Alicia gave him pleading eyes that felt almost impossible to reject especially in her condition.
“Um..” Jeremy rubbed his temples thoughtfully, lost for what to say.
“Oh my goodness, Alicia!” Fiona suddenly walked into the room, rushing to where Alicia was.
“Hey,” Brianna walked in behind her, Jeremy gave her a curt nod and watched as Brianna and Alicia got into a conversation.
“I’ll be back!” Jeremy informed them and quickly rushed out of the room.
Alicia opened her mouth to stop him but he was already out of the room by then, she wondered why he was in such a hurry to go to wherever he was going to and at the same time she hoped it had nothing to do with Rebecca.
As her gaze left the door, it suddenly landed on Fiona and she held up a frown at her.
Brianna lowered her gaze, low-key regretting why she had bothered visiting in the first place.

Jeremy rushed out of the school building, it was almost void of people at that time of the day, he found his way to the parking lot and looked around, searching for Rebecca.
He walked around the lot when he didn’t find her and kept going between the fleet of cars and other vehicles. Rebecca was nowhere there.
His brows lowered and he let out a tired sigh.
He brought out his phone.
**I’m at the lot. You’re not there**
He sent her a text.
He got a reply after one minute of extra searching and cross checking.
**I totally forgot to tell you, I’m in class. It started earlier than I thought**
Came her reply.
Jeremy breathed out and ran a hand through his hair.
Another text message came in.
**Let’s meet after school, I’ll wait for you at the lot** she texted him again.
**Okay**
Jeremy replied the text before pocketing his phone. He took it out and sent her another text.
**How’s your new class BTW?**
.

After Jeremy arrived at the class, an unfamiliar student was introduced to them. She was Rebecca’s substitute and as the homeroom teacher announced it, murmurings filled the class.
“What! Rebecca was transferred?” Jose suddenly stood up after the brief introduction. “Why? Why was she transferred?” He continued.
“I’m not in the position to tell y’all why, I’m just here to introduce you all to Shirley,” the homeroom teacher.
“That’s bullshit! How can Reb-
The glare he earned from the teacher shut the rest of his words.
“Hey, calm down!” Luke, his friend nudged at him.
“If you all have a thing against Rebecca, why don’t you just kick her out of this damn school? Why treating her like she’s an animal?” Jose inquired, swatting his friend’s arm away.
“Jose! will you calm down and sit?” The homeroom teacher asked calmly.
“I just want to know why Rebecca was transferred” he said. “She’s my friend and unlike you guys, I care about her a lot, so I demand to know why she had to be transferred” he said. The teacher gave him a look, seeing that he wasn’t ready to back out, she sighed.
“Don’t say that, Jose, we all care about Rebecca and she had to be transferred because her presence was starting to get intimidating for one of you” she explained.
“Intimidating? Who said that?” Jose pushed.
“Alicia. And according to the agreement, she had to get transferred” the teacher explained, shaking his head for spilling out such a vital information. “Alicia’s absent as you can see and that’s because she’s with the nurse, due to stress from Rebecca. She has simply been keeping quiet about it all along” she explained.
Jose scoffed.
“Like I was saying, be nice to your new classmate!” The homeroom teacher ended her former speech and walked out before Jose could say another word.

Before school ended, Harrison informed Jeremy that Alicia had been taken home and he sounded very relief. He glanced sideways and stared at his new seatmate that had taken over Rebecca’s seat. She didn’t talk much but with the few words she said, Jeremy could tell she was nice.
.
Rebecca heard the bell jingle and she walked out of the class, having her backpack with her.
Her new class? She haven’t found a word to describe it yet. Everyone had totally acted like she wasn’t even there and she liked it except for when she heard two of her classmates gossiping about her.
She waved it off; as long as they didn’t say it to her face, she wasn’t going to confront them.
After her introduction, she found a seat at the back and her seatmate, an obvious nerd had helped her with the timetable which was not very different from her former one and she introduced herself as Grace. Rebecca didn’t mark her as a friend or anything close because she knew, Grace probably had no idea who she was YET.

She walked out of the school building and head to the parking lot but paused for a moment when she found her mom waiting for her outside her car. She waved at her for notice and Rebecca walked to her.
“Mom?” She called. “What are you doing here and not our driver?”

“I met with the principal just a while ago so I decided to pick you up after it and again, your father insisted I do” she said.
“Oh..,” Rebecca said, looking around the parking lot, hoping to see him.
“He’s home and waiting for us” her mother added. “Come-on, get in!”
Rebecca nodded and got into the car, Mrs McCoy started the car.

Rebecca was glad when her mom said nothing up to the middle of the ride, she knew she wanted to talk but she didn’t. Rebecca relaxed and brought out her phone when she got a text.

Jeremy paused with a sigh, it was his second search in the lot and he found no sign of Rebecca.
Could she still be In class?
He remembered the homeroom teacher saying what class Shirley was at before she got transferred to theirs.
He left the lot and went to the class. It was almost empty and he stared around but he didn’t see her among the few students left in the class.
He walked out and took out his phone.
**Where are you?** he texted.
**Oops! I totally forgot, I had to go home. It was impromptu so I couldn’t tell you. But, I’ll be at the library by five, let’s meet there**
She replied.
Jeremy sighed heavily before turning back to the stairs.
.
.

Rebecca took off her bag and went to the smallest drawer, she fished out the keys from a shoe in her shoe rack and opened it. Staring at everything in the drawer, she brought out her music diary and shut the drawer.
She unlocked it on and was about opening it when she heard the door of her room click.
She quickly dropped it on her nightstand when her dad walked in uninvited.
She turned to face him.
“Hey,” he smiled, opening his arm.
“Hey,” she replied, walking away from the nightstand into his arms as he hugged her.
“How are you doing?” He asked.
“I’m good” she replied.
They sat on her bed, his arm still crossed over her shoulder. “Tell me the truth, honey, do you like your new class? Your mom told me everything. Are you really okay?”
“I’m fine, dad; really. And there’s actually not much difference from my former class” he said.
“You’re sure? I was thinking you might want a new school. I would get you registered in one, if you want” he said.
“That won’t be necessary. I’m okay, seriously” she said.
“Okay,” he said “but you can always tell me if you start to feel uncomfortable anytime, okay?” He asked and she nodded.
“Alright,” he rubbed her shoulder, taking his arm off it. “I’ll leave you to change now” he said and stood up.

Rebecca watched him as he walked to the door but he paused and her heart made a leap. His brows narrowed and he walked towards her nightstand. With each step, Rebecca could feel her heartbeat aggravating in fear.
He picked up the diary from under a book where she hid it. He stared at it skeptically for a brief moment and turned to her.
“I thought I tore this?” He said.
“U-um y.. yeah” she nodded, her breathing ragged.
“So how come it’s here?” He inquired.
“I.. got another one actually” she said.
“Oh..” he said and opened it, going through the content.
“Music?” He stared at her, anger filling his eyes. “You didn’t drop this?” He asked.
“Um..
“How many times do I have to tell you, Rebecca?” He asked, his voice cold.
“Dad I-
He shut her off as he tore the book into shreds repeatedly.
“This is the last time, Rebecca! Trust me, you wouldn’t like what would happen to you if I find any of this with you again!” He said. “Now I know why you’ve been getting really low scores lately. I’ll let this one pass, Rebecca but not another time! You know me!”
