BELIEVE EPISODE 20

[the girl he never noticed]

got scared as my hand touched his blood; too bad I had placed that same hand on him,
my five fingers stained and showed on Hus white top.
I couldn’t touch him anymore,
what if I infect him with my skin, he his so pure to be touched by me and we are two different world’s,two different lives,I thought.
ADEIFE are you okay?.
my subconsciousness hit me,
I hastily stood up and get water from the waterfall,I sprinkled it on him.
his fingers moved and he strained his eyes like he couldn’t see well.
I did not even know I was in tears. If only I had known this would happen, I would have stayed in my hideout and continue watching him since I promise to be a secret helper to him even though he never noticed me,
even though he said we should never see,we should never meet.
I believe it’s my destiny.
I already accept it like that, it’s the cross I have to bear.
not all everybody will succeed,
not everybody will be wealthy,
not everybody will get what the desire within the snap of their fingers…
so far am breathing,
me am satisfied….. but if I die and come to this world again,I will rewrite my destiny.
I bent and started fixing his royalty bead,I would clean my hands on my wrapper each time I want to touch his skin and I tried not to avoid any skin contact with him..
I cleaned my hands very well before touching his diamond bracelet,I slip it off his wrist gently and kept it with me;he is always careless with expensive things.

“my prince,are you okay?”,
I asked like he could hear.

My fear started cooking up as I heard approaching footsteps,my mind didn’t leave him but I have to.
I hastily ran past the flowers for refuge,I used the flowers for coverage.
The person happens to be princess Akuna…
“mother I found him,first!!!
“I found Lotanna!!! she shouted..
how long will she continue shouting?
next,she lean into him and kissed him on the cheeks tightly.
The royal guards showed up with the queen.I breathed in relief as I covered the flowers.
i started running,
I didn’t even see ngozi coming until she called my name and jammed me, we both stopped.
“Adeife where to-
isn’t that blood on your forehead?”, she asked.
“blood where?”, I asked as I used the back of my palm to wipe my forehead. I wiped it out completely till it was no more.
“whose blood is that?”, I asked.
“it’s Lotanna’s blood,someone hit him with stick around tbr waterfall side” I said,she covered my mouth.
we continuer walking.
“you saw him”, she said.
“yes after the attack and I helped him gained consciousness” I said,piously
“is he fine?”, she asked.
“I don’t know” I replied.
“oh so did you touch him and steal a kiss,his lips tastes sweet right?”, she asked. I scoffed.
“in my dreams”, I replied,we both laughed.
we part ways,I returned to the palace, there was no feast again,everyone already left.
not even a single maid was seen loitering around,I returned to the maids quarter.
we were just four in the room I stay and each of us sleeps in a separate bed,we live so comfortably that at times I used to wish my stay won’t expire….
I laid on my bed and used one of my wrappers for coverage,the other girls slept but I was finding difficulty in sleeping.I felt like I should be one enduring the pains.

I woke up quiet late,the girls were up before me which was quiet unusual, am always the first to wake up.
“hi hi hi” I greeted the girls..
Dumebi,Shirley and Rhoda.
“hi adeife” dumebi replied and faced the girls back.It’s obvious they were discussing.
“this palace is Now as silent as a graveyard, prince Lotanna’s incident ruin yesterday expensive feast. me that I was even happy that I would see Princess Regina,my world best… yesterday,so sad this had to happen” Shirley said.
“the news of what happened to him is out,let me call chioma” Vicky rushed out and came in with another girl….from where I sat,I stared at the girls blankly.I still checked my pillow; it was still there;
Lotanna diamond bracelet.I had remove it from his hand so that none would steal it.
chioma cleared her throat.
“the king found the attacker,there is another news that prince Lotanna got drunk” chioma said, the girls looked at each other.
“it’s a lie we all know that it is not possible.How can you say he got drunk? someone that doesn’t eat the type of food we eat here,is it possible he will get intoxicated by our drinks” Rhoda said.
“Lotanna drunk….it’s a lie,I scent him yesterday,he wasn’t smelling of alcohol” I said in my mind.
the girls continue talking.
“it wsd Akuna who saw him,she helped him gained consciousness, am sure she stole a kiss.She’s lucky with a silver spoon” Vicky said.
“wait,is akuna in this palace” dumebi asked..
“yes,she still haven’t gone to her kingdom” chioma said.
“hell ooooooo” the girls shouted and started dispersing.
I kept the bracelet in my belongings and strolled out to start my early morning work.

Tracy’s p.o.v
I stayed in his room hoping he would at least open his eyes,he didn’t.
even the city doctor got confused….
his breathing is okay, why didn’t he opened his eyes..
my fears rose to its peak,I can’t loose my brother….I love him so much even though he is hot tempered and does not listen to me..
Am even thinking of flying him out, never in my life will I allow this village physician touch him.
“aunty Tracy,why isn’t he opening his eyes?”, amarachi asked.
the doctor sighed.
“he was thinking when the incident happen,that’s why he is taking long to respond to treatment” the doctor said. Amarachi followed him out and took him to the queen.
I moved close to his bed and gently had his head placed on my laps.
Jidenna came in with his hand tucked into his trouser pocket.
“how is he???”,he asked and moved closer to touch his forehead.
he got a call and went out..
“Lotanna did I not told you to stop thinking… you do not always listen to me,please stop thinking,it’s not cute. I can’t bear to see you in pains, I wish you can listen to me,
you don’t always tell me things,
how do I even know what you’re thinking when you’re so secretive….
please just listen to me and stop thinking,even if it once in this year” I said..
he’s actually getting out of hand,

trapping him in the village is the only way mother could steal his time…
the Lotanna that I know doesn’t stay in this type of environment,
in fact he doesn’t stay in a mansion for three months, he changes mansions every three months.
I think mother has a purpose for trapping him here.
Akuna came in with a smile on her lips,I returned her smile.
“thanks for finding him yesterday”
I said.
“don’t mention,am actually doing it for myself” she said and stated at Lotanna dreamingly.
***doing it for myself** I don’t get that statement but I waved it off,
everybody likes him,he is every girls crush…I don’t see the statement as anything.
“ummm did you find his bracelet,it wasn’t with him when he was brought in,am guess you found it since you said you saw him first” I said, she dialated her eyes.
“I didn’t see anything with him,just a red lauded phone” she said.
“or did someone else found him first,I thought you helped him gain consciousness….isn’t tat your five fingers on the white top he wore yesterday” I asked, sounding worrisome….even if a person find it,the person might not want to return it…it cost so much fortunes.
At times,I wonder why Lotanna is always careless with expensive things..
“am the one” akuna said.
but—
“I will just call the maids to bring hot water” she changed topic and went out…
hot water!???
there’s hot water tap running in his washroom.
o sighed and hastily placed his head gently on a soft pillow.I entered the washroom to mix his bath.
I heard sounds of the door opening, guess the maids.
“drop them on the slivery stand carefully,I will help him with it” I said.
I peeped,there were six.
I couldn’t see their faces,the hole was tiny,I faced what I was doing back.
I heard the sound of the door again, I checked, it was a maid, just one last maid leaving…I didn’t bother checking their faces, they can’t try poisoning my brother right-
I came out of the washroom fully and
checked what the brought in,and turned to look at Lotanna, his diamond bracelet blinded my sight…
hmmmmm….
how come??? the maids??
one of the maids-
