Valerie sat quietly in the room, her face buried in her palms.

“Is there a problem?” She heard Monhana ask and lifted her head to see her.
She thought she would be in the kitchen?

“I’m…. I’m fine” she sighed, adjusting on the seat, just incase she wanted to sit as well.

“Well, you don’t look fine. I noticed it since we came home from the palace. What happened, Valerie?”

Tears threatened to spill her eyes again, and tia time around, she let it drop.

“I saw. . Jericho. Today”. She muttered ruefully.

“Prince Jericho?” Monhana asked, sitting next to her, and Valerie nodded.

“Oh, dear. He didn’t see you, did he?”.

“No. But…. I was so close to him”.

Monhana sighed and placed her hand round her shoulder.

“Trust me dear, I understand how you feel. I mean… being close to the one you care about, yet you can’t even let him see you. I think leaving Atlancia as soon as possible is just going to be the best solution for you dear. So, you should keep working towards that. Okay?” Monhana stated calmly, and Valerie simply nodded.

“Now, stop crying. I need to finish up my work from the kitchen alright?”

“Okay”.
And Monhana stood up and left.

Valerie wiped the tears off her face and tried eating from the nuts there on the table. Jericho; she just couldn’t stop thinking about him.

Seeing him at the palace had melted her heart, reminding her of all the memories they both shared. The first day she met him and poured drink on him at the bar, then waking up the next day with spots over her face; all the crazy things he made her do…. She paused and chuckled, recalling even the blówjob. And that rare moment they got intimate.

She sniffed and snapped out of thougts when she heard a door opening. And turning quickly, she found Rika, stepping out of her little room.
Oh….

Rika stood from the door and stared at her for a long time, while Valerie also did same. She could notice the traces of tears on her face.

Valerie was also surprised, wondering why the lady was just staring at her. Yeah, Rika was a lady,but her condition was making her seem smaller…

“H… Hey” Valerie called out with a cracked voice, and Rika budged forward to meet her.

“Why… are you…. crying?” Rika stuttered the words, making Valerie’s eyes widen in shock.
Did she just….say something???? Did she just….
Oh, no…
Rika just spoke to her!!! She said something, after Monhana had told her she hadn’t spoken for years.

Rika stared quietly at her, her hair was still rough and her big sparkling eyes active.

“I’m… I’m f-fine” Valerie couldn’t help but stutter as well.
Hearing Rika speak was something she didn’t plan on seeing anytime soon. How would Monhana feel about it?

Surprisingly, Rika sat next to her, giving some more shocks.

“We all have problems” she said.
“It’s our ability to face them that matters”.

Her accent wasn’t that perfect, since she hadn’t spoken for years.
“I hope you don’t cry anymore”. She added.

As Valerie stared into those big pretty eyes of hers, she could see a young pretty lady; a lady who’s beauty was hidden.

Rika took some nuts from the bowl, then stood up and returned to her room.

Later that day, Valerie had tried telling Monhana about Rika talking, but Monhana wouldn’t believe. To her, it was impossible for Rika to just change over night. So, she didn’t believe. And Valerie didn’t know of a better way to convince her.

Next Morning, she got ready and left for the palace with Monhana accompanying her a little. Monhana wasn’t having any work to do at the palace, so she couldn’t follow Valerie directly in but had to stop at the gate.

“Take care, okay? I’ll come pick you up by evening” she told Valerie.

“Thank you” Valerie answered and walked in, gaining passage from the guards who already recognized as a maid from the previous day.

She walked in with her soft look, not even greeting anyone at all cause she didn’t know if she was meant to. Well, the palace was already filled with people moving about. It was obvious Atlancia was way different from earth.

Approaching the second entrance which was meant to take her to the maids section, she suddenly saw a crowd of people gathered from afar and wondered what was going on.

“Fiona!” She heard Tammy’s voice and turned to see her scuttling towards her direction.
“You’re here”.

“Good morning” Valerie greeted with an arched brow, wondering why she was breathing that way.
“What’s going on there?” She asked .

“It’s Prince Jericho. He’s about to punish someone; Or maybe kill someone. Come on….” Before Valerie could even comprehend what was going on, Tammy took her hand and led her towards the scene.
