Spacing out through the noise and not moving an inch got Jeremy worried that he gently pushed Calista on the shoulder, snapping her out of reverie.
“You okay…?” He asked.

“What…” Calista looked around, realizing she was at the dinner party.

“Yeah I’m okay” She replied grabbing the glass of wine in front of her and drinking the whole thing.
“Okay then, I get it, this so called dinner party is boring, it’s just the head managers talking or should I say bragging about their ‘works’ but you’ve been spacing out a lot, you sure you’re okay?” Jeremy asked.
“I am very sure.” Calista smiled. “Maybe, I’m just tired, that’s the only reason.”

“Okay. Don’t worry we’ll get through this boring dinner together.” Jeremy said and they both shared a laugh.

Someone suddenly hit the long wooden table and everyone’s head snapped up at the person in unsion.
Calista tilted her head when she saw Debbie getting on her feet.

“I am so sorry for hitting the table.” Debbie apologized. “I just wanted everyone’s attention.”

“Okay then, that was rude of you but go on.” Heather, the manager of the research and development team spoke up and Debbie let’s out a grin.

“I apologize again, but before I go even further, hey everyone, I’m Debbie and I’m from the research and development team. And well I do not mean to rude but I think I speak for everyone when I say this dinner party isn’t exactly what we expected. It’s lame.” Debbie shook her head.

Calista and Jeremy glanced at each other and let’s out a chuckle.
“she’s so brave.” Jeremy whispered shaking his head.
“Tell me about it.” Calista smiled.

“What do you mean lame, this is just a get together dinner to celebrate half of our project done. What more did you expect?” Heather asked.
“Exactly, it is a dinner to celebrate, that’s why we need more fun than you three talking about how you’ve all come to far. Sorry for that but it’s true.” Debbie sighed.

“She is right Miss Heather, this doesn’t feel like a celebration” a girl with huge glasses added and miss Heather breathed out a sigh.
“Okay..” she mumbled, glancing at the other two team managers, before turning to Debbie. “Okay what do you suggest we do? Not trying to sound that old but eating and drinking is indeed considered celebration back in my day”.
“Oh now you do sound old.” Alvara chipped in and everyone around the table laughed.

The girl with the glasses suddenly stood up. “First suggestion is that we get rid of the wines, they’re not even alcoholic to begin with, and where is the fun in that?”

“Ruby… This is a-
“Miss Heather yes to alcohol this isn’t work, and I bet everyone here can handle their alcohol.” Ruby interrupted.

“I simply cannot understand why youths these days think alcohol is everything.” Heather shook her head.
“it gives the thrills.” Debbie shook her shoulders and everyone laughed.

Heather gave up and gave it a go, and soon the table was filled different types of liquor.
And soon enough everyone around the table started a whole game that they all enjoyed, a game where they had ten seconds to describe an object or anything in the world and anyone can have a chance to guess what it is, but if the person also fails to guess what it is, they end up drinking, and if they get the answer correctly, they make the owner of the question drink.

It was Henry turn, a guy from the same department as Calista, and as he explained his object everyone payed attention to him.

“So is this object big.?” Alvara asked, wanting to guess perfectly.
“it comes in different sizes.” Henry replied. “And it comes in pair and also comes in different Colour.”

“Is it something we can eat or drink?” Jeremy asked.

“Not really… Okay let me let out a hint, it is used for, should I say protection, and also gives volume to what it is protecting, and sometimes it even makes what it is protecting looks bigger.” Henry expounded leaving everyone confused.

“Now is your object a bra?” a familiar voice said from behind and everyone turned to see Boris.
“Oh, Mr. Goodman” Alvara smiled, getting on her feet.
“Please, we’re off work. Just call me Boris.” Boris smiled. “And I hope I am not too late, I promised to be here earlier, and I’m sorry I arrived late, I had to take care of something.”
“it is okay. You’re just in time. And to say you overheard Henry’s description of his weird object.” Heather smiled.

“Well it is a bra.” Henry smirked, taking a his glass cup and chugging down the whole thing.
Boris laughed and took a seat.
“How in the world did you manage to guess that Boris.? Henry is such a perv.” Alvara shook her head.
“Some times you just have to travel through the minds of young adults.” Boris smiled.

“Well Henry, since you’ve made the company’s chief operating officer guess something that bizzare. You’re having another shot.” Alvara threatened.
“What?” Henry half yelled, making everyone laughed at his expression.

“Well I like that you’re all having a good time.” Boris smiled. “I also have good news.”
Everyone suddenly paused, waiting for the good news. “Your Ceo surprised me by changing his mind today saying he will be joining us tonight, saying it is his project and since it is partly done, he also wants to celebrate with his amazing workers and get to know them better, not just their employee’s CV, and he will be running a little late, but he will be here tonight.”

“Now that doesn’t sound like good news” Jeremy whispered.

Noah sat amongst his employees, his hand folded below his chest, his hair perfectly gelled on one side, and his ocean eyes staring at the glass of wine in front of him.
The table was dead silent, with everyone silently sipping their drinks. Minutes ago the table was fun, with everyone playing the same game with Boris, but the moment Noah Leonhart walked in and sat amongst them, everyone became dead silent.

“I don’t understand… Why did you all stop?” Boris Asked, looking around trying to understand what was happening.

“I… I have to go to the bathroom.” a girl stuttered, got on her feet and walked away.

“How about we continue, I’m sure Mr. Leonhart will be pleased and would love to join us, after he sees a peep of the game.” Mrs. Alvara grinned trying to lighten up the table.
Noah’s phone suddenly start to ring and he immediately took an excuse and walked out of the restaurant to take the call.

“Okay, I guess I’m not the only one who’s freaking scared of him.” Ruby gave a nervous laugh.
“He seriously doesn’t look friendly.” Henry chipped in.
“What are you talking about. Are you all afraid of Mr. Leonhart?” Boris asked.

“Not really, I was just like that because everyone else was like that.” Jeremy shrugged.
“Same.” Another guy added.
“Shut up, I saw your legs shake.” Debbie snarled at the guy and everyone shared a laugh.
Calista spoke up. “Well there’s literally nothing to be afraid of, can we just continue our game. We’re out of work remember.?”
“Calista’s right, I don’t get why you’re all so afraid of your boss.” Miss Heather smiled.

The game continued and even when Noah came Back, everyone tried their best not to look at him or acknowledge his presence. It got to Calista’s turn and everyone waited patiently for her to describe her object.

With her flushed face she started. “it is a small, strong and flexible thing. It is something you definitely can’t eat but something you can’t hate. It has super fast reflexes has a strong sense of smell.”

“It feels like you’re describing a person. I can’t seem to put my finger around it.” a girl at the end of the table said.
“Well it is not a human being, but doesn’t is a living thing, and it is also cute and has night vision” Calista explained, leaving everyone to think.

“Isn’t it a cat?” Noah suddenly spoke up and everyone froze.

“Whoa. Yes.” Calista nodded, looking down at her glass ready to go for a long gulp of alcohol, she was already getting intoxicated, she could feel it, and having more will leave her totally drunk.

Noah internally smiled at his correct answer, but wore a stern face on the outside, the game went on and on, and everyone started to notice how Noah only answered when it was Calista’s turn and coincidentally guessed every one of Calista’s description, causing her to drink none stop.

“Okay, I feel like we should stop, Calista’s drunk.” Jeremy pointed out, worried about the lady next to him.
“What are you talking about, I’m not drunk.” she scoffed.
“You are.” Jeremy scoffed back.
“Let’s continue, she’s fine.” Henry suggested.
.
.
The dinner finally came to an end and as everyone left the table one by one, Noah and Boris thanked the team managers before walking out of the restaurant.

Getting out of the restaurant and unlocking his car door, Noah breathed out a sigh when he touched his pocket and realized he had left his phone inside. Boris watched him walk back inside the restaurant and yelled a good night before walking down the road to get into the Uber he had booked earlier.
Just then Jeremy and Calista walked out of the restaurant, with Calista drunk dead but pretending to be fine, even her words slurred as she spoke.
“Are you sure you’ll be fine on your own.?” Jeremy asked.
“I already told you countless time, I will be. Now go home.”

“I’m just worried about you that’s all.” Jeremy sighed.
“I’m fine.” Calista mumbled pushing Jeremy’s shoulder with one hand.

“Okay… Good night then.” Jeremy gave up seeing how stubborn Calista was.
“Good night Remy.” Calista sniffed, moving her hair back and waving good bye to him.
Just as Jeremy disappeared into the small alley behind the restaurant. Calista made a turn to Noah’s car and waved her hand at it.
“Taxi wait…” she breathed out, walking up to the car and getting into the car’s back seat.
“Take me home.” she muttered, her eyes partly closed, talking to nobody but herself inside the car.
Slowly she doze up and laid down on the back seats, squeezing her body to fit, falling asleep in a second.

Just then, Noah walked out of the restaurant and with his phone in his pocket, he opened his car door and walked into the driver’s seat, driving himself and his unknown visitor at the back, home.
