JERICHO’S WEAKNESS Episode 67

Her heart skipped repeatedly at the sight. It was her Jericho! Walking down there at the first floor. But… he wasn’t alone. He was with… someone else – a lady.

Valerie’s brows arched as she stopped to have a proper look at the view. Could she be his sister? Or a friend?

Indeed, he looked different – dressed in an all black attire from head to toe. His eyes looked darker, and he had some armed boys behind him – probably his guards?

“Valerie!” Monhana called as she ran out of the room.
She was beginning to get worried since she didn’t hear a word from Valerie.

She ran out to the balcony and found her staring downwards.

“Hey; what’re you looking at? Is there a problem?” She asked as she drew closer and found Jericho and Sylvia, walking side by side.

“The prince!” She gasped.

Valerie was still staring at them, looking confused.

“Who is….Who is she?” She stuttered. “Is she his sister? Do you think I can go to him?”

“His sister?!” Monhana chuckled. “Sylvia isn’t the prince’s sister. She’s his supposed fiancee”.

Valerie could feel a heavy lump in her throat as soon as she heard that.
Hold on; whaaat???

She whirled her head around to look at Monhana, her eyes filled with so much shock.

“I don’t… I don’t understand” she shook her head.
“His fiance? How?”

Monhana heaved a huge sigh.
“You don’t know, do you?” She shook her head lightly.
“Jericho got his first child from that lady – a son. So, they’re getting married”.

Valerie felt every part of her body go numb instantly as she listened to her; her blood ran cold and her blood stopped flowing.
What is she .. What is she talking about?

She swallowed hard as she blinked rapidly.

“It….it happened recently?” She asked, her voice sounding so weak like she couldn’t pronounce a word.

“No, not recently. The boy should be headed to six years already” she answered and instantly, Valerie felt the strong urge to puke.
But it wasn’t convenient. So, she had to force it down.

She turned quickly to look at Jericho who was already getting out of sight.

Jericho had a child and a lover? Even before he came to earth? Yet he…. he used her? He had sêx with her?

God! No

Her lips shook as a tear came rolling down immediately. This should be a dream please, a terrible dream. No way it can be true.

The same guy she was pregnant for; The same guy she came all the way there to tell the goodnews, belonged to another? He already had a family in Atlancia? Oh God!

So, she was nothing but a tool he intended passing time with on earth, right? She was just some hot girl he met on earth and lured to bed. Goodness! What has she been thinking?? What did she think? She’s only been nothing but a fool

“Dear” Monhana placed her hand on her shoulder.
“Oh, dear. Why are you crying? What’s the problem?”

“It’s… it’s nothing. Please, take me out of here. Please”. She said amidst tears, whimpering and sniffling.

Monhana was perplexed. Why was she that hurt by the news? Did she really come to Atlancia with expectation or what? Was she expecting to come and meet Jericho and get him to fall in love with her or something? What’s going on?

“Please… I just want to get out of here” she whimpered again and seeing how terribly hurt she was, Monhana decided to take her away.

She carried the basket of clothes she’d already arranged and together, they left the palace.

“You can talk to me dear; what’s the matter? What past do you share with the prince?” Monhana asked as they walked down the path, outside the palace gates
But Valerie said nothing; she couldn’t say anything as all she did was weep continuously.

“I don’t understand. You had no ideas Jericho had a family here in Atlancia?” She asked, still.
“Come on, dear. You can…”

Before she could finish up her statement, Valerie’s hand went over her stomach as she ran to one side of the bush and threw up.
Monhana was surprised. Where was wrong with her?

“Dear, are you alright?” She asked, concerned and az Valerie turned to face her, she was breathing heavily

“I wanna go back home” she muttered.
“I want to… I want to leave here and return to earth”.

Silence descended for the next few seconds.

“Okay…But how do you intend to do that?” Monhana asked with a scoff and that was when it dawned on Valerie that she had no idea.
Hapitha didn’t tell her about it, and she didn’t even ask.

“How can I go back?” She asked Monhana, hoping for a positive reply, but Monhana only chuckled

“That is close to impossible, dear. You think anyone can just leave Atlancia at will? It’s impossible” she replied, making Valerie go mad

“I don’t… I don’t understand. What do you mean by it’s impossible??” She asked with a scoff, her eyes going more sore.

“What I mean is, only the staff of the royal family can be used to transport a person from Atlancia. And that staff is in a sacred place that can only be opened by the King. So, unless you’re able to get to that staff, you’re not leaving here. And staying here is also not safe for you because, if someone gets to know you’re an intruder, you’ll be killed”.
