“That came out wrong. I’m sorry. What I meant to say was, neither my shoe nor my show is the reason for your company’s bankruptcy? My show is helping your company not bringing it down,” she explained with a nervous smile.

” Really?,” He asked and she nodded. “I doubt that,” he concluded.

“What more do you want?!” She groaned.

” Leave my office before I have a second thought about keeping you in this company,” he said and she rushed out immediately.

She grunt as she walked back to her cabin. Her life is the definition of worse. Her dad got into an accident when she was just sixteen.

He is presently in a coma and her mom lost her mind after learning about the possibility that her husband might not wake up.

She has been the breadwinner of the family. She has to work to pay both bills. It was a miracle she finished high school and got into college.

She dropped out when she could not pay the tuition fees. She got a job into the broadcasting company when she was just twenty. It’s been two years now.

She knows she can lose her job at anytime because of her lack of appropriate certificate. Why can’t life be nice towards her just a little?

She almost committed sucide once but a mysterious guy saved her. She doesn’t remember him. You can actually remember someone you know.

She didn’t get his name or face. Everything actually happened so fast. She was returning from the hospital that evening.

Her father had an attack that night and he almost died. She was so scared that she will lose him. She was there when everything happened so it worsened everything.

She was still trying to comprehend everything the doctor told her about her father’s health when she received a call from the mental asylum that her mother is missing.

She rushed there and after searching for hours, she was found. The doctor gave her the bills and threatened not to take care of her mother if she doesn’t pay.

That evening, she walked out of the asylum with a heavy heart and with one thought, it should all end with death.

But she was given a new reason to live by the unknown guy. She only remembers one thing about him and that is his cologne.

Her life since then is not what anyone will wish for. She can’t have dreams or goals. She had one which was to finish college, get a better job, live with her family and one day get married.

That’s all in the past and the only dream she has right now is to earn a lot whole lot of money, pay her parents medical bills and pray for them both to get better.

“Arghh!” She groaned as she hit the keyboard in front of her. Her phone made a notification sound and she checked it out.

The couples she asked for their story finally wants to meet her, ‘If my story is bad and others are great. I should listen to theirs’ she thought with a smile before grabbing her small bag and rushing out of the office.

“How was the meeting sir?,” April asked as she walked beside Cisco. As usual, he just closed another deal.

“Great,” he replied as he opened the transparent door to his office.

“Sir lunch,” April pointed at the food on the table. “Thanks,” he mumbled and sat on his chair.

He pulled his laptop closer and typed something on it. April was still standing which indicates she needs something.

“If you stand there without saying a word, someone might think I am punishing you,” he said still typing on his laptop.

” Sir, I ….the problem is…. I have a date,” she blunted playing with her fingers. “Need me to come with you?,” He asked.

” No, of course not,” she chuckled. “I just have to go now. You don’t have any meeting for the whole day and I thought I should leave since my work is done,” she said.

” Go” he said, simply. He’s simple in some aspects and hard in some. “Thanks” she appreciated and rush out of his office.

” Love, date” he mumbled sadly. Then he remembered his father’s words. Should he really propose to Allison? Will she accept him?

They don’t really have time to get to know each other so he’s not sure if she loves him but as for him, romantic love is the last thing he feels for her.

They have went on few dates to get to know each other but it always gets ruined one way or another.

If Allison fans don’t show up, he has an important meeting to attend to. Well, he thinks one could have actually worked out but they got bored that day and went home fifteen minutes after the date began.

So in short, the only thing they know about each other is what the press writes and that is if they have time to read it.

He likes her but his heart just doesn’t beat for her. He wish his father would understand this.

“She’s here,” a girl from the crowd yell as a lady stepped out of a black van, looking all gorgeous. She looked like an angel and her name is none other than Allison.

She looks perfect, those curves, that perfect flawless skin, her beautiful face and to top it all, she is wearing the latest designers.

She didn’t wave or smile at her fans she just kept a straight face until she entered the agency.

“Johnny” she called and her manager walked closer to her. “I have to go to the bathroom” she said and he nodded while she walked away.

” Why is the office so tense?” A lady asked as she washed her hand. “Ally is having a shoot today and releasing her latest dance video” a co worker replied.

” Ahhh” she mumble as she shook her head along. “I doubt the video is going to be a hit” another lady said walking out of the restroom.

” Why do you say that?” The first lady asked, “She’s born with bad luck” the third lady replied and the other ladies gasped.

“She’s just lucky that the people are dumb and don’t notice her cursed luck” she scoff.

” I’m not sure about her luck but if her character could be half as good as her dance, then I would try to like her,” the second lady stated and the door opened yo reveal Allison with a smirk.

“I thought people would have outgrown gossiping in the bathroom,” she said walking closer.

The ladies were shivering in fear, knowing Allison, they could lose their job. She once convinced the director to fire a girl that refused to clean her shoe.

She had so much power in the agency and those that aren’t on her good side are at the edge of mountains. They can fall and die at anytime.

One of her backup dancers committed sucide after Allison told her she will never be half as successful as she is.

She made a mistake of stepping on her toe during practice. Allison slapped her and said a lot of hurtful words to her.

“I thought you loved your jobs, but you don’t,” she said and walked towards them.

” You all belong in the grave at least be useful to the termite. You know why? it’s because of you, our beloved planet Earth is in danger. The hurtful things you said makes Earth angry,” she said and shook her head in pity.

” I need to speak to the director,” she concluded and walked away. It was useless begging her so the best thing to do is to simply get their things and leave the company, quietly.

Thea smiled as she walked out of the restaurant. She just had a successful meeting with the couple that has been happily married for twenty years.

It made her wondered if love is even meant for her too, will she ever fall in love? Will her life ever be perfect and less problematic?

Her phone rang jolting her out of her thought, “Hey Mavis,” she said excited.

That is her best friend, the only person who puts a smile on her face. The have been friends since middle school.

“I missed your call,” Mavis said as she walked around her office with a file in her hand and her ear holding the phone which was between her shoulder and ear.

“Yeah, it’s my lunch break. I was wondering if we could have lunch together,” she said. “Sure,” Mavis replied. ” Okay our favorite restaurant,” she replied and Mavis mumble okay before ending the call.

Thea was unaware of the car in her direction as she literally walked on the road.

“Miss!”

“Ma’am”

“Out of the road!”

The people yelled but she had no idea they were talking to her. She kept walking as the car kept coming closer at a high speed.
