“let’s just say, none of you are coming to prom with me
and that is that!” I stated and Erick laughed.
“We’ll see about that!” he said.
Annie nudged me and I ignored her.
“It’s kind of getting late, aren’t any of you ready to go
home?” Giselle asked.
“It’s just five thirty, I can stay here all night long” Erick
stated.
“Well I can’t” Giselle smiled standing up.
“Well I’m going home whenever June’s going home”
Annie stated.
“Why? Won’t… I lowered my voice “Won’t your parents
get mad.?” I asked.
“Get mad?” Annie scoffed. “I told them I’ll be having a
sleepover at your house today, remember?” she said
looking at me.
Oh my God I forgot.
“Don’t tell me you forgot!” Annie narrowed her eyes at
me.
“Of course I didn’t” I laughed… Nervously, I totally did.
“Of course she did that’s the kind of laugh she makes
when she’s nervous” Erick ratted me out and I sighed.
“Thank you so much Erick for knowing me too well” I
said sarcastically at him and he nodded. “You’re
welcome anytime babe”.
“Anyways, you recalled, you didn’t recall our sleepover
is tonight” Annie said and I nodded.
“You can both shift it to tomorrow cause I’m actually
planning to sleep over at June’s tonight” Erick said to
Annie and I.
“Sleep over at June’s?” Daniel suddenly asked.
“Yeah? Something wrong with what I said.?” Erick said
to Daniel.
“You guys are already sleeping over at each other’s
houses!” Daniel said and pursed his lips together.
“What kind of negative thought is circling in your head
right now?” I asked and he laughed.
“I didn’t know you could be this naughty minded”
Giselle suddenly laughed behind Daniel.
“I’m not naughty minded, it was just a question”
Daniel defended.
“Yeah, yeah, let’s all agree it was just a question” Erick
looked at Daniel.
We all got ready to leave and after saying goodbye and
all we all took our separate ways and of course, Annie,
Erick and I were in one car again and thankfully, this
time around they didn’t bicker at each other.
Erick finally got to my house and it was already six
p.m by then.
He kissed me goodbye at the front of my house and I
could see how Annie rolled her eyes from the corner of
my eyes.
“If you guys are going to be a total show off in front of
me then I should probably stay away from the both of
you, cause you’re nigh triggering my single heart”
Annie said and I laughed.
We both walked in and met my grandma already
prepared dinner.
Grandma complimented us for arriving at a perfect
time and the four of us quietly ate together.
We were at the middle of dinner when auggie raised his
head up at Annie.
“I like your blue hair Annie.” he said.
“Oh well thank you” Annie smiled with her flustered
face. “someone said it looked bad, but coming from a
smart boy like you, I’ll take your words over anyone’s
word.” Annie said to Auggie and he smiled.
“Are you really sure your parents are letting you have a
sleepover here?” my grandma narrowed her eyes at
Annie.
“Yes they are, how many times are you going to ask me
this grandma” Annie whined.”Cause I know you can clearly recall what happened in
fourth grade, when you slept over at our old house
without your parents knowing and your parents had to
call the police to file a missing child report, that was
nothing but trouble” my grandma said and Annie and I
looked at each other.
“That happened?” I asked.
“Oh yeah, right” Annie laughed.
“When did that happen and how come I don’t know
about it?” I asked.
“You were fast asleep and at that time were just ten
years old, so you really didn’t process the whole thing”
my grandma said and I came out laughing.
“That really happened?” I laughed again.
“Stop laughing and grandma besides, I’m not a child
anymore” Annie boasted.
“I know, but don’t give your sweet parents heart
attacks” my grandma smiled.
“I know” Annie smiled.
We were done eating and as Annie and I did the
dishes, Auggie became busy too playing with Ella.
Doing the dishes with Annie, who knew doing dishes
will be as fun as today’s own. We talked like most of
the time and finally we were in my room.
“There’s nothing like having a sleepover with your best
friend” Annie smiled getting on my bed and taking off
her beanie.
“Exactly.” I smiled back.
“Today was pretty fun, I really like your friends Travis
and shylock, they’re so nice and so fun to talk to”
Annie said.
“I know right? I met them during the teen competition
DH held at that time” I expound.
“Oh great!” Annie smiled. “I still feel bit wet though I’m
dry, remembering the river we got in, can I go and take
a bath?” Annie asked.
“Sure, if you get in the bathroom, there’s a towel
behind the door” I explained…
“Great!” Annie said and walked towards the bathroom.
I received texts from Erick and he asked me if we were
home yet and if we had ate dinner.
I told him yes and he called and we talked even more.
Annie came out of the bathroom with a towel around
her body and she turned to me.
“So you know how I totally came unprepared?” she
smiled.
“Yeah?” I looked at Annie.
She sighed. “That means I’ll have to Wear one of your
pajamas and you’re like so skinny!”
“doesn’t mean my pajamas are too, it’s not like I’m
going on a fashion show in my sleeps. Open the closet
on the third racks of clothes are my pajamas and
they’re bigger than your body too” I stated and she
grinned.
I walked into the bathroom to take a quick bath too.
And I wasn’t as quick as I sounded.
I walked into the room to see it empty, no Annie.
I quickly changed into another PJ’s of mine and
walked out of my room to see Annie coming towards
me with a popsicle.
“You took that from my fridge? It’s Auggie’s he’s going
to be sad if he finds out one of it is missing” I stated.
“My mouth was bored, and I’ll explain to Auggie
tomorrow he’s a sweet boy.” Annie said and walked
back into my room.

The night was growing older and Annie and I laid on
my bed with our phones in our hands.
I dropped mine and breathed out a sigh.
I was just checking my N’stagram updates and well I
haven’t really posted anything lately to get
notifications.
Annie dropped her phone and turned to me.
“But seriously June, I don’t really like that Giselle girl.”
Annie said.
“I know I said I’m her number one fan, but you can’t
tell who a person really is until you meet that person
in person and she was strange and did you notice how
she covers everything up with a smile.” Annie
explained.
“See not to like someone is a strong word and I know
she was kinda off today–
“Kinda?” Annie scoffed. “She was way off, and during
the would you rather game, I didn’t tell you but I
caught her stealing glances at Erick. Like excuse me
for prying into your business but to my opinion, my
point of view, she’s not really a nice person and she
was all suddenly like ‘let me guess it’s Daniel right’ I
know she just guessed that I liked Daniel but the way
she said it, I wanted to pull her head so hard.” Annie
complained. “I caught her stealing glances too, she was not only
stealing glances at Erick, but at everyone, it was like…
It was like she was… Observing us.” I stated.
“Observing us? Are we some kind of object?” Annie
scoffed.
“Look don’t take it the wrong way and let’s just quickly
and easily judge her, it’s our first hanging out with her
and like they say second time’s the charm. So maybe
our second meet we might easily see who she really is”
I shrugged.
“I hope so!” Annie rolled her eyes.
“So now about Daniel… Are you never going to ask him
out?” I asked.
“I can’t! I’m too scared” Annie said sincerely.
“Well it’s totally normal to be scared, but it’s now or
never, give me your phone.” I smiled sitting up..
“And why exactly?” Annie asked placing the phone in
my hand.
I copied Daniels phone number from my phone to
Hers and sent a simple +hi+ message to Daniel
“What have you done, are you crazy? June?.” Annie
yelled taking her phone from me.
“What?” I laughed. “it’s just Daniel, he’s human too”.
“He’s not human to me thank you, he’s an angel, but
thanks to you I just sent a message to him, you’re a
pain” Annie groaned and fell back on the bed.
Her phone suddenly beeped and she flinched.
She looked at her phone ans sat up in full speed.
“Oh my God, oh my God, it’s Daniel, it’s frigging
Daniel” she panicked excitedly.
“Calm down” I laughed.
“I am calm” she laughed too realising how she has
suddenly acted.
“Okay what did he say?” I asked.
Annie opened the message and it said “hi” too with a
question mark and a confused emoji face.
“I’m doomed, June you killed me, that emoji explains it
all” Annie said falling back on my bed again and
burying her face in my pillow, I sighed and pulled her
back up.
“Come on let’s reply him, the emoji face is probably
because he doesn’t know who the message is from…
Yet.” I smiled at Annie.
“Okay… So? What do I reply with next?” Annie asked.
“write something like, did you get home safe? And he’ll
be like, yes I did who is this, and that’s when you’ll
probably reveal yourself” I said and Annie sighed.
“And if he turns out to hate me, get bored of me or
even don’t want to have anything to do with me, I’ll
make sure I break your bones in pieces” Annie said in
a threatening and I nodded.
I grabbed the phone from her and typed did you get
home safe?
Annie bit her bottom lip and narrowed her eyes at me.
“Don’t worry everything is going to be fine.” I Tap her
shoulder.
A reply suddenly came in and Annie gasped.
Yes I did, who is this if I may ask?
“see I told you this is exactly what he will say” I said to
Annie as we both read the text.
“Okay now reply immediately don’t leave him hanging”
Annie said and I could feel her tense.
“Be calm now Cinderella” I said teasingly and she
rolled her eyes.
I replied the text.
it’s me Annie!
“It’s me Annie? Really? That is so lame” Annie said.
“What did you want me to write, hello sir, its me Annie
Emily Mccarthy, is that it? You want me to write your
full name” I yelled.
“You don’t have to yell and sure just leave it be” Annie
said.
Daniel replied immediately and i smiled.
“the cat has replied.” stated and we both looked down
to read it.
oh, hey Annie, how are you?
“Oh my God, he just asked me how I am” Annie
breathed out.
“I didn’t know you have this side of you Annie” I
laughed

“Don’t make mockery of love” Annie rolled her eyes.
“Oh love you say, what about Andy who’s been
courting you for days now” I smirked.
“June, when there’s a bread and steak in front of you
what would you go for?” Annie asked.
“steak?” I laughed “let me guess Daniel is the steak
and Andy is the bread!”.
“Exactly!” Annie said.
“Now let’s reply Daniel.” Annie quickly said.
We replied him.
I’m fine…
“Just I am fine.? Isn’t that a bit.
” It’s not a bit, it’s okay, you don’t have to be nervous
it’s just daniel” I interrupted and Annie smiled.
“You don’t get it June” she sighed.
And as she said that, I knew what was coming
immediately.
I grabbed my phone and went to Video camera, placed
my phone on my night lamp beside my bed and I knew
it would be videoing the both of us and yep Annie did
exactly what I was expecting. When Annie says you
don’t get it she’s about to explain what you don’t
actually get.
“Daniel is my night in shining armor, he’s my divine,
he’s everything, like how would you possibly see Daniel
and say no to that face, that body, like his everything
he’s what you look at and agree that God actually
created him on a fine Sunday. He’s just everything and
he’s Daniel Anderson, yeah that’s exactly why I’m this
way towards him.” Annie said and I couldn’t contain
my laughter. If only she knew I got this all on Video.
