I forgot myself so easily until uju spoke again.
“how dare you? what are you to Obi?” she questioned more demanding.
me to Obi. when? how? that’s a lie.
“Ujunwa I don’t underst–
“omg you just called me by my name” uju said as if she want to slap me through the screen.
“no one speaks when I speak am sure you don’t want to get into trouble with me”she stated desperately.
Margaret came out of the bathroom tieing a white scarf on her fine hair.
“ohh my phone,you pick my calls” she said and came closer.
“your fate lies halfly in my hand and i can do what i want to.I can shut you out so that at least I can think of some other things”Uju said. Margaret heard it when she took her phone.
“Uju watch it! what was that threat with my friend”she said. She is also confused like me.
maybe all that wouldn’t have happen if my mother didn’t die after all,I will be attending my local school ahf we will be happy.
“Manager Sharon has changed dates and plans”Uju said..
“is that enough reasons why you call me and why will you speak to my friend harshly,she’s human too” Margaret said.
“she’s human too,do I look like I care?” she replied and hung up.
I smiled when Margaret faced me.
“Am sorry,I apologize on Uju’s behalf*she said.
*oh you don’t need to,its fine*I said.
she knew it wasn’t fine,
she knew I wasn’t okay..
“I will share your bed” I changed topic and slept on one edge while lifting the duvet.
She turned off the lights and left the lampshade on and laid beside,me.
Her phone rang the moment she want to sleep.It was her mom,I admired the way they spoke so lovingly.It been so long I feel so loved am not even used to being treated nicely….
I am the one who treats people kindly here and what do I get in return…..
she ended the call with her mom and called her boyfriend Kelly.I intentionally went to the bathroom so I won’t listen to her and her boyfriends conversation.
I don’t snitch on people.
here is someone that have everything..mother,wealth,sweet boyfriend and a brighter future and I only ask for “Peace of mind”.

I returned to the room and tried sleeping until Margaret touched my back..
“bestie am really sorry about uju” she repeated.
“its fine,have even forgotten that matter”I said and faced her on the bed..
“but are you really seeing obi or does he have interest in you?”she asked.
“Me and obi? isn’t that close to the impossible. I wonder why princess ujunwa decides to pick on me tonight and I always avoid her”I said.and smiled out tears.
“Cheta why do you like downgrading yourself and thinking low of yourself. Emotion is one thing that can drag you into the gutter or take you to higher places depending on how you use it”she said.
“no need to persecute me,am just an assistant in spark mansion and am thinking ujunwa saw me coming out of there so she thinks I came for the guys which is not”I said.
“do you like obi?”she asked.
I rolled my eyeballs like why does this question have to come.
“nooo I don’t*I replied.
“you must be joking”she said.
“fine… I like his appearance” I rolled my eyeballs.

“you must be crazy”I hit a pillow on her head,she did hers.
we started a pillow fight and fell back when we were tired.

“yes but the date isn’t out.Angel the cheerleader will announce once its out.The camp is just 200marks. should I tell you how the camp will be”she asks.
“Yes am scared..I don’t want embarrassments from uju and I heard all girls will stay in one sections even the models will be there.I don’t want to stay near uju she’s scary and mean”I said.
she smiled.
Early the next morning I left.I need to see my sister.I hurried quickly and the first sight I got was Mrs Clara’s car driving out.The gateman opened the gate widely then she carefully drove out.Her car paused.
“where are you coming from?”she asked.
“from…from..”I startled and she glared.
“I didn’t go to where you sent me.. that man wants to–
“the man wants to what”she cuts in.
“he wants to rape and defile me and my mother told me to give it to the rightful person and not some old fools”I replied angrily.
“then I guess your dead mother that taught you that will pay the camp money”she said and drove out.
I took a deep breath and went inside. I took my bath and packed my bag. I can’t believe Mrs Clara’s plan for me she’s too beautiful to be wicked.
I dressed and wore a face cap to cover my face.I dropped money for Rita and left.My phone beeped,a message from spark.
I’m just late for work and school
I ran like I never did and took a cab I dropped and hurried into spark mansion. The first sight I got was Eric standing beside his car fully dressed.He smiled when he saw me.
I bowed in return and rushed in.
I almost bumped into Jerry too but he held me well.
“Hy”he said.
I smiled.These guys are actually kind and friendly.
I rushed to the kitchen and met just one maid there.
“you came late”she said.
“am sorry,what do I do to make it up” I asked.
she covered the pressure pot,I helped in putting sealed bottle water in a blue basket.the water was so cold. guess am going to share this to them
I walked out,they were set already.
I gave Eric his water.
“dá àlu”he said and I nodded.
then Kelly..
*thanks”he said.
then Jerry.
“thanks”he said.
something is missing.I bowed and rushed back to the kitchen.
warm water for obi.
The other girl gave me a pretty flask which I collected and handed with care.
I will give this to him but first I need to clear the dishes..
she left and soon I felt someone in the kitchen with me,I turned it was Jerry. I smiled and shifted with a bow when he came closer to my side. was I high??

I smiled.”thank you sir”.
“have you eaten,he asked”.
“yes yes yes”I answered
he smiled.
“really?”he asked
I nodded..
He pointed to the fridge and I walk over and opened it, different colors came out from nowhere and almost blinded my eyes.I finally saw the color mixed bulb inside the fridge.
I collected chocolates and cookies there…there were so many things so I got choice less.
“am just okay with this”I said.
he added a can fruit drink for me and carefully opened it up seems he knows I don’t understand the bottle.
I bowed and took it.
“its really pretty here”I chuckled.
“yeah just like you”he said and quickly took his eyes away from my body.I saw it as nothing cos I already took them as my brothers.
He walked away while picking a call.
I drank out of the drink.
all of them are gods,
its like chukwUokike(the gods who never fails) knows I have suffered too much so he brought me to angels.
I gulp down the fruit juice and took Obi’s warm water flask and locate this suite upstairs.
I adjusted my face cap and knocked.
no reply…I knocked again as I check time,I better not be late for lectures.
“young master…water is present” I said and knocked again.
no reply..
I checked time… am running late for lectures already.
there was no reply.I opened the suite door.I first close my eyes just because of what I saw.
money… gold tiles..
this is just wealth in all.
Cheta are you high???
I walked in carefully,there was another stairway.. like six phones were on the glassy center table.
I breathed out and kept the flask carefully.
is obi this rough??
everywhere is just scattered with money… I saw the gold chain where he kept it,it was still tangled with mine.He can keep it as long as he wants.. my thoughts was interrupted by an approaching footsteps from the stairway..
I hasten to the door and tried opening..it didn’t. what can be happening.
I tried again..by then obi was getting downstairs. Jesus.that was when the door slam open automatically.
“who is there?”I heard his voice.
I looked like carelessly when I heard his voice..
“Its nothing I…I…” I startled and rushed out.We shouldn’t see and meet..
my bag hooked with the door and dragged me back.
omg Obi at the door!!
