THE GIRL HE MARKED Chapter 34

The evening was slowly approaching but the moon was nowhere to be found at the meantime.

Diana sat on her bed wondering about a lot of things in her head, her legs folded to her chest as if the night held danger for her.

She sighed a million times as the doctors words repeated in her head.

” You’ll begin to notice some abilities but that’s something we’ll find out during the full moon. But for now, we say your a human. “

And if her maths was right, it was full moon tonight. ” No, you’re not a wolf. I can’t be a wolf. ” She mumbled to herself.

Then she remembered Pamela’s letter. Since she took it from underneath the lamp stand, she hasn’t opened it yet.

She has no idea of what was written in it. She took it out from her makeup drawer where she had kept it.

Diana ✓

I slowly open the letter as if it was some kinda atomic bomb letter or something.

Or maybe I’m just being too scared of what is written in it. Was it something that has to do with the future… My future??

Why do I feel like what ever her instincts had told her is the truth? Why do I feel like nothing seems to be going right?

My heart is heating hard against my chest for some letter?

Its definitely not how you think, it’s more to it than just being frightened.

I finally opened it, staring at the writing but not reading it. I sighed, returning my gaze back to the beginning of the letter.

” Dear Diana, reading this means you have seen my

letter. I know I should have just come to you face to

face and have it discussed with you, but I can’t.

But I am happy you are ready to listen to what I have

to say.

First, I wanna say a big thank you for everything. You

might be wondering why I am saying this, I think you

deserve it more than anyone. Since my whole life, the

only thing I’ve always wanted is to love and to be

loved. I’ve always doubted I’ll find someone like that

in my life, but you proved me wrong. I did find

someone, and that’s you.

Now, this is why I had written this letter to you. I

always doubt my instincts and I end up regretting it.

But this time, I ain’t gonna doubt what it tells me this

time. Diana, if no one knows, I already know what you

are. I felt it the moment Reyhon bit you. And when

Derek did the same, I knew you aren’t gonna be the

same again. I don’t fear you but, I just think it’s safer

if you have to find out what you are yourself. The full

moon will, I’m very sure of that. But just know one

thing for sure, you are no longer a human, Diana.

You’re more than that.

I will miss you, Diana. I wish to meet you someday. “

Diana held the paper to her chest, small drops of tears ran out of her eyes. ” I will miss you too, Mela. Till we meet someday. “

She followed May as they headed to a room. ” Where are we going to? ” She asked while she trailed behind her.

” We’ll find out soon and besides, we’re almost there. ” May assured her with a smile.

She rolled her eyes tiredly, ” My legs are already tired and it’s almost like we’re having a missionary journey to nowhere. ” She grunted.

” Don’t worry, Diana, we’re there already. ” She opened the door which led to a dim light room.

” What’s this place? ” She asked and just then, she heard Derek’s voice.

May left the room, shutting it gently after her. She went further to where Derek, Bella, Micheal and Greg stood.

” Derek? ” She called and he turned to look at her.

He came close to her, holding her cheeks. ” How do you feel? ” He asked, worriedly.

” Yeah, I’m fine. ” She gave an assuring smile. ” I really am. “

” We should get everything ready. ” Bella said from where she stood.

” Get what ready? ” Diana asked confused.

” Diana, ” she heaved a sigh, ” it’s the full moon tonight and we want to check what kind of wolf you’ve become. We actually wanna help you find out what you are. “

She nodded, ” I understand now. I’m ready. “

” Hey sweetheart, ” Greg came closer to her, with a smile on his face. ” it’s been long we last met. “

She chuckled softly, ” Miss me already? ” She playfully asked

” Always. ” He said and Derek rolled his eyes. ” Well, just as Bella just said, we just wanna help. “

” So, are we just gonna stand here or, is there something else? ” She asked, staring at the four of them.

Bella brought a big chain, one big enough to push a trailer. But surprisingly to her, Bella held it like she was holding a tea cup.

She widened her eyes, ” What is that for? ” She asked, still not able to believe that would be for her.

” Can you get something much better than that. Please? ” Derek said, calmly.

Bella rolled her eyes, ” Fine. “

He turns to Diana, ” Don’t worry, everything is gonna be just fine. “

” I know. “

Just then, Bella brought a medium sized chain. She looked at Derek for any opposition but he said nothing.

” Guess this is much better. ” She whispered to herself.

Bella used the chain to hold Diana in her both hands and feet, chained to the wall.

” You might turn and… this is gonna hurt badly but… ” He sounded more worried every second.

” Derek, I’ll be fine, okay? I’m ready for this. ” He nods. ” Just in case I turn and… ” looks at the window, ” sneak out of that window, ” looks back at him. “Don’t hesitate to come find me. “

” I’ll come find you, I promise. “

While everyone were waiting for the full moon, Diana kept pinching her fingers.

Her fears were increasing as she thought of how it felt transforming to a wolf. She shut her eyes, sighing heavily.

” The moon is near. ” Bella said as they stared out of the window. ” What now? ” She asked.

” We wait. ” Replied Greg.

Derek has been staring at Diana who was staring back at him. His hand folded around his chest and the other support his jaw.

She waved a smile at him which he responded back.

Then he went to tell Micheal something. Her body began to itch her, first from her neck then to the back of her ears.

Her toes too, and she wasn’t getting enough of the itchy pains, she started moving her head at both sides continuously, making a low growling sound.

Bella noticed it, ” Derek, ” she silently called him, and when he turned to look at her, she pointed at Diana.

” Diana? ” He rushed to her, holding her both cheeks, raising it up to his. ” Diana? “

She opened her closed eyes, her eyes dark red in colour. She rowled, breaking free from the strong chains. Her body twisted making a cracking sound.
