JERICHO’S WEAKNESS Episode 46

Lincoln scoffed and looked at him.

“Him?” He turned to Valerie. “You still with him?”

“And should you care, Lincoln?” Valerie snapped.

She glanced at Jericho and the look in his eyes… hell no! He might do something nasty.

“For your own good Lincoln, let me go” she whispered to him and forcefully fred her arm from his grasp.

“Valerie, we still need to talk. Please…” He tried going after her as she headed for Jericho’s car.

“Take one more step closer to her and I’ll make sure that’d be the last step you ever take” Jericho huffed and Lincoln stopped on his tracks.

Normally, he wasn’t one to bow to a guy’s will, but at that moment, something in his guts told him to avoid that particular guy.

Valerie got to the car, opened the front door and walked in and Jericho – after giving Lincoln a long stare – also did same.

“Hi beautiful” he smiled at Valerie as he started the car.

“Hi” Valerie only mumbled before he took off.

He turned on some music and increased the volume to a high extent.

“Geez! Jericho, can you tune it down?” She grumbled with her hands over her ears and he decreased the volume immediately.

“Sorry pumpkin, but I think a music is more enjoyable when it’s loud” he smirked.

“Well, you can do that over there in your mystery world, not here’

“We don’t have music over there”
Valerie turned and looked at him in Surprise.

What??

“Hold on…Where do you even come from? Like… this place, does it have a name?” She adjusted on her seat and asked but Jericho only replied with a smile.

“Hello?” She rolled her eyes.

“Learn to mind your business, Miss”. He scoffed and increased the volume a bit.

“Really? I left my birthday preparations just to keep you company and you telling me that sh!t? If you really want me to mind my business, I’d suggest you take me back home so I can mind my birthday preparations”.

“For Selena’s sake, why do ladies enjoy the sound of their voices this much?” Jericho asked with a gruntful sigh, making Valerie scoff.

“You’re unbelievable” she mumbled and adjusted properly on her seat.
“Where’re we going to, anyway?”

The car pulled over in front of the familiar house – Jericho’s house.

“Hold on, you brought me here?” Valerie asked as she stepped out of the car with Jericho. “I thought this was meant to be a date or something? How come you’re bringing me to a house?”

“I need you to make breakfast for me, Valerie”. He replied.

“Breakfast? You didn’t tell me you wanted me to be your cook”.

“Goodness. I wish you can keep shut for just one minute. I promise I’ll give you the World…”

Their voices trailed off as they walked into the house.

While Valerie fixed something in the kitchen, Jericho kept himself busy with a movie and some popcorn.

Valerie still couldn’t comprehend how she’d been able to cook perfectly when she was never the kitchen – type at home.
Hmm. Seems catering was her calling.

After about an hour, she we done and took the meal to Jericho.

“At last. I was beginning to think it’d take forever, you know?” Jericho stated teasingly as he sat up to face the meal.

“Yeah, you’re welcome” Valerie rolled her eyes and walked away, returning to the kitchen.

She ate from hers and after a while, returned to the kitchen to check up on Jericho.

“Where did you learn such cooking skills from, Valerie?” Jericho asked with ecstasy.
The plates were empty in front of him.

Valerie felt her cheeks heat up a little.

“Is that your own way of saying*thank you for the meal?” She waved her hand in the air and Jericho only smiled.

Goodness! He seriously wasn’t gonna thank her?

She shook her head and cleared the plates from the table, taking them to the kitchen and by the time she returned, he was already back with his movie.

“So..what do we next?” She asked with a light shrug and Jericho spared her a glance

“Come sit with me, Val. Let’s watch some movies together”. He said.

“Thank you, but I don’t think I’m interested”.

“Come on Valerie, don’t forget we have an agreement”

She rolled her eyes in defeat and plonked herself next to him on the couch.

“Good girl” he chuckled and threw his hand over her shoulders.

Watching a movie was not entirely in her mind and Valerie had slept off in less than 20 minutes.

Jericho didn’t even notice she was asleep as he was so engrossed in the movie, and he didn’t notice at all until the movie had come to an end.

He turned and found her sleeping soundly beside him, her head resting on his shoulders.

“Stubborn sleepy head”‘ he muttered as he moved the strands of hair that flopped carelessly across her eyes.

Then, he shifted carefully and slowly, until her head was laid on the head of the couch.

Hmm. Sleeping beauty, huh? He chuckled.

He stood up afterwards and left the room.

So many hours and Valerie couldn’t understand how she had been able to sleep for so long. Like… what the heck was wrong with her??

She’d woken up on the couch and looking around, she couldn’t find Jericho in.

Urgh! But she felt really relieved after the long sleep

She stood up from the couch and was about going into the room when Jericho walked in, holding a bottle of wine with him.

“Oh!” He said. ” Finally, you’re awake”.
