Valerie swallowed hard and forced her eyes away from him. Damn this guy!

“Of…of course, not” she replied. “Why would there be a problem?”

She heard him chuckle and next, he walked away from her.

God, Valerie! What the hell had she been doing huh??

Jericho drank more from the wine before dropping the bottle right on a table.

“Alright then. We should get going, don’t you think?” He grabbed his car keys and turned towards her.

“Okay. So, where’re we headed now?” Valerie asked.

“Our day isn’t over, you know?” Jericho said with a smirk as he walked past her to the door and Valerie, having no other option, had to follow him.

They walked out to where his car was parked and occupied the front seats.

“I asked you to join me for a movie Valerie, and you actually slept off” Jericho said casually as he started the car.

“I was tired” she rolled her eyes.

“Seriously? Tired of what? Of making a simple meal? You’re as lazy as a tortoise”.

“How do you know about a tortoise?”

“Hello? You told me about it at the zoo”.

A little snigger was heard.

And finally they hit the road.

“Why don’t you tell me a little about yourself, Valerie?” Jericho asked as he drove on a not-too-fast pace.

“Myself?” Valerie scoffed.
She’d been trying so hard to focus because…mehn… his looks were quite distracting.

“Well… There’s a lot to know about me.

“I’m Valerie Houston, young, pretty, ambitious, respectful…”

“Oh, please” Jericho cut in with a scoff.

“What? I’m telling you the truth. I only act angry when people get me in the fowl mood. Else…”

“You and I both know that’s a lie, Val’.

“Fine!” She rolled her eyes. “But you’re equally rude, you know? And I seriously don’t get why you were trying to change me”.

“Well… Sometimes, we don’t have to be exactly what we want others to be. I don’t have to be 100% good before I change someone positively”‘ Jericho replied but Valerie only answered with a scoff.
Although, it kinda made sense to her.

Suddenly, the car screeched to a halt and Valerie gasped
Whaaat???

“What the hell just happened?” She asked in bewilderment and Jericho shook his head before stepping out of the car.

“Oh! Not now” Valerie heard him mumble from outside and quickly left the car as well.

“What is …” Her words were cut off when she discovered it was a flat tyre.
“Please, tell me you have an extra tyre?”

“I wish I did” Jericho shurgged.

“What? So, what’re we gonna do? We’re like…in the middle of nowhere!”

“I didn’t ask the tyre to go flat, Valerie. Will you stop yelling?”

“Seriously? I should be at home you know? Getting ready for my fabulous party. But here I am, standing right in the middle of nowhere with a flat tyre and you expect me to keep calm?”

“Exactly. I expect you to keep calm” Jericho replied and started walking away.

“Hold on, where are you going?” Valerie ran after him.

“I’ll call Klaus to come check up on the car. For now, we need to proceed”. Jericho replied.

“Hold on; so we’re gonna walk on foot?”

“You could walk on your head if you want, Valerie. It’s all up to you”.

“Goodness! I still don’t understand why I’m stuck with you….”

The two figures walked into the bar with Valerie trying adjust to the noisiness.

“Seriously Jericho, can we just leave this place? I don’t like it one bit”. Valerie grouse.

“Oh! Dear Val, you need to live up a little. Don’t worry, you’ll be safe with me”. He answered with an uncharacteristically arch but it didn’t calm Valerie one bit.

A lady was singing on stage and to Valerie, she was the worst singer.
“That lady must be from your planet” she said teasingly to Jericho who only smiled.

They got to the counter and ordered for two glass of drinks.

“I want some ice in it” Valerie said to the bar man who nodded as he got the drinks ready.

Rhe rest of the people in the hall seemed to be having a lot of fun as they drank and danced noisily.

“As soon as we done with this, we leaving okay?” She said to Jericho like it was an order or something.

“Okay ma’am” he sniggered.

The evening went so well for Valerie and Jericho as they both had so much fun. Although, Jericho wouldn’t stop being so grumpy towards Valerie – grumpy in an amusing way, tho.

When they finished from the bar, they’d gone to the amusement park afterwards and played some games. Since Jericho was completely new to the whole thing, Valerie had to teach him like he was a toddler.

She taught him how to handle the video games. They also tried out some sweets, challenges and….

“Damn! I never knew earth could be so much fun”
Those were Jericho’s words.

Valerie was equally enjoying the evening as well and didn’t want him to to end, but well, it had to.

“How do we get home, Jericho?” She asked as they walked together to the roadside
She held a plastic cup of wine with her and took sips at regular interval.

“Well, I guess we’ll be making use of a cab, Val” Jericho replied and watched her sip through the straw.

“Thank you” he muttered.

“For what?” She looked at him.

“For agreeing to go on this date with me. Earth is really a nice place to be honest. But home is more important”.

Valerie’s fingers shook a little. Oh…he was really gonna be leaving the next day huh?

“Well… I’m glad I was able to make your little time worth the while. Right? I fulfilled it?” She asked and Jericho stopped walking.
She did too.

“About that…” His words were coming out in what seemed like a whisper. “Let’s say you did a pretty nice job. But there’s just one thing remaining, Val”.

Valerie’s brows creased in wonder. Just one thing remaining? What could it be?

Jericho moved so close to her and stared down at her neck, making her cringe.

“I want, you Valerie” he whispered, his breath touching her neck.
“I want to be so deep inside of you, and make you feel things your boyfriend never made you feel”.

Heavy shivers ran down her spine as the cup she held fell freely from her hand immediately.
