LOVE OR REVENGE EPISODE 17

EPISODE 17
“Hello everyone” I resumed, moving closer to the microphone.
I heaved a light sigh ‘cos I know most people would already know I’m the one speaking.
“It’s Jasmine Bryant” I said… Many students must have started to insult me after hearing my name.
“To those who knows me,definately you know my attitude too. I’m a witch and a bully,i agree. I’m here now to apologise to everyone..” I paused as tears began to flow down my cheeks.
Do I really have to do this?
Am I not the same gal that won’t stoop so low to apologise to anyone but I’m doing so now..
“I’m sorry for the way I spoke and treated most of you, I’m sorry for being rude and vicious, I’m sorry for… ” I heard the door opened,i turned to see who it was but no one was there..
“And Mara, I’m so sorry for everything. I do hope you all will find a space in your heart to forgive me” I concluded, wiping my face.
As soon as I came out from the school studio, so many eyes were on me even the teachers I spoke rudely to, I heard one of them say “Unbelievable”
I also heard some students whispering to themselves..some comments were good and some were irksome.
Yet I tried to wave at and say ‘Hello or Hey or Hi’ to them with an attracting smile on my face.
I saw Jenny running towards me.
“What did you do Jasmine? ” She asked me.
“Guess what, you are looking at a new Jasmine” I told her.
“Oh, dear bestie” She hugged me.
“You did the best thing and I love the new you” She said.
We walked to the class together and when we got to the class,the expected 30 eyes were on me.
I cleared my throat ” So everyone, henceforth I’m a changed person” I said smiling and they clapped and rushed to embrace me.
Wow, I was expecting thorough beating and painful insult but…Oh my!
Even with the number of people embracing and obstructing me, I still tried to look at Shannon… He was the only one that didn’t smile or cheer with me..He stared at me for a while and then took his eyes off me.
“Hey” Mara said to me.
“Hi Mara, I’m…. ” I wanted to apologize again but she interrupted me.
“It’s okay” She said.
“Well, if you don’t mind we can be friends” I said to her..
“Yeah, best of friends” Jennie added.
“Why not? ” Mara said smiling and I hugged her.
“It’s good you changed” I heard Mike say behind me and he walked away. Well..
So many students were happy and proud of me that I was bold enough to say all that to the whole school.
Shannon was the only different one, the one with the heart of a rock. What else am I gonna do this time around?

I felt really ill later in the evening…
I ate just a spoon of the meal in front of me and got fed up.
“What’s wrong with you Jasmine? ” Dad asked.
“I think I’m falling ill”
“Ill? since when? ” Mom asked as she stopped eating and paid attention to me.
“This evening, worry less mom I would be fine after taking some drugs” I told her as I stood up, took a glance at Shannon who gave me an i-don’t-care look.
“So,i will go first, take some drugs and have some good sleep” I said.
“Take good care of yourself” Mom,Dad and Alex said including Emily but Shannon shun her in a whisper I heard “C’mon Eat” I innocently looked at him but he looked away.

The next day
I do not think I would be able to go to school today ‘cos the fever has risen and I looked so pale.
I staggered to the livingroom and sat on a chair.
Emily came out first and saw me.
“Sis Jasmine,you look really sick” She said.
“Yes darling, I won’t be able to go to school today so hurry up, the driver must be waiting for you” I told her.
“Take more drugs and take care of yourself” Emily said.
I bet she doesn’t know what she meant by I should take more drugs.
She said bye and left.
Shannon came out too,all dressed in the school uniform…He didn’t look at me twice or say a good morning or ask how I feel?
“I’m very sick Shannon” I told him and he stopped walking to the main door.
“I know” He replied less concerned.
What? Even little Emily showed care…Can’t he show it too even if it’s just a little care.
I got off the chair and staggered towards him…
I’m going to yell at him, I do not care, I don’t.
“Shannon” I called me when I got close to him.
“You are the most wicked and heartless human I have ever met” I began to yell at him not minding my health.
“What else do you want uh? and fine I agree to blamed from the very onset but it’s not like I didn’t apologise, I did.. I did everything.. Shannon I did everything you wanted… Everything!” I screamed.
His eyes were red, is he feeling sorry now? What sort of human is he? Is he even an human?
“Ok,i understand..now I know it’s a crime to love you so much..To love you is to be ill-treated or to commit suicide…Oh that’s what you want, that is what I haven’t done yet.. To be loved by you is for me to kill myself…Of course, I’ll continue to be the fool you’ve turned me into and I’m gonna commit suicide if…” He pulled me closer,stared at my wet eyes and cheeks and my busy lips…He leaned over and kissed me..
He kissed me?
I slowly reciprocated but he stopped and said..
“I lost two people I loved, I don’t want to lose you too”
Then he continued to kiss me and I didn’t resist.
