Chidinma wondered why Rema didn’t travel anymore. Today was supposed to be his concert at Vietnam. She had called his phone yester night to wish him goodluck but he didn’t pick her calls. It was nkem who picked and when she asked him to give the phone to Rema,he told her he can’t…That he is very busy, they didn’t travel. She asked him why they didn’t travel….
Nkem didn’t tell her. Instead he told her not to worry too much.

Whatever…

What matters most is that she will see him tonight,and of course to inform him about their baby.
She imagined how his reaction would look like once she tells him.
“Ma’am your drugs” the nurse brought her out of her little world.
She explained everything to her and gave her another lists of foods she should eat regularly.
She looked in the bill and went ahead to pay to the receptionist.

“I like your outfits…..most importantly your sneakers” Clara gush over Chidinma. She hands the receipt to her.
“Thank you” Chidinma replied simply and turned to leave but on her second thought she turned back to Clara.

“You like my outfits right?” She asked.
“Ohh yeah, I love it. Can I touch the material?”
“Sure”.
Clara touched the smooth nude colored gym training wear Chidinma had on. She likes the feel on the skin. She hasn’t seen that particular design in a while and she will gladly buy if she sees it around. But can she find something like this around?”.

“It’s not expensive…the gym wear set is just 20k. I can give you for 13k, that’s the importing price. 8k is just my own gain” Chidinma explained.
“You sell them?” Clara asked,surprised.
“Yeah,here” Chidinma opened her bag she brought out her fashion diary resort phamplet she gave it ti her.
Clara opened the phamplet,she was stunned.

“Ohh god,this are all beautiful- you don’t sell only wear, you also sell bags,shoes and even jewelry……”

“Yeah,you can make a direct order on my Instagram. Although I still have more goods, not all are in the phamplet. Hopefully my fashion resort will launch open this month”.

“Ohhh…god you will really make fast sales. I mean your wears and everything are not so common. You items will sold out soon. Can I have more phamplet for my friends?”

“Sure….can you follow me to my car, I have more there”…
“Okay”
Clara followed her. Chidinma opened her other big Hermes bag and counted many phamplet for Clara.
This is really so good,she will help her advertise. Nonso already helped her share more than a hundred phamplet in his school and those rich kids have been buying from her, even Lila patronised her. Queen chiamaka is just her regular customer.

“All right bye”
“Yeah,my pleasures”.
She got inside her car. The next place for her o go that morning was Fuzimas Jewelry industry. She doubts if her designs will be accepted but she just have to try. Her phone beeped,a call.

Who??? Queen chiamaka. She picked immediately.
“I called your phone,earlier?”
“I’m sorry Mom,I left it in the car. I was busy in the……” She paused. Does she have to explain to her in details.
“good morning, Mom” she quickly said.
“good morning, Princess” queen chiamaka beamed. She will ask Chidinma to send her parents location to her.
“Thank you mother,do you need anything?” She asked.
“Ohh not really,have you eaten? You said you’re busy,what are you busy with…..hope you’re not over working yourself?”

“Not really. I was busy in the hospital”.
“Hospital? Are you sick?”
“No,am not …it’s just……emmm”
“Hope it’s not something serious,I really need to fly you out for treatment…
“No mom,I’m fine it’s just that….am…am…” She pressed her lips together. “Am preggie” she stated,not wanting to call the full word.
“Ohh my godd!!!! I will have a grand child!! Which hospital are you now?”

“No,am out already.”
“Okay,I will send bodyguards to follow you every where you go now”

“I don’t need protection mother” she chuckled.
“Who said am bringing body guards for you? It’s for my little grand child”

The two laughed.
“Okay Mom,as you wish….but can you not tell Obim about it”..
“My tongue is sealed”…
“I trust you mom,take care”

Finally,she arrived at Fuzimas.
The cold air conditioner refreshed her warm body.
“Hi good morning” she stopped at the receptionist to pick a number.
So many people came here to present their designs,and she wondered if she will get a chance. Cos she doesn’t have any qualifications…
Nonso already told her it depends on the way she carries herself, not everything is about qualifications….sometimes it might be luck, grace pending on hardwork and presentation. Sometimes stage appearance.

The cue didn’t last long. Finally,it was her turn. The office door slide open to her face. A board of directors where facing her jeezzzz.

“Good morning,have your seat?” A woman gestured her. She took a seat and sat like the high class model she was.

“What’s your name?”

“Chidinma Hampson” she answered very fluently.
“Chidinma Hampson…seems have heard of it somewhere……or are you that girl?????”

“Twin Sisters movie trailer! Waoow”
“Yeah. I am an upcoming actress”
“Good to have you here…you and that boy, the mathematics champions winner shares the same surname….are you related or it’s just a…”

“He’s my brother”
“You look alike already. Let’s talk business”
“Sure thing” Chidinma pressed her lips together, she does that only when she’s nervous.

“Is that your designing book? Let me take a look”

She handed it to the head director with both hands. The man’s face was stoic. Hid face softened a bit the moment he opened her design book.
“Nice designs,very nice” he complimented, he passed her design book round to the others.

“Very beautiful,I’m impressed”.

“Miss Hampson. Can you excuse us a bit, we will call you back minutes after”

Chidinma nodded and waited after the door patiently.
“Her designs are really beautiful, it looks like a best seller”
“We can bring it out on fabric as well”.

“Come in,miss hampson”.

She dragged in a long breath before walking in.
“Your designs are really different and perfect, if you don’t mind. We will like to work with you , we will offer 23million naira for a start”

“Twenty threeeeeee!!!!!!!

“Yes!!!!

It seems chidinma didn’t hear well. “2 and 3” she said again,she can’t believe her eyes.
“Is it too small? Okay we will make it 26 and you will still get some tips off it once it’s out of promotion”.

Right now she wants to scream out happily. But she just smiled. “That’s such a good offer. I will work with you for as long as you want” she smiled.
“Welcome officially” the boards shook hands with her one after the other.
The female director assisted her in signing the important documents. She also got a copy file agreement.
The 26millionaira was transferred to her account immediately. She actually thought she was still dreaming until she returned to her car. She checked her account balance more than three times

“Ohh heavens….I can believe this, two happy news in just a single day. First it was my pregnancy news,now this…” She caressed her flat Tommy. Most of her thank you went to nonso. He has been helping her a lot in her career and everything. He was the one who searched about fuzimas platform, booked an appointment on her behalf and told her to give it a trial.

“I must surely get another gift for him today”.
She was just so happy,she didn’t bother eating, she drove straight to the commercial complex and just as she predicted….
Thelma was angry with her for coming late and she made excuses.

“There’s punishment for coming late, go and reflect on your punishment in the gym room”.
“Ma’am,i told you I was sick….”
Thelma looked at her and reconsidered. “For the sake of queen chiamaka,I spare you today”.

“Thank you ma’am. I’m done with my scripts”…
“The filming is 1pm. Go and warm up in the gym, you have a shoot by 12”

Now she feels so hungry, she knew her cravings will soon arrive. So she ordered food online in case.
Olive exit the gym hall immediately Chidinma entered,she pitied her. If only she knows what Nora did to her,how she painted her black in front of everyone.

Why is everyone looking at me?? Chidinma noticed. But who cares? She doesn’t even give a damn.

“Seems am the focus point!”
She said and she started hearing things.

Chidinma didn’t even reply,she knew it was Nora’s doing. The insults was too much and when she couldn’t bare it anymore, she went to the center of the hall for everyone to see her well. Nora started it first and she will so deal with her,next time if she sees her she won’t dare.

“I can feel all eyes in me and yes,I have answers to your questions” she said so loudly.
“Yeah,I am a groundnut seller. And I never regretted being one, in fact I will start selling again”
“Igboitic girl…..yeah,am proud to be one. That’s why i prefer bearing my local dialect name instead of my English name”…
“With time,you will know if I have sugar daddy or not….. I want to use a celebrity to trend, with time you will know if he’s my fiance or not”
She waved her ringed finger..
“The car I brought today…if you’re jealous go and die and in fact you will die by fire or thunder, anyone sharper!!.

“Im uneducated….yes because I want you all to watch how an uneducated girl will win this show. And guess who have the highest endorsement deals… It’s me “an uneducated igboitic girl”…

“Tell them baby!!!” Olive chuckled from the other far end
Everyone was quiet. They messed up eith the wrong person.

“Yeah,I am telling them baby….”
“And feel free to patronize my fashion diary resort since you’re all curious to know why I get my nice wears….what I wear is not always common and you want to know the secret, olive tell them!…
Olive who already held a bunch of phamplet started sharing… The girls are more than 500+ and counting. A very huge platform for her items to sold out quickly.

Nora is really senseless and this is just the beginning.
“Share to Nora as well,her eyes has been on my earrings since I entered this hall” Chidinma said,her voice full of mockery.
The rest of the day was silent. No gossip about her, everyone wants to be her friend. Nora’s friends started talking to her.
Annie,the governor’s daughter clings to Chidinma throughout the day.

Rema was drove with a very heavy heart, he already cried his break up tears in the day so if she just break up with him this night, he won’t have to cry anymore.
“Am waiting,i can’t see you” he texts.
“Am inside the purple car behind your car”

Rema turned in an instant, he sighted the pretty car behind him and he fisted his hands to the sides. He knew it,….
Is she in another man’s car???
Philip’s car??????
Are you coming or not??? Chidinma texts.

Rema tightened his dimple…… Jealousy visible in his eyeballs,his eyeballs were dark,he looked so angry,an angry bird.
“I can’t come,you come” he sent.
Chidinma listened to his voice message, this is not the rema she knew. Is voice is so cold.. like he’s pushing her away.

“What?? Did he find out that am pregnant and doesn’t want to see me anymore!! Chidinma whimpered. A long minute dragged, she didn’t leave her car.
Rema was surprised she took long to come.

When she came,he beeped his car open for her to enter…
Chidinma entered and closed the door. She started thinking if she had done something bad,his expression shoes that he’s really angry. The only thing bright out his face was his thick eyebrow.
“Honey” she called.
Rema looked at her…
No words.
“I wanted to see you cos I wanted to tell you something but you don’t look happy at all” she said.

“What were you doing in that car?” He asked.
“It’s my car,he just got it for me……any problem?” She asked.

He just got it for me……nice one!
“No problem” his face brightened. Jewel already did well in ruining his chance,he should be mad at jewel,not at chidinma.
“What you wanted to tell me?” He said.
Chidinma opened her back and brought out the two papers from the hospital. She handed it to him.

Rema tool his lips in,cutely…..did she want to break up with me in papers.
“Can I get a kiss?” He asked,at least before opening the break up papers.
Chidinma was surprised,he doesn’t ask for her permission before touching her,what now?
“Sure” she replied.
Rema leaned in and kissed her very deeply… He let out his emotions in the kiss.
“Rema,are you sure you’re okay” Chidinma unlocked from the kiss. She kissed the place she admired most on him.
“I’m pregnant for you,honey. I have our baby, your kid” she stated happily, she whyned the tinted glass window up and did the driver’s seat to the back so she could lay on him in a perfect position.

“I will have our kids…..am very happy”

Rema was still in shock. He opened the papers immediately.
3weeks pregnant…
Her drug and food chart….

“Where you not with Philip,he brought that car for you right???” He asked,still confused.
Chidinma got angry,why will he think like that?

“Honey are you crazy?” She asked,she slapped his arm with all her strength, she leaned in and bite his chest. “Why will you think like that?” She hit him,again.
“I’m sorry I…….”
She shut him up with a kiss, a feverish and unending kiss that proved her point about her being his….
His alone.
