EPISODE 11
Shannon’s POV
“Can we be friends? ” She asked.
Did I just swallow my saliva?
“Really? ” I asked giving her a mocking face.
“Yeah, we can be friends and I can do everything to make it up to you.. I agree,I had some wicked attitudes lately but I’m a changed person now” She said.
All of a sudden?
I sniggerd
“You want to be my friend? Are you sure you won’t regret making friends with a wretched person?” I asked.
“Shannon, you are making it harder? I already tried to apologize but you have the mind of a rock.. I know our previous encounters have been rough lately, we can start afresh, like I just met you and you are just meeting me for the first too.. ” Jasmine said.
“Oh really? I’m the one with a mind of rock? Do you think Emily likes you? ” I scoffed and turned to Emily.
“Do you like Jasmine? ” I asked her and to my greatest surprise, she nodded in affirmation.
“See” “So why is it so difficult for you to like me too?” Jasmine said.
“What? ”
“I.. I mean why is so difficult for you to be my friend?” She said intertwining her fingers.
“After calling my sister a zombie like it’s her fault she turned out this way…Had it been our parents weren’t killed,do you think she would ever be kept in an isolette or would we ever be here? would some girl insult us to the core? ” I yelled at her. This story is written by Wunmi Ijaola.

“Kuya,your phone is ringing” Emily announced..
I collected the phone from her, looked at the caller ID.. It was Mr Jeremy,i quickly swiped to the receiver.
“Hello Mr.. ” I stopped ‘cos Jasmine was here.She might think I have bad plans against her with Mr Jeremy.
———> He told me he’s back from Russia with Mr Bryant and Mr Bryant would return home anytime soon.
He suggested we should meet at a coffee shop which he sent the address to some coffee and to talk..

“Emily I would return soon” I told Emily without saying anything to Jasmine,she just continue staring at me.
I left the room Asap.

I got to the coffee shop and it took no time to recognise Mr Jeremy though he wore eye glasses today.
“Mr Jeremy” I said and took a seat opposite him.
“Shannon, how are you doing? ”
“Trying to be good and alright” I told him.
“Hey here” He signalled to a waiter to get us two cup of coffee.
“I found out you have a sister” Mr Jeremy said to me.
“I do”
“So she survived”
“Yes, she was safed immediately Mom was stabbed” I told him.
“I’m really sorry I didn’t come to you when you needed me the most ” He said then paused when the waiter came towards us and served us coffee.
“I came back later but I heard you are living fine with your uncle ” He continued when the waiter left.
I simpered ” Living fine? An uncle who couldn’t support us when his wife sent my sister and I out of the his house”
“And how did you end up in Mr Bryant house? ”
“While we wandered, he saw us and took us in.. He is such a good man”
“Really? You think he is a good man? ”
“Why not, you are his PA though, so you should know him better…. isn’t he a very good man? ” I asked him
“Err.. Well.. ” He began to stammer “He is,he is such a good and kind-hearted man” Mr Jeremy said.
I smiled then frown “Mr Jeremy, how did it happen? you were Dad’s PA eight years ago and now you are Mr Bryant’s…”
“Mr Bryant works in the same company your Dad worked, he own the company now ” He interrupted me.
I gasped “What you are trying to say is Mr Bryant knows my Dad??”
“Exactly”
“Then I think it’s easier,we should have this same meeting with Mr Bryant.. Then I would tell him I’m the late Director Dawton’s son… It would be easier that way to find who killed my parent.. thank goodness we are three”
“No Shannon no, capital no. Mr Bryant should never know you are Mr Dawton’s son”
“Why not? ”
“There’s no way I can explain Shannon… Mr Bryant shouldn’t even know I do know you” Mr Jeremy said.
“Then how will I investigate my parents’ death? the case can’t be over ” I shouted at him as I flared up.
I noticed all eyes were on me even Mr Jeremy looked sad or should I say angry b’cos I talked to him in that manner..
“I’m sorry” I apologised and sat down back. “The pain hurts me everyday and continuously” I began to cry,i couldn’t hold it anymore..”How it all happened won’t come off my head… Dad was shot and a knife on mom’s back, blood!”
“Stop weeping” Mr Jeremy consoled giving me a handkerchief even when he was almost in tears too.
“We can investigate this secretly… The detectives or polices shouldn’t also know” Mr Jeremy said.
“I don’t want the police assistance..I’m gonna kill the person myself” I said.
“Shannon, no!”
“I’m sorry Mr Jeremy, I know you mean alot to me but this is what I want.. I don’t care who did it, the fool will die in my hands” I stood up to leave.
“Your coffee, you didn’t even touch it” Mr Jeremy reminded.
“You didn’t touch yours either” I told him “So I’m leaving” I said then walked out of the coffee shop.
I cleaned my face once more with the handkerchief he gave me earlier before disposing it into a trash can nearby.
Anyone who meet or sees me now might think I’m cool, easy-going, gentle and endowed with handsomeness but the deep down here, I’m not okay…. I want to avenge my parents death!
