Thea waited patiently for him to say what he wanted to say, but her phone rang again preventing him from talking.

“I think you should pick up,” he said pointing at the phone. “It’s not important, you should go ahead,” she urged him to go on.

“I don’t think the person will stop unless you pick up,” he said. The phone rang again and Thea had to pick it up.

“I’m busy you know,” she said to Mr Charles. “So am I, I need you in the office right now,” he ordered which made her chuckle silently.

Who does he think he is to give her an order and except her to obey, he already fired her. “You don’t expect me to come, do you?” She asked.

“I have been trying to reach you for the past five hours, I called and sent text messages and not you don’t want to come. Why on earth will you do that?” He half yell.

He wanted to scold her but Cisco was listening, he can’t lose so my money because of Thea. ‘You already told him she resigned when you fired her,’ his subconscious said.

‘I had no choice, he looked like he was going to punish me for firing her,’ he replied.

“So what? I should run down to your company?” She asked sarcastically. “You should, don’t do it for me, do it for this secret admirer of yours,” he said.

“I’ll be there in the next one hour,” she said and cut the call. “Hello…. hey…., Thea!” He yell from the other side.

“What were we saying?” She asked with a smile as she dropped her phone. “Noghing, we should eat and attend to your emergency,” he said.

“We don’t have to rush our dinner because of that, it can wait,” she said. “You should go,” he insisted.

“But you wanted to say something,” she reminded. “It can wait,” he said and she nodded not feeling comfortable.

The dinner was silent afterwards, Thea had to lie she was done and he offered to take her home but she refused. She took a cab to the radio station leaving him in the restaurant.

She was mad at Mr Charles for ruining her dinner date, it was her first time for petes sake and he had to send for her. She met few staffs in the company, those she assumed to still have some show.

“Girl!” The co-worker called her and she rushed to her. “What took you so mong? Mr Charles is more then angry,” she informed.

“I am not his staff, he should control tou guys not me,” she said and walked away to his office.

“Good evening Mr Charles,” she greeted knocking on the door, but three seconds without a response and she walked in.

“Thea! You are finally here!” He said excited as he pulled her to a hug. “What took you so long?” He asked.

“What is it you want?” She asked obviously angry. She blames him for ruining her dinner, things could have been great if he has not call.

“There is someone here to see you,” he said and gestured at Cisco, she turned and her eyes came into contact with him.

“Good evening,” he greeted but she ignored him. “Sorry for the disturbance, I just had to see you,” he explained.

“I am busy too. Just because I once work here doesn’t mean my life revolves around this company,” she retorted.

Her voice is much more beautiful in person, she looks beautiful too. The way her lips move got him feeling something he has not felt in years.

“Are you listening to me?” She asked snapping her finger to get him out of the dream land. “Yes,” he answered

“Who are you and why have you been looking for me?” She asked. “I am a huge fan of your programs, though I just discovered It. I couldn’t hear your voice for the past two days so I decided to check up on you,” he said.

“I had to leave,” she said glaring at Mr Charles. “I was sad when I heard you resigned,” he blunted and her eyes widened.

“I what? I resigned?” She ask. “Yes, that is what I was told,” he replied.

“I didn’t resign, he fired me,” she blunted and Mr. Charles wished the ground will open and swallow her whole.

“You fired her?” He asked.”No I didn’t, I mean yes…. but I had reasdefend

defended.

“You lied to me? Why did you do that?” He growled. “I didn’t mean to, she wanted to quit too,” he said.

“Huh? How dare you lie to my face?! I never wanted to quit, you fired me!” She snap at him.

He gave her the look, ‘why are you punishing me?’. She folded her arms below her breast as everything was getting interesting to her.

She has always wanted to pay Mr Charles back in his own coun for treating her like a push over, he was nice she won’t deny that, but he was the opposite whenever he gets the chance to be.

“I am going to sue you and your company,” Cisco threatened. “I am also going to make you pay two million dollars for emotional damage,” he added.

What is he talking about? She thought they were just joking but from his expression he is taking things serious.

If Mr Charles is asked to pay two million then he will have to sell his company to do that.

‘Who is this guy? Why is he defending me? Is this his secret admirers behave, it’s so cool to have one’ she thought with a blush.

“Thea do something! I can’t pay that money, I was nice to you wasn’t I? Please talk to him,” Mr Charles pleaded.

“Huhuh,” Thea cleared her throat. “Mister, you should calm down, billions of people lose their jobs each day, I am not different. You don’t have to make him pay that much,” she said.

“You are different, you not hosting your program is affecting lots of people, in ways you can’t imagine,” he said with an unreadable expression.

Thea thought he lost his mind for a moment, and was almost tempted to ask if he escape from a psychiatric ward.

“Why are you so serious? My show is just for fun,” she said with an awkward smile. “It isn’t, your show is so important,” he corrected.

‘He is taking things too personal, should I just ask him why he is taking my side? No, that will ruin the fun. This is the first time a totally stranger is taking my side,’ she thought.

“You should give her back her job this instant,” he ordered. “Her job?” Mr Charles repeated.

“Yes,” he answered. Thea study Mr Charles expression and knew he doesn’t deserve that, he wanted to help her but he just doesn’t have the resources to.

“It’s fine, I don’t want the job,” Thea blurted. “Yeah, she wants her job back and you have to give….,” he blink his eyes repeatedly and turned to face her. “You what? You don’t want your job?” He asked.

“Yeah, I don’t want to work here anymore,” she said. “You just said billions of people lose their job, and I’m sure those billions want their jobs back,” he said.

“You just said I’m different too, I am not like those billions,” she said.

‘Is she using my words against me? I need her to work here. I need to sleep like normal people,’ he thought.

“You just can’t decide to throw your job away,” he said. “I can, humans have the free will to do what they want, you know?” She asked.

If he didn’t need her help he would have loved her courage but right now it’s just stupid to him.

“Thanks for fighting for me,” she appreciated with a smile he wish to see all the time. What’s wrong with him? Since when does he like random people smile.

‘She is your cure not just any random person,’ his subconscious said.

“Sorry for the trouble Mr Charles,” she apologized before leaving

“She does not want her job,” Mr Charles said. “I heard her, I’ll come back for you,” he said with a deadly glare before leaving his office.

Thea was waiting in front of the elevator when he got to her, she kept stomping her feet on the ground. The heel was getting uncomfortable, that was the first time she is wearing one for that long.

Cisco noticed her but decided to ignore it, that was the first time someone will humiliate him.

He was not that hurt when Allison turned him down, maybe he is hurting because she is his cure.

The elevator door opened and they went in, the door closed and there was silence between them.

“Are you Francisco kings? The turned down guy?” She asked and he nodded. “Do you want me to work here again because of your relationship?” She asked

“If that is the case will you say yes?” He inquiried.
