“Miss!,” A guy screamed as he pulled her out of the way.

“Thank God!”

“That guy is God’s sent,”

” Is she trying to commit sucide?”

“What was she thinking?”

People murmured but Thea didn’t care about their mummuring. She raised her head to see the guy that saved her from death.

She didn’t see the first person that saved her from committing sucide years ago, she can’t repeat the same mistake now.

“Are you alright?,” Vin asked and she smiled. “I asked if you are alright?” He repeated but she was still smiling.

” I guess you are” he concluded as he helped her stand straight but she was still holding on to his top.

“Umm… I think you should let go of me” he said with his gaze on her hand.

” My legs are shaking” she whispered and he held her shoulder. “You should sit” he said helping her to a bench.

Her legs were not actually shaking, she just couldn’t get enough of his handsome face. He was way too handsome that you would not believe he isn’t an alien.

“Do you need to go to the hospital?,” He asked and her eyes widened at the word ‘hospital’. What for? She was almost hit but wasn’t hit.

“No, thank you” she said and it was now his turn to appreciate her beauty. Her voice sounded so angelic that he didn’t believe she’s human.

“You should be careful. Crazy drivers are everywhere these days” he said. “I will remember that” she said and they stared at each other with a smile for few moments.

“Are you sure you don’t need to visit the hospital?” He asked breaking the short silence and she nodded.

“You should leave now” she said, “Are you chasing me away?” He queried.

“No, of course not. I believe you were heading somewhere before you saved me. So I don’t want you to be late or anything,” she explained with an awkward smile.

” It’s fine. I have to make sure you are really okay and not hiding the pain” he smiled

She smiled back before staring away. Her phone rang and it was Mavis. He must have gotten to the restaurant.

“Hey” she said, “Where in hell are you?” Mavis asked.

“I’m not in hell dummy. I’m on Earth” she replied and Vin stared at her because what she said sounded strange to his hearing.

“Whatever… Get your ass here or you won’t see me for a month” she said.

” Are you going to die? I know you can’t survive without me,” Thea teased, “I’m waiting” Mavis said calmly and Thea chuckled before cutting the call.

She turned to Vin who was staring at the ground, “Thanks again but I have to go” she said.

“Can you walk now?” He asked, obviously with concern. But why? Why is he worried about her when they just met?

“Of course I can. I feel great now” she replied, standing up to show him that she is really alright.

“I’m happy you are fine” he said and she nodded. “I’m Vin by the way” he introduced streching his hand for a shake.

“Thea” she replied shaking his hand. He didn’t let go for few seconds which seems like minutes to Thea. ‘Why is he holding on to her hand?,’ She thought.

“I have to leave now,” she said more like reminding him to let go of her. “Can I have your number?,” He asked.

She furrowed her brows confused. Why would he want to have her number? He helped her and she’s grateful. The next thing is departure. Why is he telling her his name and asking for her number? She thought finding everything confusing.

As if he could read her thoughts or perhaps he guessed with her facial expressions, he said,”I just want to call so that I can know if you are really okay or you are just pretending.” he explained

Weird, she is standing in front of him and he still need to confirm? How will he know if she’s pretending anyway? Will it show in her voice or will it displayed on his screen the moment she picks up? This guy has a weird way of asking for girls number.

She was still lost in thought when he tapped her, “The number” he reminded and she called it.

He dialed it immediately and she showed him the incoming call. He had this satisfactory smile on his face as she walked away.

“Mavis, I’m sorry that I’m late,” she apologized as she sat beside her.

“So you caught up in traffic or you had to walk here?,”She asked and anger could be felt in her voice.

” I’m broke but not that broke,” she snapped, “So what happened? “Mavis asked.

” I was almost hit by a car” she started, ” It didn’t hit you? “Mavis asked.

“You want it to?,” She asked. “I guess it didn’t,” she said as she picked the menu.

” This super handsome guy saved me and one thing led to another… ” Mavis cut in, “You guys had s*x? ”

” No, is that what you think of me? A whore? “She asked, ” Nope, I just thought he asked for it in return” she replied.

” He didn’t and we definitely didn’t have s*x. We just exchanged numbers and names” she blunted

“So, you got yourself a boyfriend? Amazing” she clapped her hands. “Did you have breakfast?” Thea asked, giving her an intent stare.

” Nope, I’m starving. What are you buying? I feel like eating everything on the menu” she blunted.

” I’m not buying anything but you are,” she replied.

“You are kidding, aren’t you?” She asked and Thea shook her head sideways to say no.

“You called me out for lunch. You should pay” she said.

“I never said I won’t. I just don’t have money yet, I will pay you once I have money. You should buy a meal for me today,” she said grabbing the menu.

” I will be a considering you as my best friend and buy something cheap,” Thea replied. “You are unbelievable,” she groaned.

They ordered something cheap and started to eat. “How’s aunt and uncle?” Mavis asked.

“I believe mom is fine. I haven’t visited her in a while. I will be visiting dad later this evening,” she replied.

“Are you avoiding her?,” Mavis asked, “No, not her. It’s those doctors” she replied.

“Don’t tell me you were diagnosed and now you are refusing treatment,” Mavis gasped. “Stop thinking the worst of me. I haven’t paid the bills. That’s why I am avoiding them” she snapped

“Everything will be fine,” Mavis assured patting her back gently, ” So you gonna borrow me some money?” She said.

“I’m quit doing that a long time ago” she said, “Okay, then pay from my transport fare” she said.

” I should start eating alone,” she said and Thea chuckle.

Cisco stood in front of a wedding ring. He planned on proposing to Allison that night in his parents house.

“Getting married?,” Someone asked, his doctor to be precise. “Yeah” he replied.

“Who’s the lucky girl?” He asked standing beside him,” My girlfriend” he replied.

“You are still dating that girl?” He freaked, “Yeah, what’s wrong with her?” Cisco asked turning to face him.

” Nothing” he shrugged, “When are you coming for your treatment?” He asked changing the topic.

If he didn’t, Cisco would throw it in his face that he is single at thirty seven. “Why should I come?” Cisco asked

“Because your health is at risk?” He guessed, “It’s not. Visiting you didn’t make me feel better and not doing it didn’t change a thing so I am not coming” he snapped.

” You need to be treated boy” he said.

” Yes but you won’t treat me, I am going to change my doctor. I don’t need a doctor who can’t help” he spat.

” And I don’t need a patient whose body system is rejecting treatment,” he snapped.

” Get me that diamond ring” Cisco said to the girl beside him, “You just don’t know your job. If you knew it, I would be better by now” he said

” I’m not the problem, you are,” the doctor retorted.

“Here sir,” the girl said giving him the small bag.

“Thanks, give this man the change. He only talks to me when he lacks patient and in need of money,” he said and glared at the doctor before walking away.

“Rude brat,” the doctor mumbled before walking away too in a different direction.

Cisco called Allison as soon as he was out of the mall, “Allison,” Cisco called as she picked up.

“Hey” she replied. “You free tonight?” He asked.

“Not sure, I will check my schedule and let you know” she replied.

” Okay, I will text you the address” he said and she cut the call.

Late at night, everyone was waiting in Cisco’s parents house for Allison. It has been an hour but she’s still no where to be found.

“You two really suit each other. You make others wait for you,” Greg whispered into his ear.
