Francisco stared at Thea as tears continue to rush out of her eyes, Fiona was confused too she was okay about a minute ago and now she is suddenly crying.

“Thea,” Cisco called softly and she turned to face him. “Why are you crying? Are you in pain?” He asked as his hand moved slowly towards her wet face.

“My dad,” she managed to say, Cisco glanced at Fiona then at Thea who was still crying.

“He left me, how could he do that? Why did he do that?” She cried and Cisco hugged her to himself.

He understood her pains and fears, he pats her back gently as she cried. “How could have done that?” She asked no one as tears fell helplessly from her eyes.

Cisco felt great pain in his heart as her cries pierced his ear, he understood her pains perfectly.

He once lost a loved one too so he understood perfectly what she is going through, he pats her back softly while she cried.

Minutes later Adrian was sited beside Thea on the bed, he stroked her hair while she slept soundly

It took him lots of effort to put her to sleep, Fiona packed the used plates and walked towards the bed.

“I am leaving, sir,” Fiona informed him and he smiled at her.

“Thanks,” he appreciated and she glanced at Thea before leaving.

Thea’s phone rang on the bed, it was beside her all along.

Cisco picked it up and place it on his ear. “You are so dead! How dare you ignore my calls?!” Mavis screamed and Cisco had to take the phone away from his ear.

“Mavis,” Cisco called and she stopped talking for a moment. “Mavis, this is Cisco,” he said and she gasped at the other end.

“My apologies, I… It’s been a while,” she stuttered shortly.

“Yeah,” he replied and he heard her chuckle nervously at the other end. “Is Thea there?” She eventually asked.

“Yes, she’s asleep,” he responded. “Asleep?” She muttered as a question.

He understood her confusion so he replied. “She is in the hospital.”

“Hospital? Why is she in a hospital?” Mavis rushed her question.

“I think you should come over,” he suggested with his gaze on Thea.

“Which hospital are you in?” Mavis inquired. “St Louis hospital,” he replied and she nodded nervously.

He hung up and kept the phone in his pocket, he pats her hair and peck her cheeks.

About thirty minutes later Mavis rushed into the room, Cisco stood up from the couch while Mavis ran towards the bed.

“Thea,” she called and Thea opened her eyes slowly. “Mavis,” she called and Mavis smiled.

“How do you feel?” Mavis asked. “I lost my dad, Mavis,” Thea replied instead in a bittered voice.

“Uncle?” Mavis asked and Thea nodded, Mavis glanced at Cisco who looked confused.

He must have no idea of how to calm her down, Thea hardly let anyone into her world.

“I’m sorry bestie,” Mavis said and pulled her into a hug. “My dad,” she cried more as Mavis hugged her tightly.

“Hey, it’s gonna be fine. I’m here, you have me,” Mavis consoled, Thea disengaged from the hug and sit up.

“Do you feel better?” Cisco asked and she sniffed back her tears. “I knew it was going to happen yet it hurts,” she said and Mavis sat on the space beside her.

“I am worthless, aren’t I?” She asked with a sad smile. “Don’t say that,” Mavis cautioned.

“I couldn’t save him, he must hate me for that…, I was unable to save him,” she said and Mavis hugged her.

Thea stopped crying but she didn’t say a word to anyone, Vin Dropped by and Cisco explained things to him.

He tried to cheer her up but nothing worked, she kept a straight and cold face.

“Bestie, I…” Mavis trailed off and Thea smiled at her. “It’s fine, you should leave,” she said.

“I’m sorry,” Mavis apologized. “You have nothing to be sorry for, you should go home and rest,” Thea replied and Mavis hugged her.

“I will drop you off,” Vin said and left with Mavis.

“You should eat something,” Cisco suggested. “I’m not hungry,” she replied.

“Hey,” he said and raised her chin, he stared into her eyes and he could see pain.

“You don’t have to go through it alone,” he said and she forced a smile.

“Can I see him?” She asked and he nodded. “Are you sure?” He asked and she nodded.

“I’ll talk to the doctor,” he said and left the room.

Minutes later Cisco came back with the doctor and he examined her, and she was discharged.

The ride to the hospital was silent, Thea stared at the tall buildings with beautiful lights.

She wined down the glass and closed her eyes as the cold breeze met her face, tears fell out of her eyes as the memories of her dad flooded her brain.

“We are here,” Cisco informed her and she opened her eyes, she stepped out of the car, and Cisco walked around the car to her side.

They met doctor Debbie giving instructions to a nurse and she walked straight toward her.

“Doctor Debbie,” Thea called and she turned to face her. “Evening,” Cisco greeted.

“Where is my dad?” She asked in a broken, voice. “Come with me,” Dr. Debbie said and led the way, they walked straight to the mortuary where his body was laid.

Thea walked towards the body covered with white clothe, she uncovered his face and his pale lifeless face came into view.

“I bet it doesn’t hurt anymore,” she said as she trailed her finger on his face. “It’s more peaceful isn’t it?” She asked, as her heart shattered into pieces.

“Please forgive me,” she pleaded as her knee felt weak and she fell on the cold floor. “I am sorry,” she cried as her heart ached more.

Cisco helped her up and walked her out of the mortuary, he took her to the car and went back to the doctor.

Arrangements were made and her dad was buried about a week later, Thea tried her best to be strong and everyone around her was helping too.

She spends most of her time indoors and only comes out when she is hungry.

She is presently sited on a chair by the pool, she was staring at bluish water with an expressionless face.

“Thea,” Cisco called and she turned around to face him, he flashed her a smile but she only stared at him.

“How was your day?” He asked and peck her hair. “The same,” she replied and he understood what she meant.

“Wanna go out?” He asked and she shook her head sideways.

“Umm, have you had dinner?” He asked. “Yeah,” she replied.

“Babe,” he called and she hummed. “Your mom,” he said and she gave him her full attention.

“What about her?” She asked, panicked. “The doctor called this morning while you were still asleep, she said there is an improvement. I was just wondering if you will like to see her,” he said.

“I want to,” she replied excitedly. “Can we go tonight?” She asked.

“Sure,” he replied and she stood up.

Thea looked nervous throughout the ride but Cisco assured her that it was going to be fine, they are presently sitting in the doctor’s office.

They went to get her mother, Thea rubbed her palm against each other. Cisco noticed her uneasiness and held her hand, he gave her an assuring smile.

“It is going to be fine,” he assured. “What if she asks of dad?” She inquired nervously.

“We will find a way to tell her,” he replied. “I don’t want to lose her again, she is all I have,” she said.

“No, you have me too,” he reminded and the door opened, two nurses accompanied her mother.

“Thea?” Her mom called more like a question and she rushed to hug her. “My baby girl,” she cried and sniffed her scent.

“Mom,” Thea cried, Cisco watched as mother and daughter hugged each other tightly.

“How have you been?” Her mom asked as they disengaged from the hug.

“Good mom,” she replied. “What happened?” Her mom asked.

“A lot happened mon but I’m glad you are fine,” she replied.

“She needs lots of rest,” the doctor said and Thea nodded, her mom was taken back to the ward while she and Cisco left.

“I never knew the night was this beautiful,” she said, happily. Cisco glanced at her then back at the road, nervously he asked. “Are you sure you are okay?”

“Yes,” she replied and turned to face him. “Thanks for everything,” she appreciated.

“I love you,” he confessed.

★ A month later ★

Cisco smiled as he stared at the flower in his hand, he planned on asking Thea out properly night.

He hummed a song as he dropped it into his car, he was about to get into the car when he received a notification on his phone.

He brought it out of his pocket to check the message, his eyes widened in horror as he read the content.
