[] ANNIE’S POV []
I broke down in tears when June’s eyes lit up and she
talked about how it had been her dream to be one of
DH’s artist, if only she knew she’s now one of the
biggest and most popular artist in DH, her album is out
there breaking records and she’s in here thinking of a
dream she has already achieved.
Why does this have to happen to her, Erick has
suddenly explained to Daniel and I what the doctor had
to said to them about June’s amnesia. So she doesn’t
remember everything that has happened from the
following year.
Why does it have to be the time she met Erick, the
time she finally achieved her dreams, why can’t she
just forget about her other pasts why does it have to be
from this year, so the memories we had, our prom,
sleepover, it’s all gone? I know she’s going to regain
her memories back but according to Erick he said it
might take time, and by time it might be Years or so.
Daniel tapped my back for me to stop crying, but I
couldn’t, it was just so hard seeing June this way, she
was just looking so vulnerable not knowing what she
has achieved so far.
“Why are you crying?” June asked.
I stood up and dried my tears.
I have to lie again, but at least shouldn’t the doctor let
us tell her she has amnesia… This is annoying, I mean
she should just try even if it’s a little bit, she should
remember something.
“I’m not crying” I sniffed.
“You clearly are, tell me what’s wrong?” she asked and
looking at her face I broke down again.
“Annie, come on what’s wrong” June asked and her
voice shook, and it looked like she’ll cry too.
But it was just so hard to look her in the eyes.
Why my best friend. Why June.
I couldn’t stop asking why. I just wished we could
suddenly switch position, I mean even I do forget for a
while, I’m going to regain my memories back but June
has like a lot going on in her life right now, she doesn’t
even know that her family has moved because she
became frigging rich, and she’s the world youngest
rookie celebrity every body loves.
“Annie talk to me” June voice shook and when I raised
my head up, she had already start to cry too. Okay now
I see when we both cry it’s contagious just between the
two of us.
I quickly gave her one of the best fake laughs ever.
She paused and watched me laugh.
“I was just pulling your legs, these are fake tears, I
wasn’t really crying” I laughed, holding in the tears
that I didn’t want to let go.
“What?” June looked at me.
“I was just kidding” I sniffed drying my eyes.
Daniel gave me a look, that kind of ‘you did well’
look.
June gave me a powerless punch on my wrist.
“Don’t joke like that, you made me tear up too” she
said and I smiled.
“Well I’m sorry” I said and cleaned her tears.
“Well now it’s okay” she said and nodded with a sad
frown. I was super sad but she can’t know that, all we
just need for her to see are happy days, so she can eat
well, smile properly get to walk again and regain her
memories.
My phone starts to ring and it was my mom.
And June clearly doesn’t even remember me telling
her about my pregnant mom.
“June, I have to go home for now, my mom needs me
but I promise before the end of the day I’ll be here” I
smiled at her and she nodded.
“And don’t think about keeping me waiting okay!”
June said and I nodded with a smile.
“bye” I smiled at her.And slowly Turned to Daniel. “you’ll be here right?
June’s grandma will be coming anytime soon”.
Daniel nodded.
“Thank you, bye” I said.
I walked out of the hospital, and I should just blame it
on how the wind made me cry till I got on the bus.

[] JUNE’S POV []
The room became super quiet with me and
Mr pretty face alone.
I didn’t know what to say and he said nothing too.
“So Daniel” I finally broke the silence.
“What is it like, being an artist under DH” I asked.
“Well it’s okay I guess” he shrugged.
“Is it fun, like do you all get to like see other
celebrities, like for example maria li.” I asked and he
nodded.
“Wow”.
“So how is Maria li in real life?” I asked.
“Well she’s… Okay.” he replied.
“Just okay!” I was disappointed by the answer.
“Yeah okay!” Daniel nodded.
I laughed a little, “Okay honestly, I thought you’d go
beyond describing her more instead of saying she’s just
okay” I smiled.
“Describing her more like? Daniel narrowed his eyes.
Goodness. His lashes.
“More like she’s a goddess, an angel, she’s beautiful
and also perfect.” I blurted.
Daniel scoffed and rolled his eyes. “I’d say the title
goddess suits you more than her.”
Oh
Wow. Such compliment
“Well… Well thanks, but Maria li is a real time
goddess” I stated.
“Well not to me” Daniel said.
“How you’re such a talkative when you just woke up” a
nurse said walking inside the room.
The nurse smiled at me and placed my phone on the
cabinet beside my bed.
“The doctor forgot to mention about your phone being
found” the nurse said.
She was about to go when she paused and turned.
“Oh my God” the nurse exclaimed.
Daniel and I looked at her like she has suddenly gotten
some screws loose.
“You’re June” the nurse smiled.
“And she’s June. A patient here.” Daniel said very
slowly through gritted teeth.
Huh?
“No like she’s June… June like the June everyone
knows” the nurse rolled her eyes.
Huh? No one knows me.
“As you can see, she’s really injured and will like a
normal rest” Daniel said and the nurse glared at him
briefly before walking out.
“Is there any popular June that I don’t know of?” I
laughed but Daniel shook his head.
We both became quiet, but quietness makes me think
of so many things, like how I can’t feel my legs and
how it Lowkey hurts under my stomach.
So I broke out the silence.
“So Daniel, name one song of yours… Please.” i said.
“Uhh second chance?” he shrugged.
Second chance…
Somehow it kind of feels I’ve heard the name so where
before.
But I said “Sorry, haven’t heard it before.”
“So what’s your favorite song?” Daniel asked.

“Soaring high by Maria Li” I replied sharply.
“Wow” Daniel laughed.
“What?” I asked.
“Nothing, maybe you should try listening to other
songs, songs like mine, my friend Erick’s and songs of
a girl I once knew” Daniel stated.
“Your friend Erick is a singer too!” I gasped.
“Yep, want to see one of his music videos?” he asked
and I nodded very slowly and carefully. I don’t want
my head bursting open.
He brought out his phone from his pocket and after
tapping it a few times he brought the phone to my face.
“He’s ab artist under DH too” Daniel stated.
As I watched the music video half way I couldn’t
contain my smile.
“He’s pretty cool and his dance moves are great” I
smiled happily.
“Yeah” Daniel nodded.
“And he’s pretty too” I said honestly.
Daniel scoffed with a smile and shook his head
Negatively.
I gave Daniel back the phone after watching Erick’s
music video.
“Can I see yours too?” I asked and he nodded.
Watching Daniel’s debut song music video for the
first time I gasped. How did two popular pretty
celebrities get to know me.
Daniel and I talked for hours until my grandma
walked in with August and Daniel had to leave. I said
goodbye to him and he smiled in return.
My grandma came back with food, and I couldn’t
chew properly because every time my teeth connects
with the food in between my lower and upper teeth, it’s
affects my head and just give a thunderous pain.
After having my meal, a nurse came in and gave me
two shots in my arm. I yelped each time the needle
striked.
The went on fast before I knew it.
It was almost getting dark and only Auggie and I
remained in the hospital room and I was starting to get
sleepy. And then I fell asleep.

[] ANNIE’S POV []
Not surprised my mom allowed me to visit June
again in the evening, I head straight to the hospital and
as I walked in the room June was in. I smiled seeing
her fast asleep and Auggie watching her sleep.
I joined Auggie over the watch and as we both
watched June, the door opened and the short doctor in
charge of June walked in with his clipboard.
“Oh wow she’s asleep” he smiled.
“Yeah” I nodded.
“I heard she’s been a chatter box all day” the doctor
said and I laugh with a nod.
“well, it’s good that she’s like that, she’ll recover before
she knows it” the doctor smiled.
“But doc” I called, and the doctor turned to me.
“Can’t we at least tell her she has amnesia, I know you
say we shouldn’t force her memories to return but still
can’t we tell her she has amnesia.? Is she going to
keep living in the dark.?” I asked the doctor.
“wait! I thought she knew, when I say you guys
shouldn’t force her to regain her memories. I didn’t
mean she shouldn’t know that she has amnesia, a
patient needs to know their condition, so they know
how to act about it.” the doctor stated and I nodded.
“And you can talk about the pasts with her too, but not
now, her head is still healing and she can get deadly
headaches easily” the doctor said and I nodded.
June grandma walked in and she and the doctor just
had the rest of the conversation.
I turned to June.
I hope she gets better soon.

* JUNE’S POV *I woke up to a blood striking headache on my
forehead and it was just unbearable I couldn’t keep my
whines, groans and grunts inside of me.
“June are you okay?” I heard and opened my eyes to
see my grandma in front of my eyes.
“My head hurts” i said and opened my eyes.
I heard door slam and minutes later I heard the doctor
voice, my vision was all blurry and suddenly I felt a
syringe pricking my skin and before I knew it I fell
asleep again.
I opened my eyes to see my grandma and August
beside and then at the other side of the bed was Erick
and Daniel.
Wow they’re all here again, except for Annie.
I slowly sat up but my grandma told me not to. But I
didn’t listen to her, I was feeling fine. My head wasn’t
hurting again.
“Hi” Erick smiled at me.
“HI…” I replied.
“How are you feeling now?” Daniel asked.
“Great” I smiled.
“So while you were asleep, the doctor said he’d be
checking out your legs today, to know if further
treatment can be made” my grandma stated and I
nodded.
“But…” I sighed.
“How come I can’t remember when I suddenly had this
incident!” I asked.
“Okay” my grandma sighed.
“What year are we in?” my grandma asked.
“The year twenty nineteen” I replied.
Why is she asking about the year so suddenly.
My grandma shook her head. “we’re in the year twenty
twenty and not twenty nineteen” my grandma said
suddenly shoving me the hospital table calendar.
“But… How come?” I asked.
“Apart from the wounds on your body, you were also
diagnosed with amnesia, retrograde dissociative
amnesia and made you forget about the year you just
went through” my grandma said with a low sniff.
Wait… What?
I have amnesia?
