JERICHO’S WEAKNESS Episode 68

Valerie could feel her head spinning already as soon as Monhana said those words to her.
What??? What’s she talking about?? She was stuck here?? How’s that even possible??

She turned quickly to look at her.

“I… I don’t think I understand” She stuttered. “Are you trying to say it’s .. nearly impossible for me to leave?”

“Yes dear. Unfortunately. Unless you get your hands on that royal staff, you’re not getting out of here. And the longer you stay here, the more risky it is for you. You should’ve thought about this before coming over”. Monhana explained, only adding more hurt to Valerie’s injuries.

She was stuck here? But why?? How on earth does she get the staff? She couldn’t stay here for too long already. She just badly wanted to get home already.

“Please…” Her eyes melted in front of Monhana.
“You need to help me. I… I really need to…get out of here . please”.

“There’s nothing I can do,dear. And you can’t even think of sneaking into the room to get the staff because that would be more of a death wish. The room is located in the deepest part of the palace and you should know a commoner isn’t allowed into the palace in the first place. You saw what happened today, didn’t you? It was almost difficult getting you pass the gates. I’m afraid Valerie, but this is going to be a very complex situation for you” Monhana said and Valerie’s heart melted instantly.

Oh God! She was stuck here. Her life was doomed; completely doomed.

Tears came rolling down her cheeks as she reached for the floor to sit, resting her back on the tree behind her.

She was doomed.

“Hey, come on dear, you need to leave the floor. Come on” Monhana hurried to help her.
“It’s okay. You shouldn’t cry much. It’s fine…”

“How can it be fine?” Valerie whimpered.

How can it be fine when she’s stuck in a strange unsafe place, pregnant with a child who’s father is engaged to someone else? How on earth can it ever be fine?.
Oh God!

“Come on Valerie, it isn’t right to cry out here. Someone might see you and get suspicious. Come on” Monhana said and struggled to lift her from the floor.
Then, she placed her head on her shoulders afterwards, patting her back.

“It’s fine. It’s fine, okay? Let’s just go home and we’ll talk about this. Okay?”

It had to take Monhana a lot of efforts to calm Valerie down and finally take her home. The young lady was so heartbroken, Monhana was beginning to wonder what her connection with the prince really was. Why was she so affected by the fact that Jericho already had a child and was engaged to someone else? Did she come to Monhana with expectations of being with him or something.

As soon as they got home, she handed her some water and left to get a meal ready afterwards. And as Valerie sat in the sitting room alone, she thought miserably about her life. How does she get out of this mess she’d entered? How does she return home.

Jericho.
She really couldn’t believe he lied to her. Maybe, he didn’t actually lie, but he never told her the truth either. He never told her he had a family here in Atlancia, instead, he lured her to bed and made her feel foolish

Oh God! She’d been so stupid and wished she could change the hands of time. How could Jericho do such a thing to her? What has she done to deserve such heartbreak?

She spent the last 2 months, thinking about him and wishing to be with him again. And this is what she gets?? Only to come over and discover he already owns a family?? Goodness! No pain could be bigger than this. And that why she badly needed to leave this place and return home.

She sniffed and tried taking in some more water and suddenly, she heard the sound of a door opening. She quickly lifted her eyes to have a look and to her surprise, she discovered it was that same door that had been locked the first time, the same one she’d heard a strange noise from and the one Monhana had asked her to avoid.

The door was opened with a young lady coming out of it – a lady that looked insane. Huh? Who was she?
