JERICHO’S WEAKNESS Episode 35

Valerie was standing in front of the mirror, trying to park her hair when a knock came on her door.

“Who’s it?” She asked and a maid walked in.

“Sorry to interrupt, Ma’am. But there’s a guard outside the door, requesting to see you” the young lady said and Valerie knew instantly that it was Jericho.

“Um… Tell him I’ll be there shortly” she replied and the maid nodded and left.

Then, she turned back to the mirror and found herself smiling.

Oh! Stop it, Valerie! Sincerely, she couldn’t wait to get free from these guys.

She was about leaving the room when she spotted her hair scalf again. Nah! No way she’s going back to that. She shook her head and left the room.

Walking down the stairs to the sitting room, she met her mum standing with her hands at akimbo.

“Valerie” she called as soon as Valerie got close.
“What’s going on? Who’s that guy out there?’

“He’s no one, mum”Valerie rolled her eyes with a smile

“Really? But he looks so hot. Wouldn’t be so bad if he was your friend, you know?” Mrs Houston said sarcastically and Valerie just smiled.

“I need to go mum. See you later” she gave her a peck and left before she’d ask any more questions.

She walked out to the gate and found him sitting in the car. But he didn’t look like he was patient.
The front door wws already opened for her and she just walked in.

“You kept me waiting, Val” Jericho huffed as soon as she got in.

“Yeah. Rule no 1, it is mandatory for a guy to do the waiting” she answered bluntly and he scoffed.

“Hold on; so, the lady has to arrive late on purpose just so the guy can wait?” He asked.

“Well, yeah. Something like that”.

That’s crazy” he chuckled and started the car and in a split second, they hit the road.
He turned on the music and the car became too noisy for Valerie.

“So, where do we go first?” Jericho asked, having to yell due to the noise in the car.

“I don’t know. Your choice!” Valerie yelled back.

“Seriously, Valerie? Are you forgetting this is an agreement?”

“Fine! Take the next turn” she rolled her eyes.

They arrived at a mall and Valerie looked at him, surprised.

“I need to get something before we proceed” Jericho answered the question in her eyes as he opened the door and stepped out, while she followed.

“And what could it possibly be, huh?” She scoffed, but of course z Jericho didn’t reply as he just walked into the mall.

They got in and to Valerie’s surprise, he was actually getting some cigarettes.

Gosh! Jericho, seriously??” She scoffed. “You brought me here for some cigarettes?? Are you for real?”

“Shut up, Valerie” he snorted as he searched for his favorite brand.

“You know”, he continued after some seconds. “Earth is actually the first place I’d gotten to know cigarettes. And trust me, it’s super cool”.

Valerie huffed and decided to get something she’d eat as well which was some chocolates.
It was right behind the cigarette counter. So, she had to go round and search for her favorite – milky diary.

She found it and was about taking it out when a familiar voice suddenly called her name.

“Valerie?” She turned quickly to have a look and to her amusement, it was Ivy and her friends.

Oh, crap! Why now??

Her jaws dropped as she looked at them and they were also throwing surprised stares at her.

“Oh my God!” Ivy exclaimed, her hand almost covering her lips.
“So, it’s actually true? Lincoln was right when he told me you were looking like an ugly peacock? My God, Valerie! You’re unbelievable!”

The two ladies beside her sniggered.

Valerie was silent and just stared sideways.

“But, on a serious note, Valerie, what happened to you?” Chloe asked.
“We heard you actually slept and woke up looking this way. Did you had a fight with a fairytale in your dream?”

Valerie was more concerned on how they’d gotten to know so much. Lincoln had told Ivy, but how did he know about it in the first place?

“I thought you were the classy princess and money was never a problem?” Ivy continued. “So, how come you’ve been unable to get these off your face? Goodness! And to think your birthday’s in 3 days time? This isn’t an insult, Valerie, but I think you’re doomed”.

“Aish! Don’t you ever get tired?” Valerie mumbled, touching her forehead.
“No wonder your lips looks so big”.

“I’m sorry Valerie, but I really can’t get tired – not in a situation like this” she scoffed.
“You look so terrible and disgusting with this. No wonder Lincoln left you”.

Valerie’s eyes glinted immediately as she glared hard at her.

Her cheeks became heated up and Ivy smiled, knowing she had finally succeeded in getting her upset.

“Come on, girls. Let’s get out of here before we contact some black spots” She added sarcastically and started walking away with her crew, while Valerie just watched in anger and frustration. Few of the people in the mall were noticing the little drama and had been staring at them the whole time.

Suddenly, something strange happened. Just at the exit, Ivy stopped walking when she felt her hair pulling off.
Huh?

“Ivy! Your hair!” One of her friends exclaimed and all eyes in the mall diverted to them.

“What’s happening to her?” Some people mumbled.

Her hair was just falling off her scalp like she was cutting it off and in no time, she was almost looking bald-headed.

“Argh!!!!!!!!!” She let out a frightening scream as she jumped all over.

Valerie was confused and instantly, a name echoed in her head: Jericho.

She turned swiftly and found him standing behind her, smoking heartily.
