JERICHO’S WEAKNESS Episode 62

Mrs Houston was extremely worried. It was damn late, yet Valerie was nowhere to be found. She wasn’t home yet.

She’d been trying to reach her on phone, but it wasn’t connecting, and wasn’t replying to texts either. Where the hell could she be??

She continued pacing tho and fro, her phone in her hand and shortly, her husband returned

“Honey” she ran to him immediately.
“Didn’t you get my texts? I’ve been trying to reach you for sometime now”

“Yeah, I’m sorry love, I was just extremely busy. Where the…”

“I can’t find Valerie” she cut him off, her voice sounding so teary.
“Valerie… Valerie isn’t home”

“What’re you talking about? What do you mean she isn’t home?” Mr Houston asked, perplexed.

“I’ve been trying to reach her for hours now, but her line isn’t connecting. And she’s nowhere to be found. I’ve called all the people I can, yet neither of them has a clue where she is and is so late. I’m worried!”

Mr Houston glanced at his wrist watch.

“Hold on…” He was about bringing out his phone from his pocket when a maid came running down the stairs.

“Ma’am. Ma’am” she called in a haste, drawing Mrs Houston’s attention to her.

“I went upstairs to clean ma’am Valerie’s room and found this letter on the bed ” she handed the note in her hand to Mrs Houston who collected it with so much anxiety.

“What’s in it?” She asked as she opened it with shaky hands and finally, her eyes came in contact with the written note.

Whaaat??? A goodbye letter????

Valerie continued walking with the strange boy and it got to a point her legs were already hurting.

They’ve been walking for such a long time, through bushes and hadn’t even come across a single person. Where the hell was he taking her? Or where the houses in Atlancia that far away from bushes?

“How much longer until we get to our destination?” She asked tiredly, trying so much to keep up with her strength.

“Very soon, pretty. Just a little more time” he answered cheerfully and Valerie wondered if he wasn’t feeling tired or anything.

They continued walking, Valerie a few steps behind him.

“Why are you so interested in the prince?” He suddenly asked, not turning to look at her and Valerie twitched.

“Uh… nothing. I’m just like every other lady you know? Crushing on the prince” she answered with a shrug.

A short silence stepped in and Valerie hoped he wasn’t being suspicious in anyway.

“So… you’re one of those crushing on the prince, right?” He suddenly asked, still not turning to look at her.

“Yeah, something like that” she chuckled. “it’s just a joke anyway…”

Before she could get the full words out of her mouth, he suddenly turned with an unexpected force and using one of the woods in his hands, hit her hard on the head with it.

“Argh!!” Valerie screamed as she fell on the floor, her hand over her head

What?? What was going on??

“You really think I’m stupid, right?” The boy chuckled as he turned around to face her, the wood still in his hand.

“You really think I’d br so dumb not to know you’re not from Atlancia? You’re one of those Intruders, people that don’t belong here. Do you know what we do to such people? We kill them”.

“No….” Valerie winced and Immediately, he hit her again and she passed out.
