Just me (Me against the world) Chapter 12

👉 Caitlyn’s P. O. V👈

I sighed as I wait for a bus at the bus stop.
I’ve been waiting here but no sign of mom so I decided to call it a day.
I even asked people about her but they said they don’t know her.
A bus stopped right in front of me and some people alighted while others and I boarded the bus.
I eye searched everywhere looking for an empty seat and I sighted one at the back so I walked there.
Seated close to the window was a cute guy.
He had black hair, pretty lips.
He glanced at me then looked away.
I blinked twice to know if I was in a dream or not.
“are you gonna sit or keep staring at me ” he asked still looking outside through the window.
He’s voice is so angelic.
I gently sat beside him, stealing glances of him at short intervals.
He’s just so cute!
I don’t think he’s the interactive type.
I looked around when the song “like you ” by Tatiana Manaois started playing, searching for where’s its playing from.
The cute guy looked at me weirdly, shook his head at my dumb act for not knowing that it was his phone that was ringing and it was beside me.
He picked up the incoming call with a smile on his face.
“hey mom ” he said into the phone, smiling widely.
Wow! He’s such an angel when he smiles.
“common mom, I just left the house few mins ago and you’re dead worried, chill I’m on my way home ” he said and chuckled.
Only if I could find my mom and experience a mother’s love and care.
He burst out laughing and I couldn’t help but smile too.
His mother must be so funny.
“yeah you caught me mom, I was heading to James house but now that you’ve caught me, I’m coming home ” he said and chuckled.
“OK love you too ” he said and ended the call.
He looked at me and saw me smiling but his smile faded and he put on a serious face then looked away.
What! He only smiles to people he knows?
And here I was, willing to make a new friend.
He sucks at making new fiends.
“your pay ma’am ” the Conductor said and I nodded then shook my hand into my bag searching for money.
“here ” that cutie paid his.
“ma’am you’re wasting my time ” the conductor said.
I’m only touching few coins in my bag.
“sorry “I said and started bringing out girly stuffs from my bag so I can look for the money.
“take her pay ” that cutie said, handing the conductor my pay.
I looked at him not even knowing what to say.
He’s indeed an angel.
“thanks ” I said but he didn’t even look at me.
“thank you so much, really thanks ” I said and he sighed.
He placed the headphone that was around his neck on his neck and rested his head on the headrest with his eyes closed.
What an attitude!
I was only trying to show I was grateful but to him I was disturbing his peace.
The bus stopped at a station and he got up to leave
“bye and thanks ” I said as he got down.
Mins later I arrived at my bus stop and got down.
I entered the compound and headed to the door.
I was about opening the door but someone beat me to it from the inside.
It was Cindy and Larry.
“look who we’ve got here ” she said.
I rolled my eyes and went in then ran up to my room.
I don’t have time for fools.
They’re just good together.
Two fools in love.
I sighed and laid on my bed.
What a day!

“Larry I can’t find that so called maid in the house ” Cindy seethed with hands folded around her chest.
“so” I asked rudely.
“so? I want her to prepare me food I don’t wanna eat the leftovers ” she pouted.
“then starve ” I said and she rolled her eyes.
“you’re so impossible ” she said and left the room.
So Caitlyn left the house without permission?
She’s so gonna get it from me when she comes back.
I got up and went downstairs too.
Cindy was eating the leftovers of the lasagna.
I sat on a couch and switched on the TV.
Aiish! Where could she have gone to?
What if she’s in danger? Or was she kidnapped?
Ah why am I thinking like this? What do I even care?
“hey ” Cindy said and sat beside me on the couch.
“leave me alone ” I said and rested my head on the headrest.
“why ” she asked and I sighed.
Great! She ask too many questions and I’m not in the mood!
“I think you should leave now ” I blurted out.
“are you chasing me out ” she asked, feigning hurt.
“just leave ”
“but I’m your girlfriend ” she said and I didn’t know when I burst out laughing.
“seriously? I don’t remember asking you to be my girlfriend “I said, chuckling.
“I mean I just use you to pass time and nothing more ” I added.
“but I love you ” she said sternly.
“Cindy Just leave already, I’ll call you when I need you “I said and took her arm then walked her to the door.
I opened the door to see Caitlyn.
Thank God she’s fine.
“look who we’ve got here ” Cindy said.
Caitlyn walked in and ran up to her room.
“bye honey ” Cindy pecked my cheek and left.
I slammed the door and turned to go meet Caitlyn but stopped when the door bell rang.
It better not be Cindy.
I opened the door to see dad and that slut of his.
This woman is just having an affair with dad for his money.
She thinks she’s playing dad not knowing dad is a smartie.
I rolled my eyes and went to seat on the couch.
Annoying people.

After freshening up, I dressed up and walked out through the door.
I’ve to make dinner.
Already close to the stairs, I sighted Mr Brown and mom Rena.
Holy shit! What’s she doing here?
