Valerie’s heart skipped repeatedly.

It was him! It was Jericho – there was no doubt about that!

But…how the hell had he gotten her contact?

Geez! That wasn’t what she should be thinking about anyway. The most important thing was meeting with him so he could undo whatever he had done on her face. She actually hoped that was his reason for calling her.

She rushed to her wadrobe and took out a nice simple dress, wore it on and tied her usual scarf around her head.

She took her phone and car keys afterwards and was about running out of the room when he phone sterref ringing again. She checked and this time around, it was Lincoln.

Oh! Geez.

“Hey, hi” she answered blearily with her hand going over her eyes.

“Valerie? Finally, you pick up” Lincoln said with a sigh. “What exactly is going on, Valerie? I’ve been calling you for ages now, but you’ve not been picking up. Did I…”

“I’m so sorry, Lincoln. But trust me, I’m not mad at you – I swear. I’ve just been… really really busy ande um…You know, my birthday’s right around the corner and I have sooo much to do. Just pardon me, okay?” She said hurriedly.

“Okay. Fine. Can we just sit out and have a few minutes together? I’m right at…”

“Oh, God! I’m so sorry, but I’m not even home at the moment. I actually had to go out with Dad. But I promise you, Lincoln, we’ll see tomorrow – definitely” she cut him off and he sighed dejectedly.

“Okay then. If you say so. Bye” he answered and ended the call

Valerie hesitated for a while, giving a thought to Lincoln’s feelings. But recalling her face, she ran out of the room in haste.

Lincoln was sitting in his car, right beside Valerie’s gate. And as soon as the call ended, another came in. It was from Ivy.

“Hey Lincoln” she beamed as soon as he picked the call.

“Hey, hi” he put the call on speaker and started moving the car.

“How’re you doing, Lincoln? It’s been quite a long time” she chuckled.

“Oh, yeah. Really long, Ivy. How’re you doing?” He replied.

“Well, what can I say? I’m fine, Lincoln. Um… actually, I’m a little bored tonight and was wondering if you’d be chanced to have a little hangout. You know?”

Lincoln paused a little
.ugh! Thar was a tempting offer.

“Well, it’s your lucky day, Ivy. I’m totally free” he answered and she giggled happily.

“Thank you so much, darl. I’ll be waiting at Mr Park’s Garden. Bye”.
And the call ended .

Driving to the bridge, Valerie had texted Sally of the new development but told her not to bother coming as well. She was sure she could handle it .

She was so curious throughout the drive, hoping he was just gonna get the spots off her face, and she’d never have to see him – ever again. Oh! That was her earnest prayer.

Spotting the bridge, she found a safe place to park her car and came out afterwards with her bag and phone.

She looked at the bridge from where she stood and could see so many people there – majorly lovers.

Without hesitation, she startee walking towards the bridge and finally got there. But taking a look around, she couldn’t find him. Not at all.

“Where the hell are you?” She mumbled as she reached for her phone and redialled his line.

Damn it! It was switched off.

What the heck is going on? Was he trying to play with her emotions or something?

She looked around in a frustrated manner, but there was still no trace of him.

Oh Goodness!

She signhed dejectedly and went to lean on the bridge, staring down at the floor.

She couldn’t believe the jerk had just been playing with her emotions, trying to punish her more. What did she ever do to him? Is spilling his drink such a big offence to warrant all these?

Her phone vibrated in her bag and she brought it out to see he was the one calling. Huh!

She picked it up immediately and looked around.

“I’m at the bridge already. Where are you?” She asked peskily, trying as much as possible to control the tone of her voice.

“Walk to your left – towards the black range rovers” he instructed and Valerie arched her brows.

Range rovers?

With the call still on and the phone on her ear, she started walking to her left like he said.

She walked for a little time before spotting the car and the call ended immediately.

She got to the car, knocked on the glass tinted glass and it whined down immediately, revealing Jericho at the driver’s seat.
Wow! He looked so ..

“Get in” his voice was rasp and Valerie turned to the other side of the car and got in, taking the seat next to him.

She stared at him, wondering if she was to greet him or something.

“You are a minute late” he said icily and Valerie scoffed.

“I don’t understand. I was waiting at the bridge the whole time” she said.

“You were already late before reaching the bridge”.

She shook her head and almost rolled her eyes, finding the whole thing ridiculous.

Apologize – something in her guts whispered to her.

“Fine; I’m sorry. I didn’t know I was late” she said perfunctorily and turned to the other side of the window to roll her eyes so he doesn’t see her.

So, what about my face? – she wanted to air out, but restricted herself.

“Well” he sighed. “The reason I called you here is because… I’ve decided to give you a chance and restore your beauty”.

Valerie’s eyes beamed with disbelief.

“But not today, not now” her joy was cut off when he said that

“Huh?” She wore a crumpled look

“You have two options” he continued. “First, you can have s*x with me and I’ll take them off immediately. Or… secondly, you’ll need to work for it. You’ll be close to me and do anything I say – no matter what it is. If you’re able to carry out the tasks successfully, I’ll get the spots off your face”

For a second, Valerie was numb and just stared blankly at him.

Hell, no. He’s got to be kidding; definitely.

She scoffed and blinked rapidly.

“Just tell me this is a joke. My birthday’s less than a week from now!” She almost yelled.

“That is your problem, Valerie. Hopefully, it should be over in less than a week if you’re good enough. Or you could just have s*x with me right away and put an end to it” he shrugged.

“Never! I can’t get intimate with you! Just put an end to this and get these spots off my face already. Please!” She was frustrated.

“Begging will do you no good. What’ option are you going with?” He asked and she sank her fingers into her hair.

Why the hell did she have to encounter someone like him, huh? Why?

She couldn’t have s*x with him – no. And she couldn’t imagine herself doing whatever he says. What if he asks her to do nasty things?

“If you don’t know what to say, get out of my car” Jericho said bluntly and she glared at him

A few seconds passed, then she asked:

“If I… agree to do whatever you want, you’ll never ask me for s*x, right? Or…or anything that has to do with s*x?”

“Yes, I’ll never ask you for s*x” Jericho answered.

“And anything that has to do with s*x as well?” She repeated the last part.

“I’ll never ask you for s*x” Jericho scoffed, but Valerie didn’t feel comfortable.

“Not just s*x, but anything that has to do with s*x. You need to promise me”

“I’ll never ask you for s*x, Valerie, and that’s the only promise I’m offering you”. Jericho answered and started the car.
