I went backstage after performing and Hannah
handed me a bottled water before giving the
dancers.
“You did well” she complimented with a smile.
“I did?” I raised my brows and she nodded
happily with a smile.
“Thanks, I don’t know if it’s something, I ate but
I’ve never felt this weak before after performing” I
laughed.
“Maybe it’s because you were too relaxed.”
Hannah stated.
“Huh?” I narrowed my eyes at her confusingly.
“How does too relaxed makes you feel weak?”
“you don’t know? You were too calm and not
nervous and at all, maybe that’s the effect of not
being nervous, if you were nervous, you would
have been feeling super strong, an energy derived
from the fact that your nervousness is gone and
you’ve performed” Hannah explained and I shook
my head…
I rested a bit at the backstage before walking
back to the arena, where Erick…
“You performed great, you know I’ve never really
had a chance to go to your concert, and seeing
you perform now, it’s like It was your own private
concert. You were so beautiful out there.” Erick
said grabbing my hand…
“Uh,thanks?” I smiled, my smile taking over my
flushed face.
Two more performances and that was it.
Giselle and Daniel walked back to the stage and
Daniel yelled the “What’s up Mahnline” again
causing the crowd to go wild.
I mean he’s clearly Mahnline’s biggest fan.
“I know you guys enjoyed the performance you
just Recieved, but before we conclude the whole
show, is there any one last performance you wish
to see?” Giselle asked and point the microphone
toward the crowd and different artists could be
heard from their voices, but suddenly Daniel’s
name started taking the crowd, but suddenly
Erick and June start to beat Daniel’s name.
” What can you say? ” Erick scoffed.
“Wait! Hold up” Giselle stopped the crowd.
“Am I getting a bit of Daniel or am I getting a bit
of Erick and June?” Giselle smiled and the crowd
went Erick and June, causing me to gasp.
“Looks like they want to see the best couple
perform” Erick smirked.
“And that’s It, Erick and June, the whole crowd
wants Erick and June tonight” Daniel smiled into
the microphone and the crowd went wild again.
“And if Erick and June would kindly do us a
favour and perform for us tonight, that would
make tonight even more fun, don’t you guys
think so?” Giselle said and like expected the
crowd agreed.
Erick smiled and stood up.
“Come on June, let’s go show these people what
perfection feels and looks like”.
Oh Erick!.
He never backs down.

Erick and I walked on stage and the crowd
roared like their life depended on it.
And suddenly the crowd went “Erick-June,
Erick-June, Erick-June…
I couldn’t contain my smiles as I was handed a
purple microphone.

The loud chant from the crowd died down
immediately Erick and I start to sing and it
suddenly felt like the first time when I had to
reveal myself as mystery girl and sing with Erick.
The moment then was magical, just like how it is
now.
Singing with excitement, smiles and Erick with
the flirty smiles.
The song finally came to an end and we both
ended it with a smile.. The crowd roared in their
loudest voice and Erick and I walked down the
stage.
“Now that felt warm” Erick said as he sat down.
“Yeah, it did” I laughed.
Daniel and Giselle walked back on stage and
they just kept making the crowd go wild with
their questions.

Giselle and Daniel suddenly announced the
award that will be passed on tonight and
suddenly I didn’t care if I did win anyway award.
But deep down I know I wanted to win, and I’m
just making up excuses to cover up my
nervousness.
Erick kind of noticed my nervousness and held
my hand. “I heard that your prom is close” he
said diverting my attention from the stage and to
him.
“Yes, yeah, it’s next ween friday” I said.
“Great, would you like me to be your prom date?”
Erick smiled.
“And get the whole school tripping, no thanks!” I
bat my lashes at him.
Erick laughed. “I’m coming anyways, I don’t care
about your choice, you can’t possibly go to prom
without a dat–
“June…?” I heard my name and I turned to see
the whole crowd at my direction, some heads
were still turning around looking for ‘June?’
I slowly stood up and the whole crowd went wild.
Wait… What’s happening.
“Congratulations bae” Erick winked as he
beckoned his head for me to go on stage quickly.
Wait? Did i just win an award.
So Erick’s plan was to divert my attention, so I
wouldn’t be so nervous, so I won’t be so mind
focused about if I did win or not.
I got on stage and Daniel handing the award
wore the biggest smile ever.
He gave me the rookie of the year golden award,
and I couldn’t believe my hands were actually
touching it.
They left the stage for me to give a speech, but I
was so speechless at the moment.
Finally I start to say something “I want to thank
everyone for their support, I want to thank them
for reaching out to me and giving out their full
support, and most especially, I want to thank my
fans, for I wouldn’t be here without them” I said
and the crowd went wild causing me to smile.
I left the stage with the crowds chanting my
name and my heart was overwhelmed with joy.
Erick stood up and gave me a hug as I walked
up to him and I smiled cheerfully.
I breathed out a sigh of relief, i suddenly feel like
a burden has slide down my shoulder.
Realizing my nervousness must have made me
hold my pee, I left for the bathroom immediately.

I walked out of the bathroom and placed my
hand under the running water of the sink.
Finally I can breathe properly.
I hope I get to win more award shows from now.
I walked back to the arena to see Erick walking
down the stage,
What did I miss?
I noticed my purse was glowing and I opened it
to see my phone was ringing.
I shoved my phone back into my purse, whoever
that was we’ll talk later.

Erick came down with an award in his hand and
my eyes widen at him.
“What can you say, most influential artist of the
year”.
Whoa.
Erick and I receiving awards just made the night
and the rest of the event ended to quickly.
Finally the award show ended and the whole
place starts to dry out.
“It’s so late…” Erick said standing up.
“Yeah” I added.
We were about walking out through the other
exit door, that’s for celebrities when we both
heard our names… “Daniel” Erick called as we
both turned.
“Congratulations man” Daniel said eyeing his
award.
“Congratulations too June” Daniel smiled at me
and I smiled back with a “Thank you”.
“I didn’t know if it was just me, but I was cringing
the whole moment you were up stage, as an
’emcee” Erick said and did air quote around
emcee.
“Well it was just you!” Daniel scoffed.
“June cringed too” Erick stated.
“I didn’t” I quickly said and Daniel gave Erick a
smirk.
“We have to work on taking each other sides
June, even if it means we have to lie.” Erick
turned to me.
“Stop being a pain” I laughed.
“Uh, excuse me!” we all heard a familiar voice
behind us and turned to see the ‘Giselle’ in her
white dress.
And yeah she’s very pretty.
“HI… Uhm, Erick… June…” she smiled.
“I’m Giselle” she said bringing her hand out for a
small shake.
I took her hand first and we shook hands with
smiles on our faces.
She turned to Erick to shake his hand and as
she did, I didn’t know if it was me or her smile
grew wider.
Or maybe it was just me.
My phone starts to ring and I walked away from
them to answer my phone.
–
“I’ve been calling you since ages, anyways I know
you wouldn’t pick my call cause of the award
show, anyways, you won and suddenly when you
won the rookie award, I was a bit unhappy cause
I mean, you’re like standing in between a rookie
artist and a professional artist–
“Annie calm down” I laughed, she didn’t even say
hello and her words her so fast, it’s like she’s
running out of breath.
“Sorry, I just got excited” she laughed.
“Well thanks” I smiled.
“Anyways, you won! So… That calls for a
celebration, let’s celebrate June, just you and
me” Annie’s voice was loud.
“Annie keep it down, would you! It’s the middle of
the night!!!” I suddenly heard Annie’s voice and
she laughed.
“Anyways… What do you say? When something
good like this happens, it calls for celebration”
Annie said and I could feel her smile.
“We can defin— oh that’s right, I promise to take
shylock and Travis out too, if I win, and I did
win!” I sighed.
“Shylock, Travis? Who are those?” Annie asked,
lackadaisical.
“They’re my friends, I met them during the teens
competition”.
“Oh you mean the two winner at the
competition?” Annie asked.
“Yeah” I replied.
“Well that’s no problem, the four of us can totally
hang out!” Annie breathed out.

I love how she doesn’t mind who she meets.
Annie is very social.
“Great, I’ll think of a place where we can go, I’ll
call you again tomorrow morning” I tell her.
“Got it” she said and cut the call.
I walked back to Erick, who was still was Giselle
and Daniel.
What are they all talking about.
“Let me guess. Annie?” Erick said as I stood
beside him.
“Yeah” I nodded.
“And let me guess, she called to congratulate
you!” Erick smiled and I nodded.
“How do you know that?” Daniel asked.
“Obviously, Annie’s her best friend, that’s what
best friends do, unlike mine who sometimes
forgets I’m alive” Erick scoffed.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Daniel
shook his head.
“See, that’s why we shouldn’t be friends. You
hardly understand me.” Erick shook his head
and turned to me.
“And what did Annie say?” he asked.
“Oh nothing much, After congratulating me, she
suggested we hang out and celebrate” I shrugged.
“I won an award too, so I guess the three of us
should all celebrate too” Erick smiled.
“I’m not just going with Annie, shylock and Travis
are coming too” I stated.
“ugh, that Travel guy, sure, whatever, the five of
us will celebrate together then.” Erick added.
“Count me in too” Daniel said out of the blue.
And I suddenly remembered that he’s with us.
“I thought your schedule is tight through out the
whole week” Erick said to him.
“I’ll squeeze a day off” he shrugged.
“Four’s a crowd already, but sure, what’s
celebration without a crowd” I smiled.
“Can I be invited?” Giselle asked and we all
turned to me.
It’s my celebration hang out, we’re talking about
here and she doesn’t even know me that much,
but she wants to tag along.
Erick and Daniel looked at me for an answer and
I nodded.
“Sure” I said and she Beamed even more.
“And just so you know, I’m a big fan of yours, all
three of you, but most especially you June”
Giselle smiled.
“Well thank you!” I stated.
“Okay, well June and I have to get going” Erick
said placing his hand around my shoulder.
“Well sorry, but June before you go, please, can I
have your digits?” Giselle asked.
She’s just meeting for the first time… But
anyways she says she’s my fan, maybe she just
wants to be friends.

“Thank you very much” Giselle said as I hand her
phone back to her.
“You’re welcome and now we have to go” Erick
said before I could say another word and we both
left Daniel with Giselle.
We walked outside and got into the car, Eric’s
driver hit the road and before I know it, I was
halfway home.
