EPISODE 19
Shannon’s POV
“Hello Uncle Justin” I said into the phone after hesitating to receive his call.
I wondered why he called me. It’s more than three months since I left his house and he’s just calling me¿ He is not even concerned about our welfare.
“Shannon can you hear me? ”
“Should I act like can’t? ” Uncle Justin, I may decide to just hang up the call right now” I told him.
“I’m sorry Shannon I really am. I know I should have stood by you when my wife treated you badly but it was like she has taken over me. How are you doing? and how is my Emily? ” He asked and I scoffed, I knew he heard me.
“We are doing very fine. Thanks to a good samaritan..and how about aunt Gilda,the murderer who thinks she is anonymous” I said.
“She’s sorry too.. You are still on it Shannon, Gilda didn’t kill your parents” Uncle Justin said.
“Well, the case is re-opened so thanks for calling anyway and inform your wife I would return to prove myself right” I said before disconnecting the call before he could say more words.
After some months, he is just calling me…What sort of uncle is he?
I dailed Mr Jeremy’s number.
“Mr Jeremy, let’s talk at the coffee shop we met last” I said.

“Should I order for coffee or you don’t want? ” Mr Jeremy said.
“I know it’s a coffee shop but I’m not here to drink coffee” I told him..
“My Uncle’s wife is a suspect Infact she did it” I said.
“What Shannon? You know you can’t just point at anyone and call him or her a suspect especially with no proof” Mr Jeremy said.
“I know, I know right..¿Aunt Gilda has always been jealous of my parents.She.. ”
He interrupted me.
“Don’t you think the culprit could be someone really close to you? ”
“Someone close to me? who else if it’s not aunt Gilda! It can’t be you b’cos you were with me eight years ago when it happened..I remembered vividly you took me home and left then when I got inside the house ,Mom was in a pull of blood.. Aunt Gilda must have killed my mom and sent an assassin to kill Dad.it’s a simple logic” I said.
“If you insist that Gilda is the murderer then I’ll look into it” Mr Jeremy said.
I sighed and rubbed my hands together like I was cold.
“By the way, do you like Mr Bryant? ” He asked me.
“Why not? I mean he’s a very nice man and b’cos of him, I’m back to high school..a million of thanks can’t show how grateful I am to him” I said and Mr Jeremy nodded somehow.
“Does he stare at your face almost everyday?”
“No,what do you mean? ”
“I mean haven’t he seen the resemblance? you look like your dad”
“Mr Jeremy,it’s easy to tell Mr Bryant that I’m the late Mr Dawton’s son but I don’t know why you insist that I shouldn’t tell him”
“I just feel like he should find out himself and if he doesn’t, we will tell him” Mr Jeremy said.
I frowned “When when things work out smoothly, I would find a way to pay him back for his kindness” I said and Mr Jeremy didn’t say anything rather than to force out a smile.

Jasmine’s POV
“I know the latest gist” My mom said to me when I walked out of Shannon’s room.
He wasn’t around. Emily said he went to see someone and he couldn’t even tell me.
I’m 100% certain it’s not a girl.
“What lastest gist mom? ” I asked and she whispered into my ears.
“You and Shannon are now a thing”
“Mo..Mom, who told you that? ”
“My instinct, I knew it” Mom said smiling.
“Well, it’s not how you see it”
“Tell me then”
I kept mute..
“I’m happy for you Jasmine. You can actually date anyone as far as he is a guy” Mom said.
How did she get to know?
“Don’t you want to tell me about it? ”
“No” I sharply responded.
“Well incase you change your mind to tell me, I’m always here” My mom said tinkling with my cheeks and playing with my hair and I tried as much not to blush, smile or laugh or I won’t know when I’ll tell her EVERYTHING.
Alex’s POV
I was in the room,editing some pictures with my laptop when I heard a knock on my door.
I know it would be Shannon, he has to explain what’s going on between my sister and him and how it happened.
I opened the door only to see my Dad _ –
“Dad” I muttered “Come in”
“Of course I will” My Dad said as he entered and I closed the door behind him.
“It’s unusual,coming to see me privately” I said when Dad sat on my bed.
“Am I not welcome? ” Dad asked.
“C’mon Dad, anytime”
“You’ve been busy lately Alex, you leave home earlier than I do sometimes and return home late” Dad said.
“It’s Ivy, she got a good catch and I’m completely crazy over her..so I spend the whole of my time with her” I said and Dad laughed.
“You’re reminding me of how I met your mom, we were in high school then…now see what love has done to us” Dad said.
I smiled “I think Ivy is the final girl for me and forever”
“You made the right choice son” He patted me on the back.. “So are you prepared to work in my company?”

“Dad, you said I’ll work there next year”
“I’m getting old Alex.. I just thought of handling it over to you this year” Dad said.
“Well if that’s what you want, do you expect me to say no? ”
“Good boy” He patted me on my shoulders again..
“Were you busy with something and am i disturbing you? ” He asked staring at my laptop.
“Not at all”
“And how is the Camera? ”
“There” I pointed to the table. “I love it even more than my last one”
Dad stood up and walked towards the table ” I wanna see the pictures if you didn’t mind”
“It’s contains only the pictures of Ivy and I” I told him when he was about to raise the camera up and view the pictures..
“So you finally decided to turn some pictures into hard copies and you couldn’t even tell me” Dad said.
“What? I never converted any into hardcopies” I said walking towards him.
“This” He pointed at a picture slightly showing in between a book.
Then he took the book and brought out the picture.
He trembled after seeing the picture.
“Alex, where did you get this picture from?”
I came closer to see the picture he was talking about.
“Oh, Shannon gave it to me to sketch it out, they are his late parents” I said and Dad dropped the picture immediately.
“Oh no” He said to himself as he placed two palms on his mouth and move backward steadily.
“Daddy? What’s wrong? ” I asked..
I was confused
“Not..Nothing Alex, I.. I will excuse you now” Dad said rushing out of my room
