JERICHO’S WEAKNESS Episode 48

Heavy shivers ran down Valerie’s spine as the cup she held fell freely from her hand to the floor.
Whaaat???

She looked at Jericho, astounished that he’d said such words to her. He…. he really had thoughts like that inside of him?

Her breath wavered as she stared at him.

“What do you think, Valerie?” He asked calmly, his words almost in whispers but loud enough for Valerie to hear.

Her lips moved, but couldn’t produce a word and that was when it dawned on her he’d rendered her completely speechless.

She blinked hard and lowered her gaze to the floor .

“I…I need to go” she muttered and tried walking away, but Jericho’s presence in front of her wouldn’t let her proceed.

“Come on, Valerie” he cooed. “I need an answer”
He paused and touched the side of her cheek.

“Don’t deny it, Val. I know you want it too. From the first day you set your eyes on me, you’ve wanted it”.

Valerie gulped hard, her mind playing games at her.

“I… I don’t even know you”. She stuttered.

“Yet, you’re out here with me… alone”‘ he smirked and rested his hand on her shoulder.

“I’m not forcing you, Val” he continued. “But I figure it’s something we both want and I’d be really glad if you could give me your consent. Just one time, and we go our separate ways…”.

Valerie’s heart leapt again.

She swallowed hard and tried walking away again, but he stopped her.

“Please… I really need to go now”. She said.

“What about our discussion…?”

“I’ll… I’ll think about it”.

“Tomorrow’s your birthday, Valerie…”

“I know. I’ll think about it”.

Jericho smiled and leaned closer to her ears.

“I’ll be waiting, hot legs” he whispered and finally moved away from her and without hesitation, Valerie turned and ran away.

Valerie could hardly sleep at home as Jericho’s words kept replaying in her head.
“I want to be so deep inside of you”.

“And make you feel things your boyfriend never made you feel”.

Goodness! What is she even thinking?

She’d paced round the room, tho and fro, thinking tirelessly about it. But she hardly knows this guy. Was it right to just hand her body to to him?

But… she wouldn’t deny the fact that she admirer him and has always had her eyes on him. Like…he was damn hot and handsome and any other lady in her shoes would want the same thing with him. But…was it right? Should she get intimate with him?

“Just one time and we go our separate ways…”

Those lines….

God! She felt anxious. Would she be doing the right thing?

“Baby, honey, baby…”

Valerie heard a soft voice calling from her sleep, together with a soft tap on her hand.

Her brows knitted in a frown as she forced her eyes open and it was her mother, sitting and smiling at her.

“Mum….” She called drowsily, but all the dizziness washed from her eyes when she heard her say:
“Happy birthday”.

Hah!! It was her birthday!!

Valerie gasped and sat up immediately.

“My birthday…” She muttered. “Mum, it’s my birthday!!”

“Yes, honey” Mrs Houston chuckled and pulled her into a tight hug.

Oh! At last!

“Happy birthday honey. Your phone’s been beeping the whole time. Hold on, I’ve got something for you already”
She brought out a small gift box.

“This is my first gift to you” Mrs Houston said as she handed the box to Valerie who collected it t with so much ecstasy.

“Oh, mum!! You know I love gifts a lot!!” Valerie cooed. “Thank you so much! Thank you so much!”

“You’re welcome,my baby”

She opened the box and in it were glittering set of ear rings.

“Diamonds!” She gasped. “Awwn! Aren’t you the best already? Thank you so much mum! I love you!” She hugged her again.

She checked her phone and uncountable calls and messages were awaiting her.
“How do I reply to all these?” She wondered.

Valerie was over – joyous as her day had started off well. Although, the party wasn’t until evening, but she already felt like she was at it already.

So many calls, so many text messages, gift cards, Jewelries… name them! she had even gotten a car from one of her branded companies.

“Isn’t this the best day of my life?” She asked with her hands wide apart and laughed.

Sally was yet to arrive because she said she had somethings to handle.

At a point, Valerie suddenly thought of Jericho. What if he’s left already???

She reached for her phone and thought of calling him, but remembered she couldn’t reach him anymore. Damn it! How does she know if he’s left already?

She quickly freshened up, found something nice and simple to wear and got ready to leave the house.

“Honey, are you going out?” Mrs Houston asked as she climbed down the stairs.

“Yes, mum. But I’ll be back in no time”: Valerie replied in a brisk and walked out the door.
And making use of her red car, she drove out of the house.

Her mind kept replaying so many words in her head as she drove towards the house. Was she doing the right thing? What if it turns out to be a mistake?

She should be at home, getting ready for her party. But here she was, checking up on some alien. Like… what is wrong with her?.
She couldn’t explain it.

After a long ride, she finally got to her destination and took in a deep breath as she parked in front of the snug house. Could Jericho be in? But they wouldn’t leave so early right?

She took her bag and left the car, walking towards the house afterwards and as she did, she couldn’t help but feel nervous. So nervous.

She got to the door and knocked on it, but there was no response. Then, she pushed it and thankfully, it was open. But ..if it was open, does that mean…

She walked in slowly and felt her heart stop beating when she found Jericho standing right there in the room, smiling at her with a glass of wine in his hand.

“You came” was the first thing he said.
