Thea scoffed as she stared at her phone, “he is rude and arrogant,” she concluded as she left her room.

She knock twice on the door to his room but got no response, she opened the door and went in. “Hey,” she said casually as she walked towards the bed.

He was sitting on the bed with his legs crossed, his back rested on the bedboard, and a book in his hand. “Here,” he taps the space beside him and she hastened her step to sit beside him.

“You will be reading this,” he said giving her the book, she took it and watched him get into bed. “Should I start?” She asked.

“Yes,” he answered and she started reading, she stopped reading when she noticed he was asleep. She bent to study her face, it was so cute she now understood why everyone was crushing on him.

His face was flawless, it was indeed natural beauty. She was tempted to touch his face but restricted herself from doing so, ‘what if he wakes up?’ That was her thought.

She dropped the book beside the lamp and whispered, “good night.” She switched off the lights before leaving his room.

She was feeling sleepy too so she had a shower before going to bed.

Thea was smiling as she rolled on the bed, it has been a while since she had a beautiful night’s rest. She usually sleeps on the couch and had to wake up early to clean the house and prepare breakfast.

It felt great knowing no responsibility is on her shoulder, the smile on her sleepy face disappeared when she felt something on her face.

She snapped her eyes open and found out it was the sun, a maid was opening the windows in the room.

She sat up and bush her hair to the left using her hand, she rubbed her forehead and yawned. The maid turned around to find her awake, she bowed immediately, “I’m sorry for waking you up ma’am,” she apologized.

Thea was surprised ’cause she didn’t understand her reason for the apology or why she called her ma’am.

“You did nothing wrong,” Thea stated. “Please don’t tell Mr. Kings or he is going to fire me, I don’t want to lose my job. I’m sorry,” she kept on apologizing with her gaze on the floor.

“Mr. Kings? What will I tell him?” Thea inquired. “That I woke you up,” she answered.

“You didn’t wake me up I should have woken up hours ago,” she said. “Mr. Kings made it clear that no one should disturb you,” she informed.

“Cisco said that?” She asked. “Yes ma’am,” she replied.

“Stop calling me ma’am, my name is Thea,” she introduced herself. “I can’t do that ma’am,” she replied.

“Cisco’s order?” Thea asked and she nodded. “What’s his problem?” She asked no one as she got out of bed.

“Continue what you were doing,” she said and went into the bathroom. She came out minutes later with a towel around her waist, her clothes were already arranged in the wardrobe.

She took an off-shoulder pink gown and dropped it on the bed, she applied a cream on her body and as she was done her eyes caught the makeup kit on the dressing table.

“He is nice, Allison is missing a lot,” she uttered. “Do you need help with anything?” The maid from earlier asked and she was startled.

“You are still here? Aren’t you done cleaning the room?” She asked holding the towel on her chest.

“My apologies if I startled you, I just wanted to make sure you are comfortable,” she apologized.

“I’m fine you can leave,” Thea dismissed her. “What will you like to have for breakfast?” She asked.

“Whatever you guys prepare,” she reply wishing she would leave soon. “Alright ma’am,” she bowed before leaving.

“That was creepy,” she muttered sitting on the chair in front of the dressing table, she opened the makeup kit and started applying it.

It has been ages since she applied makeup, she couldn’t afford it. She smiled in satisfaction as she stared at her reflection in the mirror.

“I’m beautiful, I did a better job than Mavis did,” she bragged turning her head sideways to get a perfect view of her face.

She wore the gown and left the room with her phone in her hand, she found it a little hard to locate the dining room.

The house was too big and she was not paying full concentration when he showed her around. “Having trouble ma’am?” The girl asked and she held her chest in fear.

“Did he ask you to give me a heart attack before his arrival?” She asked still holding her chest. “My apologies if I keep startling you,” she bowed.

“Are you looking for something?” She asked. “Yes, the dining room,” she answered.

“This way,” she uttered and led the way, Thea followed and mastered the route they took, so she won’t have trouble next time.

“Your breakfast will be served in a few minutes,” she said before heading to a way that Thea assumed to be the kitchen.

Different dishes were placed in front of her and she found it hard to choose. “Are we expecting guests?” She asked because she thought all those foods can’t possibly be for her alone.

‘Only a person with a suicide thought would finish this,’ she thought. “We are not expecting guests, this is for you,” she answered.

Thea’s gaze went to the food and she chuckled, ‘are they playing games with me? What do they think of me, a foodie?’ She thought glaring at the food.

She ate the amount her stomach cab take and stood up, “Ma’am, are you satisfied?” The maid that has been standing beside her all along asked.

“Yes,” she replied and went to the sitting room. She had nothing to do with her phone so she turned on the TV.

She turned it to a channel she believed she will like, unlike everyone else she doesn’t have a favorite channel.

She never had the time to watch TV, and she found it fun. She was getting attached to the movie when the maid asked.

“Should I get some snacks?” She asked. “Do you plan on killing me?” She snapped holding her chest in fright.

“I can’t do that,” she said. “I don’t believe you, you have been appearing and disappearing since I woke up,” she complained

“I’m sorry, I’ll go and get you some snacks,” she said and left. “Everyone in this house is weird,” she muttered.

‘You haven’t met everyone, you met just two people who happen to be weird,’ her subconscious replied.

The maid dropped a bowl of popcorn and juice in front of her. “What’s your name?” Thea asked.

“Fiona,” she answered. “Go and get done rest,” Thea said. “Thanks for the kindness but I was instructed to keep you company,” she said.

Thea knew she didn’t need to ask who the order was from, “you are stalking me not keeping me company,” Thea said.

“I’m sorry if I made you feel unsafe,” Fiona apologized. “How many times do you apologize in a day?” Thea asked.

“Leave, I don’t want to see you,” Thea ordered, she bit her lips for a moment before leaving. Thea carried the popcorn and ate. Fiona didn’t leave, she stood at a safe distance and watched.

Thea was still watching TV when Cisco returned, she glanced at him then back at the TV. “Hi Thea,” he greeted

“Cisco we have to talk,” she said and went upstairs, he was confused and nervous, what if those maids didn’t treat her right? That was the first thing he thought.

He gave them orders to take care of her, with her expression he was sure they didn’t. He is going to fire every one of them if she wants to quit.

He met her sited on the couch tapping her feet on the floor impatiently. “Thea,” he called and she turned to face him.

“Come and seat here,” she taps the space beside her. He sat down reluctantly and she turned to face him. “Is something wrong?” He asked after studying her weird expression.

“What am I to you?” She asked. “My friend,” he answered. “Friends tell each other everything don’t they?” She asked.

“Yea I guess,” he shrugged. “Is there something you want to know?” He asked.

“You can tell me the truth okay, I will understand,” she said and he was lost. “Those maids, they are ghosts aren’t they?” She dropped the bombshell.

“Why will you say that?” He asked finding her question unbelievable. “Okay, a ghost is too cruel. They are robots, aren’t they?” She asked

“What are you talking about? Did they try to hurt you?” He asked. “Yes per your order,” she replied.

“I would never order them to hurt you,” he defend himself. “You asked that Fiona girl to make sure I was okay by following me around,” she stated.
