JERICHO’S WEAKNESS Episode 37

Valerie rode the donkey for a short time before returning to meet Jericho and she was brimful with excitement as she did.

“I wish I could take you home with me” she said to the donkey and kissed it.

Then, she hurried to meet Jericho who was standing under a tree, waiting for her

“And you finally decided to come back huh?” He asked as he started walking away, while she followed.

“But I didn’t take much time, did I? Oh! Trust me, Jericho! The feeling was awesome!” She stated dreamily and clutched her hands tight.

They visited other cages where they’d see animals like Lions, tigers, elephants and the rest and Valerie had to take out time to explain the names and natures of the animals to Jericho. Indeed, this guy was an alien.

Yes, she had confirmed it. The only problem was, she just never thought Aliens were real. Like… someone from a different part of the world could actually exist there.

They’d come across a set of people playing basketball and unfortunately, while one of the boys were trying to bounce the ball into the net, it accidentally bounced towards Jericho.

Uh-uh.
This isn’t good – Valerie thought as the ball rested on his feet.

“Yeah. Sorry man” one of the players said simply as he ran towards Jericho and tried picking the ball up.

But Jericho stopped him and took the ball instead, then hit it on his head and watched it bounce into the net.

Whaaat???

“Woah!!” Some of the people around wowed in amusement, but the boy himself was a little upset.

“Hey; what was that for??” He turned to Jericho and asked angrily.

Okay; Valerie, I think this has got to stop.

“Say one more word and I’ll turn you into the ball itself” Jericho said bluntly and a flinch crept into the boy’s face.

“Um… Jericho, I think we should leave now. Come on”. Valerie held his hand and forced him away from the scene before he creates more mess.

“You don’t just go around causing trouble, Jericho. Those boys could gang up on you” she stated huskily to him as they walked away.

“Seriously?” Jericho scoffed. “I could kill those boys even before they blink”.

Valerie looked at him and shook her head. Could anything be wierder than this guy??

They figured they’d seen enough animals for the day and decided to leave the zoo already.

“So, where next?” Jericho asked as he touched the key in the ignition.

“Um…to eat, I guees?” She shrugged and he took off afterwards, headed for an eatery.

Valerie helped Jericho order for some meal and while they were eating, she tried to teach him how to make use of the cutleries.

“But why do people need to cut the meat with a knife when they could easily use their hands?” Jericho asked as he tried practicalizing what she taught him.

“Well… it shows courtesy and would ensure your hands stays neat” she replied with another cut on the meat and Jericho just nodded.

He tried doing it – cutting the knife with the meat, but hell, it didn’t work out and he just made use of his hand instead.

“Trust me – that is a complete waste of time” he said to Valerie as he munched on the meat and Valerie just laughed.

They tried out so many foods, drinks and some chocolates and in the end, Jericho concluded earth had a lot of goodies compared to his place.
These guys are definitely living a fulfilled – he thought.

But all the same, there was no place like home – never could be.

“And this is the last treat for today, Jericho” Valerie said as they climbed down the stairs of the eatery, headed to their car.
“Can I get my beauty back now?’

Jericho didn’t reply to that, instead, he asked:
“That night, after the incidence at the club, how did you know I was responsible for what happened to your face?”

“Well… I just guessed because you were the only one I’d offended. Besides, the old woman confirmed it as well” Valerie replied with an eye roll

They were already standing beside the car, but Jericho didn’t open the front doors as he stood and stared at her.

“What woman?” He asked, keenly.

“I .. don’t know. It’s just so random woman I’d seen around an ice cream shop. She was actually one of those beggers. Can we…”

“What’s her name?” Jericho cut her off, making Valerie get twitchy.

“Um… I don’t know her name” she scoffed. “she isn’t someone important. She was just…”

“This woman… was she holding a bead when you met her?” Jericho asked and Valerie tried to think.

Yes ..she could recall the woman had been with some beads which she rolled in her hands.
But… why’s he asking and why’s he trying to freak her out??

“Y…Yes. I think I had seen her with some beads” She replied and Jericho’s eyes dimmed immediately.

That was Hapitha!!

Valerie was a little abacked at the strange look that’d taken over him.

“Valerie…Where exactly did you see this woman?” He picked his words, his tone sounding so dead serious.
But when Valerie opened her lips to speak, she got caught off by a sudden cough which penetrated deep into her head.

“Ah” she let out a light grunt and coughed again and this time around, she coughed out blood.

“Valerie?” Jericho called in dismay but she couldn’t even speak as she went on coughing and spilling more blood.

“Valerie! Hey! Valerie, what is wrong? Valerie!” Jericho called and caught her as she fell into his arms and passed out.
