Episode 16
Jasmine’s POV
“What d’hell is wrong with you Jasmine? ” Jennie asked snapping her fingers continuously to my face.
We were in the library.
“I don’t know, I don’t” I told her.
“You are lacking concentration..I asked you for a pen, you gave me your shoes and right now, you are reading a book upside down.. What are you thinking of Jasmine? If anything is bothering you, you can confide in me” She said..
So I was reading a book upside-down? She should have told me earlier… People might be thinking I’m insane..
“Oh Jennie” I dropped the book and leaned on her shoulder.
“Jesus Jasmine, your temperature is quite high”
“It’s Shannon, he is playing on my feelings” I said…
Well, she already knows I’m in love with Shannon.
“Did you apologise?”
“Severally”
“Did you insult or call his sister a zombie again? ”
“I swear I didn’t”
“Well, if he still hates you, you have to leave him and if you can’t, it means you are in love with him and I won’t bother to ask you if you do since you’re always giving me a negative answer when a positive one is scribbled on your face” Jennie said showing less concern about me now.
“Fine! I do..so what should I do? ”
Jennie smiled and said “Atlas”
“Tell me”
“Jasmine you are a lady of dignity, I can see you must have done everything to make him like you but he doesn’t right? He’s playing on your feelings instead then give up on him…If he likes you too, I’m sure he won’t hide it for long… lucky you,you get over guys easily” Jennie said making reference to how I let go of Mike quickly.
“But now, I can’t. It’s impossible for me to give up on Shannon” I cried.
“So it made it easier for him to play on your feelings even more”
“What can I do Jennie, what should I do? ”
“I already told you, Give up on him.. If he likes you, he would have told you ealier” She said.

Shannon’s POV
I took Emily immediately school closed and followed Christopher home.
I told him I wanted a break from home.. but I wanted to see his mom and learn some tips in finding a criminal or she herself may help in finding out this serial killer.
We got to his house, his mom wasn’t around maybe I had to wait a little longer.
Emily who had refused initially to come with me was excited she came b’cos Chris had a dark hairy puppy and she went after it..
“Do u know Jasmine,she is in the same class with us” Chris said ” I caught her staring at you, at first I thought I was the one she was staring at but you are the one and I observed that she has been staring at you since you came to our school”
I smiled : “Really?”
“Yeah,ignore her. She is evil! but I think she likes you”
“I, I like her too” I said,but when and how did I?
Uh?
“Kuya likes Sis Jasmine? ” Even Emily heard me.
“No, I mean I..I” I searched for a lie I could tell but there was none..
Luckily for me, the puppy Cindy ran to the inner room and Emily ran after it.
“Shannon, do you really like Jasmine? ” Chris asked me.
“I think so”
“You don’t know her well yet, she’s a witch”
I laughed remembering when I and Emily do call her a witch when we first met her and when she was still rude and cruel.
“She was a witch” I corrected.
“Was? I know her more than you do”
“Little by little, you will see the new Jasmine” I said and he scoffed, I know he do not believe me.
“Do you like anyone too?” I asked Chris.
“Is there anyone without a crush? The worst side of it is,she is Jasmine’s prey”
“Who? ”
“Mara, she sits very close to the window” “Well, it’s been a while Jasmine I’ll-treated her”
*I glared at the small wall clock..it’s was late already.
“Do I have to wait too long for your mom to return? ” I asked.
“Is she the reason why you are here? ”
“Err, yeah”
“Need her to investigate my parents’ death
“My mom won’t be around anytime soon.. I’m not aware of when she’d be back” Chris said.
Oh, I wasted precious time waiting….in vain.
I’ve got to go now..

I returned home, to the Bryants residence late at night.
“Oh Shannon, Emily dear, I was worried about you two” Mrs Bryant beckoned to us, embraced Emily and pecked her cheeks.
She’s such a caring woman.
“I’m sorry ma’am, I went to friend’s place after school” I told her.
“You should have told Jasmine at least, she was so worried” Mrs Bryant said.
Behind her,was a pale looking Jasmine, her eyes were red and teary…
She cried? She must have cried alot.
“Shannon” She walked to me and hugged me…
“I was scared, I thought you left” She whispered into my ears.
I gently dis-engaged myself from her.
We already had dinner..eat before going to bed ” Mrs Bryant said.
I took one more glance at Jasmine before leaving too with Emily.
