my mind raced in different directions
I still do not think this is the right time to tell obi about his background,he is still young telling him will only get more enemies attracted to him,it will cause more damage abd havoc and besides,It will also makee loose my hold on him if he knows am not his mother.

“my son just take some rest” I beat my Okoro to it and prevented him from telling obi anything further.
Have never known what it is to have a son all my life,but Obi’s arrival into my life changed it all he has been a great blessing to me and I don’t think giving him out away will be that easy.

“you were saying something father…continue” obi said abd poured himself a glass of wine.
I sniffed out little tears.”Okoro don’t tell him anything,I beg you with the gods”
“seriously”Obi said,confused.
I swallowed into nothing and hastily took his head on my laps,my tears dropped on his forehead his looks got more confused.

“I’m sorry Obi…we are not your parents”
Okoro said.
“she’s not your mother neither am I your father”he added.
Obi chuckled.
“you don’t even know how to joke,let me reach you that dad”
my tears streamed down.”son am not joking that’s the truth…I’m not your father and she’s not your mother neither”.

he sat up immediately the stood,
his eyes got sooo icy and got drenched in so much affections.Only his royal neck choka glittered as those innocent eyes of his pierced into my soul,memories of 23years ago flashed through my mind.i spoke out in tears.
“I picked you in a bush in a rainy midnight 23years ago,Obi I had no child but you resurrected my hope brought me blessings abd silenced those that mocked me of being baren” I said.

Obi walked gently to the window side,his hands tucked proper in his trousers,his legs were fitted in a black slippers that paint the floors heavenly as well

“what is my background? where is my mother to?”he asked,his hair blew back in the most perfect abd sexy rhymth.
…a deep blue music played in my mind,I smiled out tears as I watched him look in the rain quietly.
his heart seemed far away.

“Trust me,it wasn’t my intention for not telling you this when you clocked 18..
I was only trying to resurrected the people’s lost hope….

The story you need to know started 50years ago,Obi. This kingdom was established by your great grandfather,his reign as long was so peaceful but it seems his live wasn’t longer

he died, the king died abd he was survived by his subject the throne got empty and unluckily none of the king wives conceived.
King somadinaa ruthless king from the south came and wanted powers,powers abd powers
there is no limit to his mobility and violent abd every woman,he destroys abd burn human things.He got more powers and became fearless.

then it was a dark new moon light,
king somadinna’s first wife went into labor, your mother went into labor at the same time also….both you and prince eze were born at the same interval…
the incense staff disappeared immediately meaning a new king had been born..

the disappearance of the incense staff got king somadinna greatly worried so he ordered the killing of all male boys that were born same day with his son.

sir William planned your escape and dropped you in a golden basket,you…were kept in a bush.We became your saviour and immediately we took you in,our life was never the same.

Obi turned slightly…”my mother is what I sought for, where’s she?”
he asked,his eyes was soo red and boiled.

“Somadinna’s captivity I guess”.

Obi tapped the window hardly,the glass shattered with a loud noise is tears stream down he pushed the glassy table in a seconds
“stop it,obi” I said.
he rushed out.
“it’s cold out there,where to??”
I rushed out after him.
“am okay…I want my mother now”
he said loudly and entered the rain.He got soaked wihin a seconds.
“it’s cold,come back inside you have a health condition”I said.
he beeped his car and drove out speedily.
“guards go get him back”.I ordered and three cars drove after the car obi took out.
“you shouldn’t have said anything,you should have wait a little bit”I said and moved to and fro of the house.
my mind wasn’t just at rest.
“dear can you just see what you’ve caused? who knows if obi has gone to confront king somadinaa…why did you tell him? we all know how ruthless somadinna is,he will injure Obi”
I laments.
“let the rule overcome the rule”he said.
I sank into the couch worriedly and called detective “Drema”

I kept tossing on my bed,finding it so difficult to sleep.i even bath three times thinking sleep will come but none was forth coming.
Imagine.

why am I finding it difficult to sleep now?
maybe it’s because am addicted to Obi’s house or I forgot the comfort of the bed in my Granny’s house.
I washed my face in the bathroom and dried it with a hand towel.
“sleep time,gotta go”.
I fell on the pillow and pulled the silky duvet all over me,it was just so cold outside.
I hugged the pink teddy bear tightly and placed an extra pillow in my head.
I’m not even thinking straight again all that was on my mind was Obi in this cold weather.
I took my phone on the stand.
💌 umm don’t go to the waters Obi,eat well and drink enough water”I sent and fell back on the pillow.
no reply..my message hasn’t been seen by him, it was just sent.
💌 Obi are you okay???
sent but not seen.
💌 you’re in the studio right???
sent but not seen.

I dropped the phone and took the teddy bear in my hand,in as much as I tried to sleep,it wasn’t coming..maybe because I am lonely.
I stood up and wore the foam flip flop then I tied a wrapper on the singlet and short that I wore.i walked out and moved upstairs further.

my Granny’s house is a three storey building, different glasses were used to beautify the house. My room was just a bit above Rita’s room. I peeped in her door and met her sleeping already.
crazy girl,she slept all over her computer game, phones and laptop.
I moved in quietly and removed her phone, a movie was even playing in the background,I bit my lips and shook my head.
16 and still watching cartoons. I disconnected the movie and threw the phone to the other side of the bed then moved her head to lay properly on the comfort of the pillow.
It’s really raining heavily outside,I locked all the windows in her room.
“madam am sorry I came late”
a maid walked in.
“you’re sorry for what?”
“ma’am”she bowed.
“by this time….you’re here,shouldn’t you be also sleeping?”I asked.
“ahh umm noo,am Rita’s maid soo am to stay with her at all times”she said.
“stay with her? isn’t there a difference between Nanny and maids,Rita is big enough to take care of herself”I said.
“hunmh”
“you can go to bed,nothing will happen”I smiled at the maid.
she nodded and left.
I switched off the projective screen and left to granny’s room,she dropped her call immediately I entered.
“ohh,cheta”she said
“I just came to check on you…sleep isn’t coming my way that’s why”I said.
“try my bed maybe you won’t sleep”she said..
I smiled and laid quietly on one side,I watched her pick few calls before joining the other side

she picked another call.
“it shall never be well with you…you this foolish man stop calling this number”I heard.
she dropped the call abd switched off the phone.
“mama who’s that
“good night cheta,sleep well”she said another thing and lifted the delivery duvet to cover herself I covered myself with the other end I tried closing my eyes,
I felt extreme cold…I felt a cold strange aura around me,my image got blurry too soon my eyes reduced a bit but the cold aura didn’t leave me,my nose got filled with sweet scent of Obi’s body..
I feel like he’s around but…

“cheta you’re cold”granny said as she felt my temperature,she sat up immediately.
I felt so not me,my eyes suddenly got heavy.
“how is it doing you???”she asked,still touching every part of my body.
“well just cold..mama my waist feel so cold and my tommy too”I said.
“since when did it start?”she asked.
“just today”i said.
“I’m coming”
she came back with a glass of milk with a bottle of honey,she gave me to drink.
“is this the cure? what’s this sickness called”
I asked.
no words,she didn’t reply.
I drank it fully and stood up to return the cup.

“cheta did you and Obi meet already??”
she asked.
I dropped the cup on the tray.
“me and Obi meet,I don’t understand” I said.
“you don’t understand”she said.
I moved quickly into the bed and covered myself,maybe I made a mistake coming here have forgotten she will kill me with questions.

“umm your words are too sophisticated,I don’t understand”I said.
“I mean has Obi seen your panties,like has he gone deep down there”she asked directly.

there was silence.
“I asked a question”
“hunnnnn”I scratched my neck.
“yes,what has obi been doing to you while I was away?”she asked my eyes widened.
“well….that aspect…well” I looked at her,she’s patiently waiting for an answer..

“your highness,a stranger sneaked into the palace and took away the tridax prison key” a male servant reported to his majesty,king somadinna.
“where’s the stranger,I want him alive??”somadinna replied.
“your highness he escaped”
“go after him…you should head to the north” he gave orders.
“you you you,cover the boarders well and blow the danger siren”prince eze gave orders.
king somadinna left the throne room,this time another person has come to save chi..
whosoever it is won’t succed.he smirked wickedly and moved into one of his cars.

Obi arrived in a deserted place,
it was a really beautiful place although it’s deserted.The gates we’re well built on the top had a name incribed boldly.
A-M-A-D-I-O-H-A THE SECOND.
In as much as the place was beautiful,some traces of bushes could still be seen.

he stood for a while and cracked different ways of entering,his wet clothes clutch to his skin like a second skin,
he was dripping wet hotly,the rain wasn’t affecting him was a while what he cared in the moment was to see the person that carried him for nine month.
he won’t spare king somadinna this time around…

he moved out of his hideout quietly and got to the door,it was a different type of door entirely it can’t be opened from the outside except from the inside…
He took the nearby metal rod and hit it with the door.
“open the door”
“open”.
“open”… his tears stream down,he couldn’t believe this is him.
when last did he saw tears not to talk of crying

He dropped the metal rod and devise another means,he doesn’t think it will work out..he gave up and tapped the thick gate lightly.
“just open”he mumbled.
Like a flash,the door opened. He rushed in immediately and found a place to hide between the flowers where he brought out his phones to check the direction Emeke sent to his phones.

He ran in and slow down after a while,
he ran again in full speed and later took slow steps as he approached the dungeon.
His story was really true,he saw who he came for lying inside the dungeon all tattered and dirty…

“my sooon” queen chiamaka smiled out tears.
Obi stood boiling in real anger.”is this really my mother,seeing those eyes in pains makes my blood boils.
he brought out the key prince emeka gave to him so he would open the lock, an arrow from behind pinned the key to the wall.
He turned and met the gaze if king somadinna conniption gripped queen chiamaka in the dungeon.

king somadinna grinned,
watching son and mother looking at theirselves with so much affections.

“mother I will get you out of here,I promise abd my word is my law”Obi said.
king somadinna grunted.

“this is your last chance young boy,I allowed you escaped 25years ago….this is another chance turn away and run for I will spare your life”said somadinna.

“Amadi please leave,I already accept my destiny”queen chiamaka stretched out her chained hand for obi to touch.
In as much as she’s in pains,
she was glad she will touch her son,her first fruit…
Obi was as silent as a snail but his head was thinking and calculating in ten different directions.

“you really want me to end you the same way I wiped off your generations,leave now” king somadinna said.

Obi breathed out and touched his head playfully,where he wedged and banded his hair
“am not a trouble maker somadinna,you can have the throne but I won’t leave without this woman in the dungeon”he said.

“what makes you think you can do that? young man can you just turn and look at your back” king somadinna said,.obi turned slightly and couldn’t behold the large numbers of army.
“that’s death for you”king somadinna seethed
“yes I know it’s death and I want to ride to that annihilate death,no rogue will never harm me and I won’t leave here without resculing my mother”He replied.

“and if you die at my hand? I will wipe off your new found family,take away your precious lover and have a son with her”somadinna blurts….this alone angered Obi,his eyes turned red blood.

“I want you to be alive even after your arms and legs must have been cut off by me,I want you in your own pool of blood when the vulture pluck out your eyes and feast on your guts,
and lastly,your son’s abd daughter will forever be my servants”Obi said.

“guards attack!!!…..
somadinna grinned at Obi,he doesn’t even have a sword nor a gun,how will he defend himself.

Obi on the other hand couldn’t hold his anger and everything,he let out a loud disappointed scream….
the guards coming from both left and light got swept back by the dust.The atmosphere changed and in no time,the rain level increased.

Obi searched out for the key in the rain.
confusion was everywhere
finally he found the key,king somadinna wasn’t giving up.

He grabbed the nearby bow and arrow.

“somadinna,don’t take yourself for a fool you and I know that my son is not an ordinary child he hasn’t start dealing with you,he will soon start” queen chiamaka said in tears as Obi inserted the lock…

“Amadi!!!!!!!!! she shouted but it was just too late…
