“Sharon, are you sure about this? It sounds ridiculous to me” King Ephraim said as he walked into his chambers with his daughter behind him – whining like a child.

“Yes, father. please. I’m very sure. I really need this” princess Sharon grouse, her face crumbling up.

“But why would you make such a request in the first place, huh? Why would you want to be under someone as possessive as Lord Xander?” King Ephraim asked, stopping and turning to spare her a glance.

“I…. I just want to. Please father, don’t say no. This would really mean a lot to me” Sharon clasped her palms together and said with pleading eyes.

Oh…! She really needed this man to agree.

King Ephraim didn’t say a word as he took off his Royal robe and gold belt as well. And as he did, Sharon could only stand and watch in anticipation..

“You can leave, Sharon. I’ll think about it and get back to you” he finally said and a smile crept into Sharon’s face.

Yesss!

“Oh! Thank you so much, father. I’m grateful” she answered happily and left.

On her way, she couldn’t help but feel so elated about it because she knew her father pretty well. Saying he’d think about it only meant he’s agreed and that was a good start for her.

Finally, she was taking her second step of becoming close to Lord Xander.

Kaylan and Jaden
were both in the room with Kaylan sitting in front of the mirror while Jaden brushed her hair.

“Mmm! I’m such a good hair stylist, you know? Take a look at how pretty your hair looks now” Jaden praised herself as she continued working on the hair.

“Seriously Jaden? Did you style my hair or you just brushed it?” Kaylan rolled her eyes.

“Hmph. Learn to be grateful, you princess! Your hair wasn’t looking this neat and beautiful before now. Perhaps, I should’ve just let you be” Jaden snorted but continued with the hair anyways.

And for almost a minute, the two ladies were silent.

“I miss home” Kaylan suddenly said, placing her hands on her cheeks.
“I miss my mum, I miss… The fun. Goodness! I can’t believe I’ve been here for other a week”.

“Hmph. Well, I do miss it a little. But to be frank with you, staying in this mansion has changed you a bit. Like… you don’t have to fight every single day, or steal, or…”

“I don’t steal, Jaden” Kaylan turned quickly to look at her.

“Yeah, I know you don’t. But you forcefully take things from people when they offend you and that’s still stealing, Kaylan. But since you got here, all that has stopped. Especially after Lord Xander had you whipped. It’s…”

“Stop reminding me of that” Kaylan snapped in, almost making Jaden laugh.

“Xander didn’t influence my decision okay? I can still gamble if I want to” she rolled her eyes.

“Hmph. Indeed…”

Just then, a knock came on the door and Jaden decided to go check it out. And on opening the door, she discovered it was Axel – the chief guard

“What do you want?” She snapped, still holding the door and not letting him in.
Over the days, she and Kaylan had generated some sort of anger for him regarding the fact he was the one who’d whipped her.

Kaylan had wanted to beat him up for it, but considering how huge he was, it was obvious he was going to beat her to unconsciousness. So, she just let it slide.

“Is Princess Kaylan in?” Axel asked, trying to sound calm.

“Where else would she be, huh? She doesn’t want to be whipped anymore” Jaden replied sarcastically, making Axel stiffen his shoulders a little

“I’m here on Lord Xander’s orders. Tell hee to get ready before the next hour bell goes off. She’s to dress lovely and look responsible” he said and turned around to leave.
Huh?.

“Wait…!” Jaden called him back. “Wh…Why? I mean, Why should she get dressed?”

Axel stared at her for a little while.

“She’ll be accompanying him for that first time” he answered perfunctorily and funally left before Jaden would ask more questions.

Huh? Was Kaylan going out with Xander??
