JERICHO’S WEAKNESS Episode 18

Prologue✍️

Valerie turned uncomfortably on the bed. What does she do? She really needed to get these spots off her face by every means possible. She really needed to!

Her phone started ringing beside her again and she took a peek to see it was Jericho. Oh God! Speak of the devil.

She picked the call reluctantly.

“G… Good morning” her voice was gruffy.

“I dont need to call and remind you every morning Valerie, before coming over. You always need to be here as Soo as possible” he said authoritatively.
Valerie didn’t say a word.

“Come over. Now” he added and dropped the call.

“Damn you!” Valerie growled immediately and lifted a pillow from beside her and throwing it at the wall.

She hated him and just needed to get free from him! She needed to get these stupid spots off her face! But how does she do it??
Have s.ex with him?

Hell no! She couldn’t even imagine herself being intimate with such guy. He’d kill her – that she knows for sure.

She left the bed and hurried into the bathroom to freshen up and as she did, she thought about her appointment for the day.

She couldn’t miss that shoot for anything because she had to go through a lot getting that contract from them. The company’s meant to expose her and she couldn’t just abandon everything over some dump guy. She needed him to get the spots off her face – even if it had to be for a few hours.

After bathing, she found something simple to wear and took a glance at the mirror.

Oh! She missed her perfect face. Her face where she could do all the make up she wanted and look so beautiful. She badly missed it.

Well, it was only for a few days and everything would go back to normal – she assured herself as usual.

She tied her scarf around her head and finally left the room.

She made use of her second car since the first one was stuck in Jericho’s compound and she sincerely prayed this wouldn’t be stuck as well.
She really didn’t understand what was wrong with that dude. She couldn’t understand why he’s making her go through all these, just to get the spots off her face. It was far more than frustration and..oh! Damn him!

She drove at an angry speed and after a while, finally arrived at the gate. She honked and thankfully, the gateman didn’t waste much time like the previous day as he opened the gate almost immediately for her.

“You’re lucky today” she mumbled with a scrawl as she drove in and parked the car.

She stepped out of the car and walked towards the door, then knocked on it.

It took some time before it opened up but surprisingly, it was a lady – a lady dressed up like a maid.

“Good morning ma’am” the maid greeted with a bow while Valerie scrutinized her.

That was the first time she was seeing her there. Did they’ get a new maid? She thought.

“Yeah. Is Jericho in? He asked me here” Valerie said.

“Yes Ma’am. He’s upstairs” she bowed again and adjusted the tray on her hands.
There were two cups of tea on the tray.

Valerie huffed and decided to go in, but just when she tried passing the door, the maid accidentally brushed her arm and the tea cups spilled on her immediately.

“Hah!!” Valerie gasped in outmost surprise as she looked at her stained dress.
“How dare you?!”

“Oh my! I’m so sorry ma’am. I’m so sorry! Please, forgive me!” The maid apologized immediately, looking terrified.

“Oh? Keep your worthless apologies to yourself and fix your eyes with them. Have you gone blind? How dare you spill some dirty tea on me? What the f”*k is wrong with you?!” She yelled.

“I’m really sorry. Please, forgive me” the maid’s head was bowed the whole time.

Immediately, Valerie found Jericho climbing down the stairs and cooled down a bit.
Tho, her hands were fisted beside her. She didn’t come here for such humiliation and she actually wished he was going to punish the maid or something.

Jericho was silent as he walked levelly down the stairs, his eyes pinned on Valerie. Then when he got to the last step, he stopped walking.

“I told you never to yell at anyone, Valerie” he spoke calmly.
“You just failed your second test”.

Valerie’s eyes dimmed.

Hold on… This was a test???

She gasped and looked at the maid who was staring at Jericho already.

“Good job, Naya. You can leave now” Jericho told her.

Thank you sir” she bowed and walked out of the house with the tray.
