JERICHO’S WEAKNESS Episode 34

Jericho didn’t leave immediately as he wanted to watch her walk into the house first and be sure he had delivered her safely.

Valerie knocked on the gate and as expected, the gateman inquired who it was and when he confirmed she was the one, he opened the gate immediately.

“Ma’am Valerie!” He exclaimed in disbelief. “For Mary’s sake! We’ve been looking all over for you ma’am”.

Valerie didn’t reply him but just walked in to the house and he shut the gate.

“Are my parents in?” She turned to him and ask.

“Yes, yes. Of course. I doubt if they’re even sleeping because they’ve been so damn worried for a long time” he told her and she nodded and started walking towards the house.

She felt a little guilt running through her spine as she got to the door and pushed it open. Goodness! She left her parents so worried!

As soon as she opened the door, she found them in the sitting room, both having their phones in their hands.

“Valerie!” Her mother was the first to exclaim when her eyes found her
Valerie had actually shaken a little due to the force she’d used in yelling.

“My goodness! She’s back!” Her phone fell from her hands as she ran towards her and pulled her in a tight hug.

“My baby girl.!!”

“Mum” Valerie cooed, reciprocating the hug.

“Oh dear! You got us so worried. What the hell happened to you?? Where have you been?”

“I’m so sorry, mum. It’s a long story but I’m fine now…”

When Jericho noticed she was in, he started the car and drove away.

The journey was quite long but finally, he got home and hurried into the house as all he wanted was a bath and some rest. But getting to the sitting room, he found Ethan standing on the staircase, like he had been waiting for him or something.

He paused for a second, then continued walking with the intent of just walking pass him on the stairs.

“Where have you been, Jericho?” He asked and Jericho stopped walking in front of him
He almost scoffed at the way he questioned him like he was his parent or something.

“I went out, Ethan. Got a problem?” He asked

“Where?” Ethan’s voice was chilly.

“I don’t get. Since when did you start questioning my whereabouts?” Jericho scoffed.
Well, Ethan being the Angel of wisdom, he could sense everything.

“You were with the human girl, Valerie” It wasn’t a question, but Jericho didn’t respond anyway.
“Jericho…”

“Yes Ethan, I was with her! Is there a problem with that?” He almost yelled.
“I met up with her after you’d warned and threatened her to stay away from me!”

“Damn you, Jericho! I did it for your own good. She was nothing but a distraction and I needed to put her away! Are you forgetting we have a lot to do?? Derek and Hapitha are out there, living with what we want, yet you are…”

“Derek is dead!” Jericho couldn’t stop himself from spilling the words and Ethan’s eyes dropped open in shock.

“Wh… What did you just say?” He scoffed, wanting so hard to believe he wasn’t hearing him clearly.

“You heard me, man. He’s dead! So, he’s out of the way and the only person we have left is Hapitha”.

He tried walking away, but Ethan stopped him.

“How did he die, Jericho?” He asked, holding him by the arm.
“What happened to him?”

“The truth – I killed him, Ethan. Yes, he wanted to kill, Valerie. So, I had to kill him to protect her” Jericho answered coldly.

“Damn you, Jericho! The plan was using him as a bait to get Hapitha! How could you ruin everything just because of that lady!”

“I was able to find Derek, Ethan! So, trust me! I’ll find Hapitha as well okay? Now, give me a break – and Valerie too. You don’t threaten her, Ethan, because if you do, it won’t be funny”

Finally, he walked away and Ethan was too shocked to stop him.

“But you should’ve sticked to the plan, Jericho. Killing Derek was never part of it” Klaus said as he leaned on the table while Jericho brushed his hair in front of the mirror.

“Can I get a break from this? I told you – he tried to kill Valerie” Jericho snorted.

“So, you jeaporadised the mission because of her?” Ethan asked.

“I didn’t okay? Besides….he tried to kill me as well. Don’t you understand? Everything was in self defense”.

Ethan exhaled deeply, knowing it was pointless arguing with Jericho because he never accepts his mistakes.

“Don’t tell me you’re having feelings for her already?” He asked after a while and Jericho gave him a glare.

“Now, what’re you talking about? How on earth can I have feelings for now? I don’t even know what that means” he scoffed.

“Which makes everything worst because you can’t even recognize them when they’re happening to you”.

There was a pause.

“Do you feel excited whenever you’re with her and you kind of wish she doesn’t leave? Do you feel like hugging her at times and know what her body would feel like? Does your heart skip a bit when you see her for the first time in a day? Do you…”

“Keep your God-damn lovers quote to yourself, Klaus. I don’t feel any of those cause the only thing I know I feel is the strong urge to screw her” he snorted as he took his phones and car keys from the table.

“Okay. And where are you going?” Klaus asked sarcastically and with a smile, he whispered:
“I have a date”.
Then, he left.

Klaus left the room after a while and met Ethan on the staircase, holding a glass of wine.

“Did you see Jericho?” He asked as he stood behind him and Ethan just nodded.
He was there when Jericho left the house.

“I’m killing her today” he mumbled and Klaus looked at him in dismay.

“I don’t understand. Killing who?” He asked

Ethan gulped down the last wine in his glass.

“The human – Valerie. I’m killing her today” he mumbled again and left.
